  • Embark on a breathtaking journey with the Discovery Princess as we navigate the pristine waters of Alaska on a Princess Cruise. In this episode, we set sail from Ketchikan and venture northward through the inside passage towards Juneau. Our morning takes an enchanting turn as we detour into the awe-inspiring Endicott Arm, a 30-mile long fjord sculpted by the majestic Dawes Glacier.
    Witness the tranquility of the glassy smooth waters and the mesmerizing sunrise casting a warm glow on the surrounding mountains. Glide past floating pieces of glacial ice and marvel at the turquoise blue hues caused by the glacial silt. As we approach Dawes Glacier, prepare to be captivated by its towering face, hundreds of feet tall and half a mile across.
    Join us as the Discovery Princess maneuvers skillfully for a broadside view of the glacier, allowing for a unique and unforgettable perspective. You're welcome! I hate that for you because I considered it one of the highlights of the cruise. I hope you had a great cruise otherwise. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Beautiful! I will be seeing this this July. Can't wait! I hope it won't be too cold when I see this.

      That's great! I think you will love it. July in Alaska is generally warm with the long days. Only if it's raining for an extended time will it be cool and damp. I hope you have a great trip! Thanks for watching and commenting.

    Beautiful scenery! What month did you go?

    • @findushere
      @findushere  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      This was the last half of September. I think there was only one more cruise to Alaska before repositioning. It was definitely cool and rainy but I was prepared for that so it was still great. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.

    In what month was this cruise taken? I'll be doing this Mid June, 2024.

    • @findushere
      @findushere  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      This was in mid-September, the next to last Alaska cruise before repositioning for the season. The weather was mostly cool and rainy but doing it this late did let us see the northern lights. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Is port or starboard better??

    • @findushere
      @findushere  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I had a port cabin but for Alaska I think starboard is better. I thought we would get the views coming back but it didn't work that way. We were out in the open ocean. Still wasn't bad though! Thanks for watching and commenting.

      @@user-ff8ld8yn8i You're welcome! I wouldn't hesitate to get port again if good starboard rooms were not available though.
