Would you pack up and move to Canada, Winnipeg for instance, now? The snow is a week away. We speak English here in most provinces so there is a commonality of language. Even as a Canadian I wouldn't dream of moving to Quebec in the winter. The Canadian military has what is called the "active posting season", June through September. No one here buys homes or moves I winter. Like Mike says, come as a tourist and experience the country first.

When I first visited Russia it was February 2007...
I came from the Australian summer and landed in Moscow early morning...the speaker said over the top that it was -47'C 😂😂😂

Winter in the Russian village is really nice. Lots of snow and lots of fun. I used to visit a village in Yaroslavl Oblast. It was an earlier bus trip from the train station. I used to get off the bus, and then walked 3 km through the forest to this, semi-abandoned village. I recall it was early morning, no sound, and it was pitch black in the forest. I, perhaps 15 y.o. at that time, was stepping though the deep snow, with no flashlight, and suddenly something big and black just flew up from almost under my feet. Apparently, it was a big bird still sleeping on the snow, I woke her up as I almost stepped on her. Of cause, it was as scarry as hell.

Hi guys ! Another thing to think about if you are going to buy property and it's somewhat close to running water like a stream or river is to come in the spring.
You going to want to look how much the water will raise so you don't buy land that will be flooded.
    It's just a tip.
Be safe Dan and Ksenia and keep it up !

@@Wild-Siberia Backyard Russia bought a land at "заливные луга". Fields can be flooded by snow melting in forest.

As an "experienced" traveler ( having been to Russia ten times from 1994 - 2005 and done business there) I was amazed and the changes every time I went to Moscow, Saratov, Anapa, Novorossisk, Gelendzhik. ... My wife is from Saratov and we have been married 30 years. Now past middle age, she needs to go home. We care for her mother at home. Mom is 88 and has dementia so travel is out of the question. Russian winters are no joke. I came for the first time as an extended tourist right before New Years last year.
First of all, it is really cold. Sometimes if you smile or talk, your teeth will actually hurt because of the freeze.
If you don't know the language, everything is so much more difficult. It isn't the best time to go start to network, as most people stay indoors or go out to do something specific like sledding.
One time, I arranged through an app to stay at a hotel in Moscow. When I got to the hotel, and it was bitterly cold outside, they told me there was some sort of error and they couldn't accommodate us (me and my two children).
What would you do in that situation? If it wasn't the middle of winter, the temperatures outside are not even a factor. But having somewhere to stay warm is really important in Dec-Jan.
I'll tell you what I did. I had to call a friend (the only one I knew in Russia who spoke English and Russian) and had to ask them for help finding something I could get to. ALSO, navigation through the streets of major cities is a bit tricky and you could get lost. AD systems makes the GPS work not correctly.
DON'T GO In WINTER without a good plan in place and expect it to be temporary. Come back when it's warmer for the best time!

And a big part of Crimea including Yalta and Sevastopol don't accept immigration unless you where Ukrainian and lived there before, because of the military ports, military airports, and the war, etc .....And for the Est of Crimea where you can apply, they have very few quota's slots available and it's a draw between applicants. Yes... we know cold. We know snow. We live in the Ozarks of the USA today. Same lattitude as the Levant but with 60", 150cm annual rainfall. Gardens yield two harvests every year here. We'll get a little snow in Winter and it's usually melted the next day. Just enough, in my opinion.

Winter is easy when you have your family, understand the language, are used to the customs, are used to how things are done in the country, when Amazon deliver's stuff to your door. Winter becomes hard when, you don't speak the language, don't have family and friends, swift interbank does not work, you face a notoriously hard bureaucracy, one of the hardest to navigate in the world, are in a country where comfort is culturally less important and people won't understand your discomfort and sufferings. (Russian's are f tough) I moved from Canada, to Norway in winter and it was pure hell. Russia is significantly harder then Norway, at least 4X. Honest people admits openly "Russia's immigration, is immigration hardcore." Anyone who say's otherwise just lies because they want youtube subscription's.

Then i wish to visit where i have an inclination to reside. At the moment where i live, near mountains of Brecon beacons, temperatures range from near freezing to at worst -14^0 celsius (winter) and summers of between 18^0 - 26^0 celsius (summer) so imagine moving into winters double that in freezing...i would say unless you are acclimatised to this extent it would be a nightmare. I can withstand cold but Siberia is on another level cold. Including wind chill... me soon as i gain my qualifications, visit Russia next, then the place i would like to reside. For me Russia is my love and goal. My science would then be towards there. Great important post especially winter coming there. Your work is getting there slowly. Where I'm we get winters w minus 40 degree weathers some times in winter mostly Jan Feb r the coldest months when the temp drops that low. I put my flannels on, turn my fireplace on (yes on, it's electric lol) light some candles for extra warm and just stay inside til spring comes..unless I wanna go ski or hike in the mountains.
Russians winters won't deter me from coming! Hoping to make the move in spring time depending if all the paperwork goes smoothly.
Enjoy the snowy days guys! Don't forget to make a snowman and snow igloos and what's really fun is ice sculpting as a side hobby. Every year an ice hotel is made in Montreal Canada with a full ice bar, ice beds, it's pretty cool, u could also do something like that for fun during the winter months there.
All ze best to u and ur wife😊❤

