This is awesome, the previous video of the courses was great but this seems to really show South Africa and how amazing our people can be here, not just the golf courses.
Just discovered this. Started playing golf at the Met in 1976. Then CCC for years after that. Clovelly is a magnificent course but even better when the South Easter is roaring. I remember the trees on the fairways growing at 45 degrees because of that! Miss that course.
Why you in such a hurry all the time, EAL? You've got that Sponsor $ behind you yet you're running around from course-to-course on some huge time restraint or as if United are booking the next available ticket out of the place. Kick back and stay a little longer! Play a full 18 once and awhile. Maybe you should be knocking on Netflix's door ;-)
For real. Almost literally every episode is cut short because they need to catch a flight or whatever. This entire series could be like 25% better if they just stayed literally one more day in all the locations they go. So frustrating to see them kneecap themselves like this over and over.
You are truly a Golf Spirit, Please continue taking us on this remarkable journey....Keep up the awesome work and Cheers to you for being our guide. Best content on the TUBE. If you are ever in Phoenix I would love to buy you that first coffee of the day.
Thanks for coming to SA Eric and team! Bleak I couldn’t join at the Met, my home course. So much more golfing to see here, hope you have the chance to come back.
So glad you got to visit our beautiful city!! It is often overlooked and so happy you got to learn more about it. Would love to treat you to a round if you ever come back to Cape Town! Best wishes for the future!
Look up a player called Papwa Sewgelum. Was a caddie who taught himself how to play. Beat Gary Player with 6 clubs but wasn’t allowed to collect his trophy as non-whites weren’t allowed in the Durban Country Club Club House. Fascinating story.
Erik another great video thanks. The part about the Jewish guys who bought the course hit home for me being Jewish, I thought that was pretty special. Can I be you for a day? You travel the world, meet fantastic people and play golf. Where do I sign up??
Don't be in a hurry to leave South Africa EAL - I know stupidly rich people who've played just about every noteworthy, 5 star course on the planet, and they rate the courses along the Eastern Cape in S.A. as some of the best in the world. I've played those courses myself - they're the best tacks I've been fortunate enough to experience.
Erik, the only reason I'm not insta liking this is because you're current 69 likes and I won't be the one to ruin the Majesty of this moment. I'll come back later.
Last episode of the season??? Nooooooo. Hope I'm wrong. Love the quartet of young dudes, no lasses, only complaint. Great show. My usual moan... Erik, make the damn things longer! ⛳️
Hey Erick...I live in the area and you're right...its paradise! Hidden gem. Hope you enjoyed your trip to RSA. If you're looking for another adventure you should play golf in Botswana especially in Francistown... golf courses there are Pomegranate, Tantabane resort (proper Bush wacking) and the worst rated golf course in the world...Francistown country club (allafrica.com/stories/200711060807.html)
I think you are taking a small piece of an entire speech and twisting it to putt someone in to a box. Dont twist what people say. its unbecoming and you can ruin lives with unfounded accusations.
not in south Africa. We are very open about race and our differences. Speak of color I'm itself is not offensive. There are extremely offensive words for each race group. But you will get asked to indicate you race when you open a bank account, take out a line, apply for a job. It's how SA tracks how it is transforming.
Skyhawking1 well Arabella golf club is the apparently the one of the best courses in Africa but it’s fairly expensive. Then there’s Pearl Valley which is also beautiful! And then there’s Erinvale country Estate which is really nice too.
Kimberley Stoner they’re close enough to drive to. And are within the area. If you want to play nice affordable courses in Cape Town, Rondebosch is nice, as is Mowbray and Milnerton.
Great video. love this series. Kind of sucks that black people don' t really get any good benefits because of the lingering effects of Apartheid. Glad that the country club featured accepts people of color. Step in the right direction.
Unfortunately apartheid has been turned around. Not geographically but financially and politically. White people born after apartheid are still struggling and being disadvantaged by economic laws because of it.
i grew up in a middle class family couldnt afford to play. i make pretty good money and cant afford green fees locally. maybe its not a underprivilege thing maybe the issue is the privilege
Really? Maybe you should play affordable courses like public muni's. Around where I am you can play for $22 midweek and $25 weekends walking 9 holes. You can also get used clubs. I know a guy who bought a full set with bag for $10 at a yard sale. I also go to the park and shag balls to avoid paying for balls at the range. Where there's a will there's a way.
@@romewasnotbuiltinaday There is no course within walking distance then and now, that I could ever get near 22$. And the fact you think that 22$ is affordable is my whole point. We can play 10 games of little league with 60$. Golf is for upper class.
Dude, I would kill to watch EAL on Hot Ones.
Fuck spot on aye!
big facts
Yesss
No questions about Sia tho
yes please
"I just get to the top of my backswing and my insides congeal."

