Good job! I have the older Marlin 7 (size L) that allows you to run internally and put on a PNW Ridge 125 (125mm travel) and at my height (5'10") it works for me. I opted for a Wolf Tooth lever which was worlds better in functionality than the type you have there. It was a game changer even on commutes because on those long descents even when you're in the saddle it allows you to drop your center of gravity and get more aerodynamic.
As for other upgrades, I went tubeless with the stock Connection rims and it was definitely a game changer. The front will feel way more playful and the increased traction is night and day even with the XC-30 pogo stick on the front. I would suggest looking at upgrading to the Kovee rims though. I had the front tire burp a couple of times because the bead doesn't sit properly - though my Clydesdale weight played a factor. One piece of advice, use the Stan's Notube valves with the removable cores (and buy a bunch to have on hand because they always seem to break,) pull the core several times during the season and check your fluid levels because they do dry out. I like the Mucoff pink stuff because it doesn't look like birdshit got on your rim - but if you burp on the trail it looks like Pepto Bismol.

Next upgrade is tires and forks. That’s what I plan to do on my 2022 marlin 7 anyway

I went with new Maxxis tires since this video was posted and this upgraded alone made a huge difference and how the bike handles the trail..
Thanks for your comment.. keep crushing the trail 🤙🤙

I am 5' 11" tall, would the 150mm work for me? I have a M/L Marlin 7. Thanks for the help!
