I like the drawbar settings she's using. It's refreshing to hear a guitar without effects nice and clean. And in the dictionary under double Shuffle should be that drummers picture!
Somewhere around 6:26 she shifts to a parallel universe like a swarm of bees with the right and left hands playing different parts and her left foot playing all the bass --wow
Nice. Jazz is universal! That organ...wow! A couple that "play" together remain together. Yutaka got it together. I am going to try to bring them to Tampa. They would sound great in a small auditorium with great acoustics. Perhaps, at Ruth Eckard Hall.
This reminds me of when she played Monterey. Jeff Hamilton on drums and I forget on guitar (Bernstein? Anyway, not hubby). The first song started out sweet and gentle & we were thinking 'okay, this will be a pleasant way to wait for the headliner' (I believe it was Dr. Lonnie that year) and then after a couple of choruses, she just opened up a can of Whoop ^zz! An audible gasp went up from the crowd and we were eating out of her hand the rest of the set. Please come back and see us, Atsuko.
When I was a teenager(1965) I used to sneak into bars . Back then they had live Performances and played this type of music. It uplifted my spirit and put me in a heavenly mood.
A little bit like Barbara Dennenlein because Atsuko can play the bass pedal lines and the manuals just like Barbara. The song covered here is Bobby Hebb's "Sunny". But there is one unique thing Atusko likes more often on the B3--the short upward glissando round-off (most jazz organists usually love to play the short glissandos going down).
Gloria Coleman, Linda Dachtyl, Trudy Pitts, Vanessa Rodrigues, Maggy Scott, Shirley Scott, Ethel Smith, Nicole Thorne, Kim Tibbs, and Cherry Wainer (Just the Hammond jazz players I know of -- Rachel Flowers, e.g., another female jazz organist, but not Hammond) (I'm partial to the Hammond :) )
ls it me or am l the only one to notice this lovely lady has bandaged fingers? - What is this all about? Anyway, it is so nice to see a beautiful face above this piece of musical furniture.
AGAIN Ms. Hashimoto leaves the somewhat over-publicized Midori Ono "in the dust"! ~~ I see Ms. Hashimoto has 3 of her digits, uh, shielded. AGAINST WHAT are they shielded?
As well as Atsuko Hashimoto, Gloria Coleman, Linda Dachtyl, Barbara Dennerlein, Trudy Pitts, Vanessa Rodrigues, Maggy Scott, Rhoda Scott, Shirley Scott, Ethel Smith, Nicole Thorne, Kim Tibbs, Cherry Wainer.
Ideal Dan these are lots of names I have to look up and enjoy! Nothing beats listening to a real B3, it’s such an organic (no punterino intended) sounding instrument, I just love it!
@@rolux4853 I'd start with Dennerlein, then Rhoda Scott. There's at least one duet on TH-cam with the two of them. After that, probably Pitts. Wainer is weird, but entertaining in her way. And yes, the original Hammonds with the tone wheels is unmatchable, especially through Leslies. Suzuki has done wonders, though. Their latest versions are remarkably good imitations of the original B3.
I love jazz at Hammond organ.
Me too!! I can listen jazz music played at Hammond organ for a long time
Like how generous these musicians are to each other. They’re really enjoying playing together.
... great title, big hammond organ performance of this lady at the keys incl. very good guitar player ( her husband ) & drummer 👍👏🙋♂️🍀🇩🇪
What a superb interpretation of a real classic top class musicianship all round great band. This is Jazz mastery at its finest.

Ms. Hashimoto is absolutely spellbinding
My daughter had a children's book or magazine that listed the Hammond organ as one of the most influential inventions of the 20th century.
What a magnificent performance
Come on girls take up the Hammond. We need you for the future!
Is it Britney Spears? I mean she’s talented isn’t she?!
Breathtaking and simply sublime and sunny all the way!
In my humble opinion, one should always quote the name of the song and its author(s)...this is "Sunny", song and lyrics by Bobby Hebb...
True!
Nice. Jazz is universal! That organ...wow! A couple that "play" together remain together. Yutaka got it together. I am going to try to bring them to Tampa. They would sound great in a small auditorium with great acoustics. Perhaps, at Ruth Eckard Hall.
She is super talented! Love her lines and rhythms!
Playing this tonight on my radio prorgam. Nothing short of 3 brilliant musicians
Great organist and performance! Atsuko opened a Big Can of WhoopAss on this tune! Blown away!!

Atsuko Hashimoto isn't she the lady who did all those nice Roland demos? Demonstrating many different organ styles. Nice to see her on Hammond.

It's a speed limiting device.
正直感動しました。これは(私に言わせていただければ)わが国のジャズ・オルガン史に残る名演であると信じます。ちょっとキレかかるところなんか、橋本氏のさりげない狂気を感じます。
The demos are nice, but she really pours it on here!
If this was a spaghetti dinner missing Parmesan cheese I couldn't find anything wrong.
gawww DAMMNNNN
Well,,what can one say ?? : Mr Smith would surely have approved : Stunning : Ian Morrison.

How many monster B3 ladies are there? Yikes
They are lurking out there. Really.
As well as Atsuko Hashimoto, Gloria Coleman, Linda Dachtyl, Barbara Dennerlein, Trudy Pitts, Vanessa Rodrigues, Maggy Scott, Rhoda Scott, Shirley Scott, Ethel Smith, Nicole Thorne, Kim Tibbs, Cherry Wainer.

Bobby McFerrin on drums? LOL
Please tell me the name of this song some one
The name of this song is "Sunny."
Drummer could have helped accentuate the the crescendo of her playing and followed her on that journey. Otherwise pretty dam good
Better da. Rhoda Scott 👍
橋本夫妻もうまいが、ラリーさん抜群にうまいです?プレイは無いけれど、じっくりとプッシュしてビートを刻んでくれます。また取りに復活してほしいです。
plays like a girl.
I don t like how she play
