I have been taking it for over a year. It lowered my A1c from a 6.5 to a 5.6 without any prescription medicine. It also brought my triglycerides down into the normal range. My Doctor also was able to take me off of one of my Blood pressure meds when I started Berberine. I have also lost over 30 lbs. The weight loss may partly be to Keto and Berberine combined. I have had no side effects at all.
Been using berberine for some time now. No side effects. Using it to allow higher carbohydrate consumption while cycling off of the carnivore diet for a while. Seems to be working exactly as I had hoped. Great video, Kait!
I've been taking it for a few years now (since 2018 or so) and haven't had any bad side effects that I've noticed. In fact, on the contrary, I think it's helped in my reversing my Type 2 Diabetes and keeping my blood sugar in check. Not sure if it's done anything for weight loss, as I've been doing keto for about 5 years and already losing weight with that, but, again, it helps with my blood sugar and to me that's the most important thing.
The first time I tried berberine I had diarrhea all day. Tried it a few weeks later but took the capsule along with dinner. I think this slowed the absorption and my tummy was ok.
Ok perfect timing. I had discomfort with Berber one; however changed to dehydroberberine with Ceylon cinnamon, which is supposed to be 5 times more potent and with less side effects. Been taking for a week with no issues. Love your content, and love you more...thanks so much for what you do...hugs
Wow! So glad I happened upon this video! Several years ago I tried taking berberine. I've been pre-diabetic for many years, controlling it with diet, etc. I only lasted 3 days at half the dose because it turned me into an absolute limp-as-a-dishrag --- very lethargic. I looked & looked online to see if anyone had reported that reaction, but did not find anything about that particular effect. So now I figure maybe it gave me hypoglycemia. I also have lower than average blood pressure to begin with, so I hope I never have to take metformin; if that stuff has the same effect, I'm done for!
Love berberine! helps me heaps. BUT.....iT DOES make me hypoglycemic if I time it poorly. I take it immediately after my biggest meal of the day. Usually 6pm ish. If I forget and dont take it till say 10pm...the following day I can be hypo. 😕
Morning Kait.......or afternoon.........or something!! 😄 Hope you're doing well. Love how you cover every aspect of items - good, bad or indifferent. Over here, we have a prospective HHS nominee who is an ardent advocate for health & safety(RFK jr) He already has the pharmaceutical & food industry scared and on high alert in opposition to his appointment. Gonna be interesting! Anyway, have a great day and be safe. PS: I DID have a great day watching football, lotsa close exciting games! Unfortunately, my team lost...oh well, life goes on!
Almost 4pm sooo... almost good evening 😂 That's so good to hear changes are being made to the food system to prioritise health! Dang, too bad about your team. Can't win them all 😭 I have two hockey games in Melbourne this weekend so mentally preparing for those.
I took Bernerine phytosome 550mg by Feel Good for close to 5 months. My fasting blood sugar was great at 96, has been just over 100 for years, my A1C dropped from 5.9 to 5.7 but my tsh soared to 22! I have hashimotos but on 100mg of levothyroxine my tsh is normally around 1-2. I was hoping thyroid suppression would have been one of the negative effects listed here. Not as common? No longer taking berberine.
Ive been taking it everyday for years, even before I was diagnosed as prediabetic (to me, I'm more like pre prediabetic). I've always had trouble with weight. I can only FEEL a difference when I am strategically & intentionally eating/not eating. When I'm doing those things, I'm more in tune with what's going on with my body. It's like I'm more sensitive to change.
Never really experienced anything from taking it...except maybe at the beginning....some bathroom differences but nothing as of now..I've lost weight has slowed in losing ..but haven't been as disciplined as should of been but continue to take it and haven't gained any weight back
It depends on your numbers. If they're generally low and you respond well to berberine, you'll have to stop taking anything else that lowers your glucose or you'll get hypoglycemic. When I started with berberine, I had to cut down on a med because it'd go too low. You're the only one who can decide that. I'd recommend you to start taking berberine, check your numbers to see if you need to add another med also or just berberine keeps your numbers down. Good luck!! 👍🏼
I take berberine daily in the suggested dose (2 pills) but I don't take any other medications, and I have zero side effects. I'm not sure how it's working as far as my blood sugar goes, but I'll find out in a couple of months when I take my next blood test.
I’ve had absolutely no side effects, I take it twice a day. However, Inositol makes me gassy. Haven’t tried cinnamon extract, so I can’t speak to that.
I tried the inositol and folate combo time ago and it was magic for 2 weeks and never again. I started taking berberine around a year ago and it's working nicely but the side effects are getting worse. It lowers my numbers by 20 to 40 points so I reduced the intake of Glimiperide. I was ok in the beginning but lately it's giving me IBS flare ups, they're painful and it gets worse if I eat fruits or veggies. Because I'm taking capsules with the powdered berry, I thought it was the excess of fiber because I can't tolerate fiber. I'm in a dilemma: my intestines or my diabetes
Have tried it a couple of times. Never helped my blood sugar. Most times I had to stop because it would cause skin irritation upon exiting the body. So the last time I tried it I bought a phytosomal version and took it for nine days before giving up -- I stopped because my blood sugar actually went higher, my HRV was lower, and I felt tired all the time. At least there was no irritation this time!
So far my experience is good in so far as no adverse reactions. It has helped to settle a very disturbed bowel but not sure if its working yet to reduce blood glucose or weight. I started it to help lower blood glucose and it did seem to help for several weeks but lately doesn't seem to have the same benefit. I'll continue with it as it's still early days.
I started taking it and I experience a temporary tingling in the skin and facial area. I get a redness all over for about an hour and then it goes away.
I have tried berberine. Really doesn't help as much as I had hoped. It gives me diarrhea pretty easily. Doesn't really help with my blood sugar levels as much as I hoped for either.
I’ve been taking Berberine for years without problem. The only issue with it (not true for metformin) is it affects how your body metabolizes some drugs (via liver enzymes-used to be called P450 aka cyps).
1: how many time do you have to stop your video because cat interference? 😂 2: I was thinking about taking beberine, but i will reflect on this. Thanks.
Within the first two days of trying berberine, I had constant diarrhea! I ended up in the doctor's doctor's office. Once under control, I had to deal with serious constipation. A bad experience overall.
I took a high dose daily for 6 months or so under the care of a naturopath and had no side effects. It did curb my cravings and reduce my hunger about 1/4 the way Ozempic did (was on ozempic for over a year a few years before). Ultimately, my biomarkers required pharmsceuticals, but it's worth a try!
What has your experience with berberine been? Good… or bad? 👀
Good for me.

