    I stopped using scented items after learning that the smell of clean is nothing. I thought it was weird that nearly everything I owned had a scent to it from detergents to shampoos to lotions and deodorants. Since cutting out nearly all scented items (my natural deodorant is scented) I find I'm more sensitive to fake scents. I have to have a scented deodorant, that's definitely something I don't see changing.

    Comparing axe to a fragrance lol and 3000 chemicals? Sorry but that is over exaggerating number. I wear fragrance every day and I never had a problem. Wearing fragrance makes me less tolerable to foul smell. Starbucks is more dangerous than fragrance. Do you realize there's a reason why some fragrances stick longer to clothes because they use more fragrance oil and less alcohol? TThere's Hermes fragrances that only last 2 hours because the oils they use don't last longer than 2 or 3 hours? By the way, essential oils are chemicals. A normal person couldn't afford real lavender oil because it cost 3000 dollars per kilo

    Absolutely, even most expensive perfume / cologne I use (Guerlain’s Imperial for men or Creed Aventus or Very Valentino) you can not spray them on your skin only clothes and where your nose won’t be smelling it, because most of these, will cause what is called a reaction in the esophagus, the feeling is similar to a heartburn: (try it while spraying yourself in a car with closed windows and no a/c, you will see what I am saying) Also, for MEN your pheromones that would potentially attract women can be off, so keep this in mind when wearing something on your skin !💰is in your skin.

      Who told you Creed doesn’t use chemicals in their perfumes? Ha Ha.. Every single perfume, either designer or niche has lots of chemicals in it, no matter if it’s £ 40 or £ 400. Chemicals mixed with alcohol. In order to get 100 % natural you need a very deep pocket, a natural parfum usually costs over £500 for 1-3 ml and we’re not talking about Creed, we are talking about Ensar Oud, Sultan Pasha, Agarwood Assam.

      @@alexs7758 My point is you tend to find more natural or higher quality ingredients in niche fragrances compared to designer fragrances because they are not producing fragrances for the typical masses. Also Creed used to use the highest quality ingredients because the founder was an expert at sniffing out quality fragrances even though the founders never really created the perfumes. It all got exposed in a book called The Ghost Perfumer.

    I don't wear perfume either just roll on deodorant. The reason why is because I have a sensitive nose and too much scent gives me a headache/migrane. Plus when you buy perfume you have to finish it so if you're not going to use it often why get it. Plus I'm a picky person so if I go to the perfume shop for me to buy one I need to smell at least ten others and smelling that much perfume in a day just gives me a headache, makes me feel dizzy, and my nose tickle (making me want to sneeze ) plus they can be expensive.
    Why do I need perfume anyways? I've taken a shower and I used my roll on , what else ....

      I still wear nail polish sometimes but there are cleaner brands out there that are "3-free" and "5-free". That being said nail polish even when it's a green beauty brand is still not the cleanest cosmetic out there but if you can avoid pthlalates and formaldehyde releasing chemicals then that's a great step in the right direction! Deborah Lippman, RMS are 2 brands I like.

    I stopped using perfume as well, i threw out all my 20 high end perfumes. I noticed now that ive stopped using them ive became sensitive and actually get headaches if i walk into a perfume department or when someone sprays it. I switched over to Pacifica because i think they are a way better alternative for those special occasions. How do you feel about Pacifica?

    • @joyoushealth
      @joyoushealth  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am familiar with Pacifica but they still list "fragrance" as an ingredient. If they are willing to disclose all their ingredients then you could evaluate them to see if they are free from hormone disrupting ingredients.

    I wish more people may watch this video and consider seriously the usage of fragrances. Not only in perfumes cosmetics, but also in cleaning products (for your wash or house chores) or wax candles, maybe naively used to create a "feel good" sensation.
    Our society has arrived to a point that, literally speaking in english, we do not "use" a perfume but we "wear" it as a piece of cloth, and without it? Are we "naked"?
    Unfortunately, whenever you make notice this issue with fragrances, not everybody is ready to take you seriously.
    Please, stay sure to clean yourself with water and marselie soap, use deodorant when you perform with other persons, but consider those health issues too: If you do not live those difficulties on your skind (literally), it remains hard to understand. This dark side is SCARY to live, but I count on the sensitivity of others too 🙏🙏🙏

    You say you can use essential oils, that is a lot of what the fragrance consists of. Seconded only to alcohol. The ‘chemicals’ which you claim there can be up to 3000 different varieties of all packed into a bottle. This is simply not the case. Overly misleading as the average is 14/15. Furthermore these chemicals are used in the minutest of quantity’s. You make a point of loving the planet so that’s why you don’t use perfume. How about you stop driving your car. Stop using electricity. Your cooker etcetera. All of these examples would be much better in regards to the environment if you was to cease using them.

