Thank you so much for this informative video and your clear instructions. Do you use a protective mat under the card stock with your ScanNCut. I read somewhere that using the Foil Quill with the ScanNCut will void the warranty and that the silicone mat protects the platform?
I have used a metal shim (the type used for embossing machines) and I now use the magnetic mat from We R Memory Keepers. I have also done it straight on my regular mat. I have heard also that the warranty is voided, not sure that would be true unless it was the magnetic sheet that voided the warranty. I have also heard of people using the stamp silicon mat that brother sell. I have an SDX model s I now only use the magnetic mat, and I love it. I have had no issues at all with the Fol Quill itself and you can get some great results.
According to the publicity by We R Memory Keepers it operates in all the ScanNcut models. You will find the list here www.foilquill.com/foil-quill-faq/
Nice it looks a little de-bossed if I’m not mistaken. It does a good job have you tried the brother version sound a bit messier than this easy gadget. 😊💜 btw your alcohol ink card looks great so vibrant and the gold makes it pop.
Thanks. I did not bother with the Brother Version but love the Foil Press. It does look slightly debossed but it looks great. Thanks about the alcohol ink, I am loving that as well. The gold is Decofoil laid on the slightly dried ink and rubbed on. Works a treat.
Do you mean it started at the end? Sometimes it depends on how you made the file and the order of the drawing. I guess as long as it finishes as well the order does not matter too much :)
@@lesle51 no. It read perfectly there, but for some reason, it was drawn flipped. Maybe I got the settings wrong? With this machine, a wrong click and things go awry lol. I will try tomorrow again, and update.

Tenía miedo de usarla, pero una vez viendo como se hace ya agarre más confianza para poder hacer mi primer trabajo.
Glad it helped
Really useful mine had absolutely zero instructions in the box, I have different colour ends is only one for the scan and cut?
Glad it helped
Hola ya trate de hacer los mismos pasos y la mía no rellena las letras y está configurada tal cual tú lo haces, me puedes ayudar de favor?
Very informative video! Would you know if the WRMK foil pens fit all the Brother SNC machines?

what pressure and draw speed do you use with the fine quill
As I have the sdx the pressure was set to auto. The speed was 3

I'm new to ScaNCut. How did it just foil the word, and not the scalloped circle?
To foil you set the item to draw, to cut you set the item to cut. In Canvas Desktop this can be changed on the toolbar at the top.
@@lesleberry But how do you keep it from foiling the circle as well as the word?
@@CynicalSim the circle a cut line, only draw lines will foil
hi, can you tell me what's the heater?
It is in the point of the blade. If you have a Cricut they now have a similar product that does not heat up.
Can I use it with a CM300?
Yes it works on most cutting machines
@@lesle51 That's awesome! Thank you :)
Thank you.
You're welcome. Please let me know if there is anything you would like help with
Mine foiled backwards. Have no idea why...

@@lesle51 no, I meant the word was drawn mirrored... I chose one of the files in the machine, just to try.
@@zatskyachilds5512 That is strange. Did it show it that way in the screen?

zatskya Childs let me know how it goes. Ifvitt does it again let me know which pattern it is and I will have a look. Good luck