It's colder where I live in Canada, and we're having a warm year this year in Manitoba. All our leaves have been off the trees well before Halloween, plus we get tons of wind here because of all the lakes around us. My trailer is tilting like 8 degrees, and I'm disability. It sucks. If your dressed for winter it can be the best season, I love walking in the winter. Nothing like a good -38 degree day to clear your pipe's out.

when i was kid in east-"germany" (born 1986) i loved the snow. i wanted snow every year.
i live in west now since 1995 and the last 10+ years or so... there is no snow in this little 40k town.
maybe we get some wet snow/rain for 1 week laying here....... but thats it. maybe the town is too hot. i dont know.
also the sky is always grey. we dont get "real" summers (maybe 2-3 month warm weather). we dont get real winters. mostly not raining. or if its raining than way too much...
when i see no snow, the year did not end in my brain.
    its like a paused life.
    sadge pepe :(
im pretty convinced they manipulate the weather here in europe.
i can tell just because of the 5-9 military planes/day flying over little town and spraying the grey mist that looks like a chessboard pattern.

You are probably exaggerating about the fog.. But to disperse clouds, they usually use powdered cement. Sometimes they also use liquid nitrogen, dry ice, granulated carbon dioxide or silver iodide (depending on the type of cloudiness and the height of the cloud layer). It is very expensive. In Russia, they use something similar on May 9, Victory Day, but in this case, in my city (Tver region) it is raining, which should be in Moscow.

People that are asking why there and not in some warmer part of Russia have to understand the life style out there... Its like the wild west.. there are not many cops or rangers out there...And even if there are you like know them by their 1st name.. Lake Baikal is the deepest lake in the world... the amount of wild life over there is just staggering. You can fish hunt and just live off the grid with very limited government interface.

I want to come next summer for a visit as need to really figure things out as I was reading somewhere else that in order to come I need to make an income of at least min wage a year and this will be verified at the end of each year. I am a senior and will be selling my house to move there. My intentions are to buy a house and then live off the rest of my money from my house sale here. I am from northern Alberta, Canada who decided to move to the Maritimes in Canada so see new Country here. I have no intention of working. I want to rent an apartment in a City that has classes where I can enrole to learn to speak Russian. Or I may come as a student first and learn the language a bit. I have also read that coming on this new visa i will still have to do the test. But other places say no because i am a senior i do not have to. I will be 70 in Dec. I really need to make sure I have every thing done right because once my house is sold I do not want to have to return to Canada. Selling my house here is my biggest asset and my biggest hurdle in getting to Russia. At my age and single senior female, I have no intention of building a house. I want to buy a smaller house 350 to 650 square feet with at least 6 thousand square feet of land. Hopefully more with land already planted with trees and greenhouse already built, I also want to kno how do i bring my stuff over. Not bringing big furniture but have things I have saved and collected over the years and do not want to part with. I want to buy a house in a village Not the City

I get it from the opposite perspective. Namely Mexico. Canadians flock to the beaches of Cancun and Puerto Vallarta in January and February for the warm sunny weather. Many eventually decide they want to live there and enjoy this all year round. Then, July August and September heat and. humidity "punches them in the face" and they desperately ask, "is this normal?" Why, yes it is, remember we told you? Also get the Russian summer can make winter worthwhile. The Russian sky alone looks worth it. Just a great video.

@@amare_naturam I understand that Russia should not be seen as perfect (exept maybe Ebrestan look at my name 😁), but what i see i like.
I live in Netherlands and am 50 years old and for what i see in Russia i think is how we lived here in the 70's 80's when i was a youngster, now the last 20 years i saw my society crumble and the mentality go down the drain and after the covid measures and almost mandates i am seriously considering to move.
My problem is i am autistic (not stupid but i think different i wrote this as a Dutchman but never had english lessons i learned my self) and i need my information plain and raw and pure truth inclusive the downsides for any target i will ever have.
Because the autism i also have different preferences than "normal" people i couldent care less about bad roads or have a house that shows wealth, i want a house that says "welcome" to ME whatever others think of that.
People want a mercedes, i'd like to drive a lada niva (the 4x4) and yes i know what i talk about i drove a samurai for 4 years and loved it, i really am different i guess.
Because of the maybe strange preferences i need different info than others and i can not find that.
Like i am a truckdriver but i need to sleep at home (because the autism) so i need work on a sandtruck garbage truck or something like that, don't care about the hours and early mornings, what can i earn and will it sustain a living for a family of 3?
I also can drive a reachstacker (pretty good actually) and what will that earn?
How are the percentages of tax and will i be able to buy land and build or let build a modest house for my family after i get permanent living permit?
That kind of stuff is difficult to find.
Most videos are for people who allready have money, i never had the opportunity to save up because of illnes of my wife.

BTW - Irkutsk is the second city in the world by quantity of sunny days per year....The first place has Dallas, TX, USA

Curious, are you going to use the soil from digging the foundation for raised bed gardening or such? Sure you may need to enrich the soil with some peat, other agrigates. However i hope you do. You mentioned greenhouse so , yes. Best to you and your misses!

We have absolutely rich soil if you see our older videos we harvested a lot because we took all the top soil to one side. The foundation ground will be used to level the new area of land that we reclaimed

If you install electric gates (and have enough room) fit the type that slide on a track back and forth and not the type that are hinged and have an arm to swing them open. The worm gear in the arms strips if pushed by a vehicle or in a high wind
