Please. However, I'd love to see you guys comment on the empty hand techniques of Assassins Creed (the one in the Victorian era). They were not just pretty brutal, but techniques I haven't seen before. For instance a few of the throws I can't tell if they exist in some martial art, but they look plausible enough...
My instructor always said "we're not here to have a glorious battle that provides some of us with medals, we're here to be lazy. And what do lazy soldiers do? Finish the fight as fast as possible so we can all get back to our comfortable lives."
"I'm lazy so I like to get the fight over with as quick as possible. That's why I get up earlier and train harder than anyone else, because I'm so lazy."
Honestly, the people who do the mocap for cod should hire Logan, part time, to have him show better moves that are both effective and also can please the gamers
Realism is very arbitrary in video games. If i wanted to make COD realistic, I'd start with a whole bunch of other stuff than knife kill animations. Most people just want flashy and brutal kills and that obviously goes against realism.
@@lastword8783 i mean you can still do realistic stuff and while looking flashy as hell. Just like the reaload animatioms of modern warfare, almost all of them are realistic yet they still look very cool. Just play wiht the camera angles, flow and timing of the actions, even the example logan gave will look flashy with little tweaks here and there
First off, shout out to the creator for a great video. Second of all, for the commenter….dude do you live under a rock? Almost every tik tok or short video like this is looped similarly.
There's a video of an old man talking about his days as a British Commando during WWII. He said that that stab the throat and cut out through the front method is the best way of killing a sentry. Very legit.
Don't forget that many moves in the game rely on luck! When you break or cut the leg, you don't know how they'll fall. They may scream like crazy or empty their magazine. That's the very opposite of a stealth kill...
@@LilTachanka Depends on the context. Behind enemy lines, it may be quiet. If you don't need stealth, why not just shoot him directly? In the worst case: knock him back and shoot.
Straight out from Fairbairn Syke training program. An old British commando said when you execute enemies, you don't slit the throat like basic training program but rather stab through the neck and punch it forward like Logan said. "You rip out alot more" he said
I like how the military uniform guy always cringes when a knife comes even remotely close to his face/neck area. That's the perfect mentality, anything can happen and it's better to be prepared at all times.
More video game breakdowns are always good. I'd like to see you guys breakdown the CQC sequences from some of the Metal Gear Solid games, specifically the ones in Snake Eater and V, they've got a mix of really cool knife and unarmed melee.
This is what I love about the last of us and last of us 2. Any time Ellie does a finisher, she always grabs them by their mouth, puts the blade in their neck for 2-3 seconds, then pulls out like you showed and they’re virtually silent the entire time. Pretty cool attention to detail. I loved those games
I remember seeing an old video where an old ex-SAS guy talked about the Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knife and how they used it in WW2. He emphasized the technique shown here of plunging the knife into the throat and pushing it out over the usual slitting of the throat.
I remember reading about an SAS or some other high level unit technique, instead of cutting the throat and having blood go out all over the place, you would stab at an angle downward somewhere between the shoulder and neck severing a major blood vessel, but all of the blood would be contained within the body
I think it depends on what type of blade you have, but I saw a documentary a while ago and the special forces guy said to actually have a completely silent takedown, you puncture the lung as the cavity is a vacuum. Thus collapsing their lungs and making them unable to breathe.
This is how Soap and Price did knife executions in the OG MW2 campaign. Now, a decade later, Infinity ward is putting as much stupid stuff like this in the game to try and get everyone to buy/grind for an execution.
Edit: Thank you all for the engagement. Remember, knife fighting is not a video game and is extremely serious. If you find yourself in a knife fight, run away. Your safety is first.
