      Holy smokes! That's an old video. Making me feel old. Really liked my 2wd Ford Ranger! Too bad I wasn't really into TH-cam video back then. I did a six-inch Skyjacker kit on my 2wd Ranger.

    With the Dana 44 TTB that I'm putting in my 96 F150, I'm leaving the suspension at stock height, should the caster and camber require much adjustment with 31" tires?

    • @rudedogii
      @rudedogii  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      All depends on the condition of the springs.

    • @WillsGarage91
      @WillsGarage91 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The springs from the donor look to be fairly new. I'm also putting in new polyurethane pivot bushings and new Moog ball joints.

    what do i need to do to correct my steering on my ford bronco ? i've replaced power steering gear box and had alignment done and my bronco steering is like driving the general lee, do i need to replace tie rods, cener link and drag link, ball joints?

  • @jesseneely4899
    @jesseneely4899 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    My front tires are bowed out bad on the front end. We replaced the ball joints. What exactly do you have to do with those bolts above the ball joints to get everything lined back up. Is there a manual or something somewhere online?

    • @rudedogii
      @rudedogii  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those cams just drop in. Pull them out and rotate to adjust castor and camber.
      But it takes special tools to align just right.
      Check the Toe first. If it's Toed in the tires will bow out and bow in if the Toes out.

Im having a hard time figuring out what is causing the popping. do you know or have any ideas that could help me out. alignment is straight also. thanks

      edward cullen did you ever check the clearance of the axle drive shaft to the steering knuckle? Sometimes the u-joint will hit the side of the knuckles if it doesn’t have enough clearance.

    I run fruehauf commercial truck / trailer air bags in my 1996 F-250 powerstroke and keep my camber perfect by eyeball depending on load the toe in is set with the truck empty and leveled and air is added as necessary to keep it there ; )

    can you make a video of adjusting or tightening the front end up? what i mean by that is when you drive at high speeds the steering wheel has more play and the truck likes to wander across lanes in the road. are there any ways to tighten it other then replace the steering gear?

    How the heck do I replace the leaf bushings I cannot get the spring to line back up with shackle

  • @rudedogii
    @rudedogii  12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    @cowboy346 Wow! Thats a good question. If I remember right. The F-250 TTB was leaf sprung. So bigger springs should work but you will also need to relocate the axel pivot brackets. Skyjacker used to make 8 inch brackets for Bronco/F-150s.
    So I think you maybe able to use 6 inch springs with longer shackles and the Skyjacker axel brackets for 8 inches of lift.

  • @55dfitz

    Tie rod ends and drag link will help a lot as will the ball joints was having the same problem tightened everything right up. You can also replace the axle pivot bushing and the radius arm bushings try upgrading to polyuethane ones

    • @captaincaveman8377
      @captaincaveman8377 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Doing it requires a modern alignment machine. It takes a special measurement and the correct bushing is indexed upon install to fix alignment. I would recommend you mark it and install it in the same position to get you going.

    • @terrysibley4849
      @terrysibley4849 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@captaincaveman8377 thanks. You know inquired at a few of the local shops. 1 wouldn't call me back, 1 said it was kabir intensive whatever that means, and 1 told me 1600, for ball joints and wheel bearings. So anyway for about 350 I've gotten new ball joints,wheel bearings, and cv axle u joints. So turn m trying to keep my gist down obviously. So if I can get the new camber bushings to n all I should have to pay for is the actual alignment. About 150 bucks. I can live with that. Seems anymore shops don't want to touch the old stuff. Thanks again.

    Sorry for the late reply. First jack up the front end buy the axles. One jack on each end. Use jack stands to be safe. Please. Now check for play.
    Grab the tire and try shaking right to left. Any little amount of play is a problem. By play I mean if it fills loose. Have some one look for loose parts as you shake the wheels. Do both one at a time. Next put a 2x4 or something under the wheels and try to lift. Look for play at the ball joints. Hope this helps.

  • @rudedogii

    You could have a wheel bearing problem or bad tie rods. The pivited is called camber so may may need to change the camber adjusters. Then again if the coil springs are too big the camber is beyond adjustment. I dont know with out seeing your lift.

    @lovemetalhatejuggalo Its hard to find a good front end shop that knows how to align a TTB. Even the shop I goto has hard time getting it right. Its a family business and when the dads there he will test drive my Bronco 2 or 3 times before his boys get it right. When the dads not there the boys dont take the time and its never right.
    Anyway, the toe is easy but has to be checked, 2 or 3 times after driving. If your tie rods are bad your wasting your time. Check my recent video.

    That's why ttb sucks ass, if not at ride height or up or down, it affects camber and caster, go straight axle, solves everything!

    • @94SexyStang

      A lot of the problems are from people Lifting them with CHEAP kits...and not knowing what they're doing. People still use TTB for rally racing at higher speeds.
