I can't stand our local STIHL dealers. They always tell you that you can't interchange attachments like that but yes, you can. I have this exact same setup at work that I use to prune apple trees and cut low-hanging limbs. Anything higher than I can reach with this thing is something I don't need to cut. STIHL dealers just want you to buy an $800 pole saw that isn't all it is cracked up to be. I hate those things. Used to have one, it was garbage.......

Thank you. My big two stage pole saw is too big for my wife. She loves gardening and doing some small tree trimming around our property but I don't want her using a chainsaw, it's too dangerous for her lack of experience. I did this this conversion on my FS110R today, it works great and is considerably lighter than my HT103. Plus having a chainsaw 4/5 feet away from her is much safer. Especially around the brush she likes to cut. She's upgraded from her sawsall and she's all smiles. She feels like a lumberjack, even though she calls herself a lumberjill. Take care and God Bless

On arborist site someone pointed out if you purchase the 37” kombi extension you can remove a plastic bushing, mount the saw head to it and the extension will mount onto your trimmer. I plan on trying this this spring.
I'm not sure if that will connect because on the FS 90- FS 130 models the shaft has a male square on the output and the Kombi units have a female square on the output . Check the 37 inch shaft extension if it has male square drive on both ends it will not work on the FS models but if the 37 inch extension has a female square were you connect to the FS model that will work. Hope this helps you.
@@kennytheguitarfanatic054 the kombi extension has a female drive on the end with the coupling and a male on the opposite end, just had to pop the little plastic bushing out of the male end and the head slid right on. Kinda heavy but good reach. They make a carbon fiber extension for some more money, might be the way to go!

I have a FS 91R. Just the string trimmer. I got a pole saw attachment with an extension rod. Sounds like I got to do the same thing. You said that you needed the circular saw attachment. So you can’t can’t take off the string trimmer attachment and do it?
You can leave the trimmer head on the fs 91 the string trimmer head just screws off. To put circular saw blades on you need a blade mounting kit part number is 4180 007 1038

I think it might work because the trimmer gear box is the same part number as the fs 90.

Your the man. You actually showed how to do it. I mean. My dealer straight up just told me what you did. And only sold me the chainsaw without the pole. And instructed me just as you showed here. These other doors are probably up selling by selling them the one I. The wall with a pole inside it. Or maybe they just don’t know. Anyways. My dealer in Arkansas has his shit together.
Check out page 19 of the STIHL User's Manual. It shows a number of attachments approved by STIHL to be used with this unit. However, the manual does not illustrate how to install the attachments. Thanks for the explanation, Kenny!

No not spinning backwards illusion on the video . I used this pole pruner on the fs90r in my how to save your blue spruce trees video. the KM 90r and FS 90r spin the same direction the Fs90r just does not have the shorter shaft.

At one time you could order the "HT" as an attachment. Now you have to order the gear head, bar and chain separately

Is it possible to use the HT KM pole pruner attachment on the HT/KM shaft extension? Would be great to use an FS 91 R with a shaft extension when using the pole pruner.
I believe you need the kombi unit to use the extension with the pole saw. Because the drive shaft is different on the kombi units.

Is it possible to put a weedeater head on a Stihl HT132 pole saw. ????
The trimmer head might fit on there. But it might be hard to control because it does not have a loop handle.

i dont know so ill ask... are all trimmers pole saws weed eaters nearly compatible with attachments? i see electric combos but no gas combos and i refuse to buy electric battery operated id like to find a bigger cc engine and just buy whatever attachments i want... i know ryobi offers this but id prefer a better manufacture for the engine itself
Not all engines are compatible you would have to know the shape and size of the driveshaft of the trimmer and how they connect to the attachment.

Finally, dealers will not tell you this because of the danger of being hurt by this change, and I'm not sure if someone could not bring litigation against you for posting it. Hence, we dealers and technicians will not advocate this just on the fear of litigation.
I If you look in a Stihl catalog 2016 the pole pruner is known as an interchangeable gearbox along with others like the power scythe and hedge trimmer to be used with the fs90R to fs130R R meaning the loop handle . So it is designed for you to do this. My Stihl dealer has been in business for 50years he showed me this when I got the pole pruner. What i was saying was that there are some Stihl dealers that don't know about this but the equipment is made so you can do this. Hope this answers your question.
