Will you be doing any demo with the Scan N Cut with this mat?

Are you sure instructions say to place magnet on top portion of foil? Good video!
I think you are right that it doesn't say to do that. I just do because it holds even better. It can get in the way of the rollers though so that has to be considered.

Thank you! I should have just said UK then because the site name had UK in it. Sorry to forget that the UK is more than England. I have a friend from London who always refers to the UK or Britain so I’ve been lazy in not remembering there are others besides England. My apologies.
Hsn offered the foil quill pen this past week, but I just use my regular foil quill to write freehand with. I first realized this when I had gotten the quill and it hit washi and didn't penetrate to the paper. So, I decided to try to save my project by doing it by hand and it worked. I figured that it would because I have the WRMK original bulky foil pen and it is the same premise.

Can you do this without the magnetic mat? 😅
You can foil with the Foil Quill without it. The advantage is that you don’t have to mess with tape to hold the foil over your foiling image. The magnets and metal mat hold the foil instead.

Yes. That’ll work. You just need washi or other low tack tape to pull and hold the foil tightly while the tool foils. The mat is definitely optional. Have fun! It’s a satisfying feeling to see a beautiful pattern in foil when you’re done.
I noticed on the packaging, while you were discussing using a writing tool, that the Brother Scan n Cut SDX was listed but not the CM350. Do you know if it will work with the Scan N Cut 2 (CM350)?
I'll take another look at the packaging. I do know the foil quill itself works on my CM350.

Thank you for such an excellent video about the foil quill mat. You have been really good at demonstrating exactly how to use it. I have really been thinking about getting it. But, have been waiting for a really good review that shows how to use it . I wasn’t sure if it was worth the investment. But, now I am really thinking of going to get it ASAP. And I like how you pointed out about the pen to use with it. I am wondering if some other type of pen shaft to use instead also might work. That sounds like another good option. Thank you again for your excellent video. I really love the quality of the production very sharp and clear. Also I love no distraction of background music.

I just ordered a magnetic mat on ebay (seller: Swing Design) for $19.99 (free shipping). Not sure that's a good price or not because had nothing to compare to. Probably get cheaper over time.

i bought the magnetic mat also...I think it works great!!! I find no need to add any magnet to the top...it stays fine with only 3 magnets...I made a very nice unicorn from cricut design space and also words....saves sooo much time without the tape!!!
That's awesome! I agree that's it's faster and just less of a headache without the tape. I am glad to know it holds well enough without a magnet at the top. I just wanted to be sure. Thanks for sharing your experience! Janet
Mine came with a bent corner as well used a pliers to flatten using mine freestyle not in my machine which I rarely use
Fortunately the bent corner isn’t a big deal. I like it freestyle too. My latest video demos the freestyle. Thanks my friend!
What if you try using a small heat press on the cormor to flatten it back out? Or a set of heavy books with no pattern on the cover that could leave an imprint. Only place the test articles on the dent, do not go further in.

Great demo! Do the magnets hold well enough to use fill feature on brother scan n cut?
Yes. Very well but I have the older Brother and the don’t recommend using the board due to depth. I use tape for the Brother to hold it and that’s worked fine.
Ok this may sound like a dumb question but I have the first cricut with cartridge if I take out the cutting device how does the picture transfer to the foil?

It is not available yet in the US. It will probably be several months before it is widely available.

Have u used the mat on the Cricut maker?
I don't have the Maker. I have used it on the Cricut Explore. Per WeRMemory Keepers, it will work on the Maker. Be aware that Cricut says using it or any Foil Quill product could void their warranty. My Explore is long out of warranty so I'm not worried but honestly, I can't see what harm it does to the machine. Now that I've used it so much, I wouldn't hesitate to use it on a Maker if I had it. Do what you are comfortable with. It does make using the Quill a WHOLE lot easier!

Can you just use the foil piece that is usually used with the cricut?
I’m not 100% sure of your question but you can use any foil piece that is heat and pressure sensitive. It won’t work with deco foil as that needs a glue adhesion. Cricut foils will work with the Foil Quill. Thank you for asking your question.
The foil transfer tip that fits in position A on a cricut air 2, can this magnetic mat be used with that foil tip?
Yes. That works. No problem using the magnetic mat with any Cricut including the Air 2.

How did you adhere the two mats together?
I used 2” double sided adhesive tape because it was an old mat that wasn’t sticky anymore. If you were to use a newer mat, it would be sticky enough to hold it. I decided to dedicate that mat to the foil quill and have left it that way. Janet

Interesting! I don’t feel it’s a big deal because the bend was on such a small area. Had it been further down, I would have felt differently. I love the mat though!
I also feel the same I AM NOT GOING TO REQUEST ANOTHER i WAS JUST SAYIN THAT MY MAT WAS ALSO TURNED UP IN THE SAME AREA --i HAVE USED MY MAT AND LOVE IT- NO THIS IS NOT A BIG DEAL I AGREE PERHAPS JUST AN ERROR WHEN SHIPPED-

What is the name of the watercolor pens?
Hi! I'm sorry I didn't notice your comment when I should have. Thanks for visiting and watching. I used these Zig Clear Color markers. Lots of colors and super easy to control. You can add water by brushing on wet paper or by brushing onto a mat and adding water. You can also color without adding water. The color remains more intense that way. These are very popular with card makers. I originally saw them used by others for quite a while before I bought them. I wouldn't part with them now! Here's the Amazon link: amzn.to/32AUokt