Have been taking Berberine for over a year without any complications.
👏👏
I've been taking it for months, no problem 🤷🏻♀️

Check back in 2 years….
I just started berberine. You always seem to have the perfect video for my current experiment. Still LOVE mouth taping.
What good timing! 😁 And yesssss for mouth taping!
I have no side effects and I take it daily.
Same
Same here!

I experienced no negative side effects. It helped lower my blood pressure and IR symptoms. It helped me transition into a low carb/keto diet.
👏👏

I got pretty sick from regular berberine but no issues with dihydroberberine.

@@HealthCoachKait What is your take on dehydroberberine ?
I’ve been taking berberine for a couple of months, stomach issues a little at first but now that’s gone away. Good stuff Kaiti, thanks

You probably could have mitigated the effects on blood sugar by taking it after eating. The dose you took was probably too high for you too.
I had some gastrointestinal issues, but they resolved pretty quickly. I've had no other side effects.
No side effects and taking it everyday for me.
👏👏
I have been suffering from IBS. I wonder if Bernadine has been the cause.
I will stop taking it tomorrow and see what happens.
I've been taking it 2.5 yrs. Used it to transition to KETO. Lowered my A1C 7+ -5.2. Reversed t2D
I guarantee Berberine didn’t reverse anything. It worked with keto, to reverse it. It isn’t powerful enough to do anything, without diet change.
Love berberine! helps me heaps.

I take 2 grams pet day and no side effects. Replaced metformin with Berberin, although it's probably more expensive than metformin.
Can berberine replace metformin?

Is it OK for pre diabetics?
Yes!
Is this only effective for people with type 2 diabetes? Could it have any benefits for people with Type 1?
Do you have insulin resistance? Usually Type 1 has issues producing insulin so I wouldn't take it for that. It could lower your blood sugar too much
It won't help type 1 specifically, but will help if you have double diabetes.

I only take Berberine phytosome, or dihydroberberine which doesn't produce any of these side effects. Maybe Berberine HCL is the problem 🤔
My thoughts exactly!
I have tried berberine. Really doesn't help as much as I had hoped. It gives me diarrhea pretty easily. Doesn't really help with my blood sugar levels as much as I hoped for either.
Hm interesting. Definitely try inositol!
I’ve been on it for a year or so and had only very positive experiences with it.
I’ve taken it for years with absolutely no side effects. I would consider it completely safe, unlike metformin.
I took it for months; it made it hard to pee (it was like my muscles were going weak), and I had a strange pain around my tailbone. I know, strange.
I have not had any side effects from Berberine. If you follow the directions for use it should be fine.
No side effects and great results!
I can't tell if it's doing anything at all. Good or bad.

I had never side effect with Berberine. I had different side affects with metformine.
No issues for me

I took it for 7 months and had to stop because it made me very nauseous!
The only side effects I’ve had is diarrhea (but I also don’t have a gallbladder too) and some nausea
Been taking it for about a year with no side effects so far.

Take it daily 0 issues
I take it daily and get not side effects but I only take one capsule instead of two.
I had an allergic reaction to berberine, broke out in a rash.
Dammit. Definitely try inositol!
