I run a Cimarron and pitch it with my trekking poles. I simply pull the bottom rod out of one pole and slip the tip of the other into that same hole. Super simple and sturdy with no yolk or adapter necessary.. I'm running the old reliable aluminum Black Diamond poles that you all are talking about.
I love my Cimarron. With a nest or a stove. It's great year round if you want. Thing is awesome in the wind as well. I highly recommend this set up. 1 to 4 people, depending on how you are running. Perfect 2 guy set up. I use trekking poles to pitch mine. Get a half nest. Makes it great in the campground too.
Words of wisdom from Brian in the intro on chasing wealth and what makes one happy. I am confused on the weather... Ryan is wearing a full winter down parka and Brian is sporting a T shirt.
Love your style Brian and that dude Ryan is the shiznit! You both ooze toughness and humility. I like that. I’ve always describe myself as a junkyard dog that also holds the door for old ladies. Keep doing what you are doing. Ain’t for everyone, nothing is, but there are a church full of “Gritters” out here devouring your content. I’m tent shopping so thanks for the info.
The longer I watch this the more I think the tent pole is really just a split screen. Ryan is on the mountain in a Puffy and Brian is inside with green screen studio with short sleeves. 😂
Why does everyone say you can’t use a floorLess tepee shelter above timberline? I have a Redcliff ultralite and large uturn stove ordered from Seekoutside. I can’t wait for it.
Josh Laubach you can brother there’s nothing wrong with it the only problem is no wood for the stove and depending on the size of your shelter it can be hard to find a space or have room to stake it down where with a free standing tent you can throw about anywhere hope that helps
Ticks and other bugs don't bother us too bad. Even during the spring time when the ticks are out in full force, we just do a tick check in the morning and a tick check before we go to bed at night. We have noticed that ticks will usually crawl around for quite a while before they actually decide to start settling in. Thanks for the great question.
You guys speak on bugs for the floor-less shelter but what about California and rattle snakes? Is that a concern for you guys? Would it be based on your area?
Money doesn’t make you happy but it can give you freedom. It’s more important what you give up to get it. But you’re gonna want money when your old and unable to work with no money. The older you get the more expensive life gets.
I watched the same movie the other night.. I just kept wanting them to give some up and get away with what they could lol .. As far as your view on money and wealth I totally agree it just took me about 50 years to realize it. But now I'm in a position where I can pursue my passion. Maybe if I'm good enough I can make a few bucks with it . You know this eating everything we kill thing has to have some limitations.. I know that the philosophy is popular and helps with public perception.. but some predators have to be killed for the sake of conservation.. including cats.. and I'm not eating a house cat... When you kill a predator you save animals that are good to eat. The government kills lots of coyotes every year .. matter of fact they just flew the plane on my brother in laws farm/ranch in nevada and killed 154 coyotes .. and just let them lay.. now that is a waste .. not that they didn't eat them but to take advantage of the fur.

I think he was mostly referencing the stove, usually no wood above tree line
My Nortent lavvo 4 withstands some serious wind and weather. Wouldnt trust any other light wieght tipi i have seen !
What about ticks crawling into your tent and finding a warm body to crawl into?

Soak all your gear in Permethrin before you leave the house and the bugs won’t bother you.

I am curious if there are graphite Trekking Poles?
As in graphite do you mean carbon fiber? Then yes, there are..
Good stuff man good stuff! Keep up the hard work. Stay Gritty. #keephammering 💪💪💪
Brent is looking scary. Does he hunt with just a spear and loin cloth? Then he asks “if cat is tasty”. Lol
I have attempted to sign up for the news letter twice but haven't got one to the best of my knowledge. Have you guys sent any yet? Lol
What chair is that? Anyone know?
Helinox maybe?

When does the discussion of shelters start? I'm more than 12 minutes into a 50 minute video and we haven't even started.
Your Hilleberg isn't that light Brian :)
