I loved your "let it go" picture from frozen with your face. You are so funny! I am about to tackle my dreaded garage again. but I might need those paint cans! LOL!
When I saw the title of this, I was hoping one of the pitfalls discussed would be the hoarder spouse. He has one room that I gave him but he continues to spread his hoard in other rooms, no matter what I say. He is aware of it and feels (kind of) bad. Every major declutter project I try to start has to become a huge discussion, which is such a time waste. We're getting ready to do a major renovation project in the house in about three months and his hoard in the attic is going to be an issue. He claims that he just needs to "rearrange stuff up there" but I don't think so. We've been dealing with this all our married life and he still mentions the time forty years ago I accidently threw out a used pair of his sneakers that I didn't realize he was still using to garden in -- because they were so ripped up. Guess I need to take the course!!
Great video! Once you declutter and the stuff is out of your home, you won’t miss it! We did a massive clean out 5 years ago and it has made all the difference when it comes to knowing and managing what you have.
You scanning our recipes is the best idea. I frequently save recipes i find online in a notion file. I have never thought to do that with my Hello Fresh recipe cards.
The first 15 seconds were on loop in my head for many years. Sticking around with you for a while is the first time I’ve actually believed i might be capable of what you are modeling!
LOL I like your "Let it go" 😆 I needed this. I'm about to embark on my storage room that has exploded all over the hallway and is invading the rest of the basement.
i do not have problem to declutter, but im living with a horder, my husband. he does not want to declutter even garbage :/ and i feel so stressed because of this :/ he makes me the bad, because i "declutter even good stuff". so for those, that CAN declutter and nobody is making them bad for this, go for it!
Great video. I think I'm a little bit of a rarity as I don't have a problem letting go of stuff. If anything, there have been times when I look back and regret that I didn't keep something- mostly something of my daughter's. My daughter on the other hand is a borderline hoarder. She has sentimental attachments to everything and I mean everything. I'm not a minimalist though. I like to shop for decor; I'm just good at giving things to Goodwill.
I seem to be cursed getting it out of the house. I get takers on the socials etc and they just don't turn up for the items they've requested! It's very frustrating because at that point I just want it out of the house.
I didn't think twice about hauling the junk out of our house. Didn't care where it ended up so long as it was not in my home. We have a Transfer Station, they took everything for under 20$ The money was worth my peace of mind.
All important documents are in a fireproof lockbox. 👍 but as I was decluttering I burned 20 years worth of tax documents! At least 15 years worth are saved on a digital thumbdrive, so why was I printing them out?!.. I'm not doing that craziness anymore.
No, I didn't really want to decide to decluter. I decided to start my day with a happy, cheerful person, You are such a positive, intelligent, individual who beings so very much to my attention. You are a huge Beautiful Blessing to my life. Yes, little by little you are getting to my head and heart ❤ 💙 💜 💖. I don't have any real place to keep excess or non seasonal items. I don't have to much room for my everyday items. Our weather Fluctuates within one day, we might start at 47° and reach 72° in one day; That is cold for Los Angeles, CA, USA. I also don't have a washing machine of our own, so I cannot be doing daily loads, this is to decluter at least 1/3 of our clothes, which I do think would open so much room, both in the bedrooms and closets.
I really appreciate your sense of humour!!! And that tea mug is very pretty.
Thanks Lynne!

Thank you Jodi!!
I struggle with getting my family on board! My husband buys new things as I pitch and donate! 🤦♀️
So happy I found you! 😎
Yes, you’ll get there.
So true about paper - the less the better!! My mail is always piling up.

This sounds like such a challenge for you. Sometimes people need to venture into the territory of therapy to address why they can't let things go
I love and am really helped by your videos. Thank you!

I hear you! I often just end up donating it after a while. I head to the donation centre weekly

My mother-in-law lives with us and I have had to be very firm on her getting cranky when the kids donate things she has bought for them.
Good for you!
I’m a trying hard minimalist
Good for you!