I love the quality you pour into these episodes. Amazing.
Hi I'm Erik - INSTANTLY SMASHES LIKE BUTTON

Cape Town is one of the coolest cities!! Wish i could have played when I was there in the past!!
Eric. If you come to SA again, get a hold of a gentleman by the name of Gary Player. A true legend in this country. Not only as a golfer.
Gary played my local course in west Texas back in the 60’
Thanks for the great words about our country south africa

Don't think he owns the channel so if so he wouldn't have full conent decisions. Maybe I'm wrong

I played Clovelly twice when learning. Truly stunning course even if you know absolutely nothing about golf.
You are truly a Golf Spirit, Please continue taking us on this remarkable journey....Keep up the awesome work and Cheers to you for being our guide. Best content on the TUBE. If you are ever in Phoenix I would love to buy you that first coffee of the day.
Always great to see people enjoying the Mother City, Cape Town has more to offer!
Thanks for coming to SA Eric and team! Bleak I couldn’t join at the Met, my home course. So much more golfing to see here, hope you have the chance to come back.
One of the best. Thanks for coming to SA👍
Best Adventures in Golf ever, You're a good man EAL.
Thank you for showing off my home club.
Much love EAL!
As a Capetonian 2 of the best courses I've played on, Clovelly being my absolute favourite.
watching this makes me just want to go out and play golf
Just beautiful. Thank you !
Amazing editing and such great stories to be told! Amazing that these types of episodes aren't hours long. Need to release the long edit version!!!
Clovelly is the most underrated course in the Mother City and I hope this vlog won’t change that...🤞
"I get to the top of my backswing and my insides congeal". This might be the best quote about golf I've ever heard.
I’m from Cape Town! I played last Friday! I wish I could have met you 😭😭😭😭😭
Next up: De Zalze, Stellenbosch, Simola, Arabella. Hopefully see you soon again in Cape Town.
So glad you got to visit our beautiful city!! It is often overlooked and so happy you got to learn more about it. Would love to treat you to a round if you ever come back to Cape Town! Best wishes for the future!

You should play desert canyon golf course in eastern Washington state, it’s truly a beautiful course.

Great episode. Are you wearing a Timex Q in this video?
Look up a player called Papwa Sewgelum. Was a caddie who taught himself how to play. Beat Gary Player with 6 clubs but wasn’t allowed to collect his trophy as non-whites weren’t allowed in the Durban Country Club Club House. Fascinating story.

Best greens in South Africa are Wingate Park period
Bru Wingate greens are just pure ruthless, second to that has to be Killarney.
Hi Erick if you in South Africa can you maybe come to ladysmith in KSU Zulu natal in south africa
Erik did you come to Killarney country club in Johannesburg

EAL biggest playa in the game
Feels like the research done was a bit lazy...many more historic/representative/"important" courses in Cape Town. Still love the show though.

I love the faux concern about the lack of diversity in South African golf. Also, oh never mind.
Did he just say 'unfortunately apphartheit went a bit too far'? He seems to like the idea of dividing people by colour and culture...
I think you are taking a small piece of an entire speech and twisting it to putt someone in to a box. Dont twist what people say. its unbecoming and you can ruin lives with unfounded accusations.
I love your content but is the 3 diversities not massively rascist and out of context. White, black and coloured?????????
That’s just the “American oppression” talking. And honestly, the German Nazis had to of moved in towards the end of the war

Skyhawking1 well Arabella golf club is the apparently the one of the best courses in Africa but it’s fairly expensive. Then there’s Pearl Valley which is also beautiful! And then there’s Erinvale country Estate which is really nice too.

@@danieldesmond3422 Whilst I agree with your comments on the 3 courses you mention, none of them are in Cape Town!
