    By far the best Dana 50 TTB disassembly and assembly on the interwebs. Wish I had done this last year when I was "working" from home. But will tackle it soon.

    I wish you had shown how to pull the pinion out of the differential. Thanks for the video. It will be helpful.

    I had many OBS fords. The front suspension was always a fricken nightmare.
    Those 4wd brake rotors alone are crazy.

    Very thorough! Not a lot of information on these front ends available so its good to see a full disassembly to see how they work.

    Great video man. My 1990 f250 hub blew off the other day. Truck was driving perfect no vibrations, noise, shaking. Then after im leaving the gas station it felt like all my lug nuts were loose. Limped it two blocks to my shop then boom. Wheel flys off with the rotor and hub still bolted on. So needless to say this video is coming in handy.

    If you don’t have a spindle puller, careful use of a 4 lb dead blow mallet (the orange ones) can be used to gently walk the spindle out by bopping it left-right.

    I watched it because it said full disassembly, I need to replace the axle support arms and was hoping you'd be removing those too because it was advertised as removing everything. But alas, I'll keep looking for another video. Very informative for what it was though. Thanks for showing so much

    wow! this was a great video. Great camera quality, too!
    I just recently bought a 97 250 and I'm doing a whole front end on it. I think I'm gonna try doing the ball joints without taking the third member out, because my seals don't leak to my knowldge. honestly, even if they do, it's no worry because I always keep up on fluid levels. I was mainly worried about the 4wd hub, but upon further inspection that looks stupid simple to do! everything onward just looks like regular repairs. Thanks so much!

      @@fuelishgarage6587 yeah. since I commented I've ripped the entire front end apart. I'm doing U joints, ball joints, spindle bearings, wheel bearings, brake rotors, pivot bushings, shocks and steering, and I'm almost done with the driver side. Disassembly of my manual hubs was a little different than this, but it was easy so far. Same goes for pressing out the wheel bearing races! My 330k mile 97 will be driving smooth after all the new components! Later down the line I'm also going to do a new steering shaft and box, cheers!

    Hey great Vid ! two questions , Was it worth it as opposed to going the Dana 60 conversion? The spindle removal tool WOW I need that, where did you buy it? Ive had several of these trucks with the Dana 50 never found the love of the 50 but I never did a full rebuild thats why I ask was it worth it. Thanks!

    Awesomeness now we now how to fix that inner stub shaft seal. We might as well do both sides and replace the ujoint even thought it seems ok. But still why not since will have it out.

      They are actually easy to do with the truck put together but I noticed they were bad when I was under there and can feel the pull on the highway.

  • @Cesarcelio24

    Why didn’t you do the bearing inside the diff? The ones on both sides? Just wondering since I’ll be doing the job pretty soon

    • @fuelishgarage6587
      @fuelishgarage6587  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would if I had the money for a locker and the main reason I did this job was because the diff was leaking, I didn't replace them because my truck is fairly low mileage and I bet hasn't been driven in 4x4 all that much but they didn't make noise before I tore down too.
      I like the way you think tho replace while your there so you don't have do it again
