    Procrastinators Unite! 😂 I tell myself (and my family) "put it away, not down." Along with "a task isn't finished until you've cleaned up and put everything back in its home." I'm a master procrastinator, but I'm finding the closer I get to minimalism the less I procrastinate with those nagging, little tasks.

      Haha, we all procrastinate sometimes! I’m glad you are seeing a change though

    This really hit me. The visual of the nagging person really helped me to see how clutter affects us. I also appreciate your ADHD perspective. I have struggled my whole life with this and I appreciate how you validated us as people, even though we struggle to function properly. You acknowledged that we do have low self-esteem / rejection because of people always being frustrated by us. Minimalism helps a lot, but it’s still a struggle to keep up on tasks & habits for me. Anyway just wanted to say thanks for this video. Very helpful!

    I love your videos ! I've been into minimalism and decluttering since my early 20s and I'm 30 now. I had a rough day at work and ended up in emerge and diagnosed with PSVT . So after an evening where I felt like I had no control I'm back home watching your vids relaxing because this content helps me feel in control when it comes to my clutter even if I don't have control on other parts of my life all the time. You're videos help people in more ways then just the obvious so thanks! From St.John's, Newfoundland

    Years ago, when my kids were in their teens, my keys went missing. Looked for months! Had to replace them all! About 6 months later I found them in the bottom of an infrequently used drawer my daughter had been looking in…. 🤦🏽‍♀️ After that I keep my keys clipped to a loop on my jeans or my purse AND no one can borrow my keys. My office building keys were on that keychain! Cost me a fortune to replace them. Plus the mental stress…..

    Cleaning out of desk draws whilst watching. I definitely feel those things mention about how we get used to looking at clutter. Feeling better with each space that has been cleaned up.

    My home is filled with NUTs and I know it bothers me because I tend to hide clutter in rooms that are less used 🙄. You are totally right about how clutter affects our brains - I'm committed to slowly working through the worst of it while trying to retain my sanity with everything else I have going on right now. I hate losing things such as purse, keys, glasses, etc. and have worked out a system to keep important items in their own special place. Love the peace and calm that results from a clutter-free environment - this is my motivation to keep going with the de-cluttering!

    YES. I love how you talked about neurodiverse people and clutter. I'm adhd and have been trying to declutter for the past few months. I swear I've been losing my mind, forgetting to do so many different things. Now that you mention it, I think that no longer having visual cues lying around has really been messing with me, since I've been trying to keep things put away and out of sight since that's been the general recommendation. Thank you for this! Do you have any advice for leaving visual cues out without making spaces look messy?

    • @MinimalistHome
      @MinimalistHome  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmmm, I wonder if you could just leave one thing out to cue the others? You can also try to slowly (one thing at a time) create habits so you can remember things. There are also some really great reminder aps

  • @silentscreams2842

    That clutter is the person telling you that you have failed.
    After dealing with a NPD, that sounds (to me) like manipulation.