    • @joyoushealth
      @joyoushealth  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unless it states essential oils in the ingredient list, fragrance actually contains synthetic ingredients and there can be anywhere upwards of 3000 different chemicals in the making of one signature scent. Wearing perfume isn't supporting my health in any way so it makes sense, for me at least, to go without it.

    • @Harry-ic8ih
      @Harry-ic8ih 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Joyous Health. No, the fragrance notes aren’t synthetic. That’s the case with cheap perfume. In antiperspirant/deodorant, there can probably be upwards of 3000 I don’t know because I don’t care about that. In a bottled fragrance that is packaged in a glass bottle will not contain upwards of 3000 chemicals. If it’s in a pressurised can, it Probably will contain that. However If its a perfume with an atomiser and costs more than £40 it would not be bad for your health. It wouldn’t cause difficulty to breath because it would be oils. The stock photos which you use infer that it is the quality fragrances that cause this catastrophic damage to absolutely everything. It’s not; not at all.

    I am having all these symptoms, acne on the ears, suffocation, nausea, headache, desorientation from perfume at work. At home I feel fine, no perfume here, no laundry with scent. I can't wear clothes with scent or laundry scent, it really bothers the brain. You feel the perfume in the air the mist, it floats in the air, and your feel sprinkling in your eyes pin needle and burning. I had to seek legal intervention. The person with the perfume is just like a mobile air freshener, whenever the person moves any part of the body even seated, the perfume activates in the air, it's horrible. The symptoms can be severe, mild, medium depending on what type of perfume. One day I was in a store, and I kept running away from one person, and she kept coming towards me while she was exploring the store, and I kept moving opposite direction. I approached her and I said "what are you wearing, is that laundry detergent, what's the name?" I wanted to know the name of the real poison. So I said: If you knew how this smell, you would never wear this, do you have children at your home, do you have pets, don't wear this. You will keep people away from you. She got terrified and she was so glad that I told her the smell causes repulsion on other people. I said water and non scent soap is enough to keep fresh. I used the non scent Dove bar soap. Whenever I go to the grocery store, it's the most sold in the shelf and the other poison one stay on the shelf. The body wash I use is the Ocean breeze by Suave, it's very mild scend and my body does not complain and the smell does not stay, that's another product that leaves the shelf first, sometimes ran out. When you are at work just observe the people with perfume, if you and other start sneezing, coughing, tearing eyes, difficult breathing, it's not flu, it's the damned poison perfume.

    • @joyoushealth

      The word natural actually isn't regulated so it doesn't imply that it's clean or free of chemicals and the word fragrance can contain up to hundreds of different ingredients or chemicals, so I would recommend steering clear of natural fragrance as well.

    Yesterday will be the last day I have ever put on perfume! Not to mention the money this would save everyone! I already threw away all of my chemically skin and makeup products yesterday after learning how bad they all were. Probably 90% of them had "parfum/fragrance" along with at least 3 other ingredients detrimental to our health. I'd been using all of them on a regular basis.. some for over 5 years. Its so crazy to me that companies are actually allowed to sell this shit. Sorry but having my fake tan on fleek (is that how its spelled? lol) and hair formed into perfect ringlets all day everyday, is not worth slowly giving myself cancer/ sabotaging my health I work so hard to have in every other way. • @smartfart9003
      @smartfart9003 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fragrances/perfumes have no long term tests on humans. They do test them on animals like rabbits for acute reactions (burning etc) but that is only to mitigate liability and is irrelevant to how the chemical affects a human who accumulates the chemicals in the body through skin absorption. No one actually has any idea how the chemicals could be affecting us and the possibility that they are responsible for any number of symptoms and diseases/toxicity will always be present until the tests are done. But the industry is extremely wealthy and will resist any attempt to test the long term health effects.
      There are plenty of companies that use natural ingredients that are likely much safer for human exposure.

      Elin Almberg “human smell is awful smelling”, well if you smell bad, then you might want to consider doing a detox. I think that’s a big part of the reason people drown themselves in cologne or perfume, is that they don’t smell good. Fragrance also masks our natural pheromones which are super important to be attracted to someone from a biochemical perspective. Something to think about for sure!
