Even though this trailer makes me more hopeful about the gameplay, I will still miss the 2D graphics of the first 2. That's the thing that makes you feel that you are not only playing a South Park game, but being inside a South Park episode.
I truly love the 2d feel of making me want to feel like I’m in a episode but I’m also excited to see this game with 3d and how it will keep South Park still core to its heart with its comedy and story telling
While a lot of people are kinda disappointed at that Snow Day isn't an RPG (including me a tad), I'm also glad that Trey and Matt decided to do this instead of an RPG. I would rather have Trey and Matt do something they genuinely want to do instead of them doing something only because they feel like they have to.
Yeah, they've never been ones to do anything because they felt they had to, and that's why it always turns out so awesome. They do what they want, it's a labor of love, and the results are always great.
Yeah, I'd agree that a third Obsidian RPG would be best. But with them busy on Grounded updates and The Outer Worlds 2, this still looks fun and maybe the third in the Obsidian trilogy can still happen at some point.
I think the game is going to be really fun but I am still really mixed on the graphics I wish they did something similar to Demon Turf a game that combines 3d environments and 2d characters
Being afraid of change is a very human thing, so I understand the skepticism from the fanbase about this change in direction. But, I argue that if this game was in the same format as the previous two, the RPG format, then people would still find a way to complain about it being samey. So it's kind of a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" deal. I'm excited for this, it's different, and different is fun! Plus, the multiplayer aspect will give the game way more longevity and replayability compared to the previous games.
disagree. they could have improved a lot yet in that style. i'd rather feel like i'm in SP rather than this shit. i was really hoping just a bit more variety in combat of FBW. and more side missions with notable characters.
i actually like the new graphical style. I get the appeal of something that looks exactly like the show, but this style inovates while staying faithful through the jerky animation and flat faces.
I think having the right expectations is key here. As much as I would LOVE another 2.5D RPG, that is something we weren't ever promised and that's just not what this game is. I think for what it is, I am also cautiously optimistic and having the expectations in mind to not expect the RPG level play think it can be pretty fun. I prefer the 2D, but the 2D does limit the type of gameplay you can do, so I'm interested to see what type of gameplay the 3D can bring to the table. While the characters look a little weird to me, the map looks pretty cool in 3D so I hope there can be a lot of exploring the town in that medium.
I plan to play this solo with the bots. I don't like playing games with other humans. I think as long as the story is good and as funny and entertaining as the past games I'm all in. The graphics are growing on me now.
Yeah. I was worried first. We will see how it goes. Maybe it can be good but I’m very afraid it’s gonna be like Naruto to Boruto Shinobi Striker that it’s an online only multiplayer type fighting game on different stages. I hope not and it’s a real fleshed out story like the two games by Ubisoft and not an arena focused fighting game.
This game is looking to be like a 3D Castle Crashers or Gauntlet Legends type game. Which isn't necessarily bad but why go down this linier route when the Southpark games are known for it's exploration and RPG mechanics at this point in time? I get trying new things but once you've played Gauntlet Legends, Castle Crashers and just to add Golden Axe and Streets of Rage you've kind of played it all. So I am worried this is more a cash-grab than it is a deeply interesting game. If it was up to me I would of loved to see them bring back that old idea where they tried making a 3D platformer akin to Simpsons Hit and Run, always loved Platformers/Collecathon Platformers and I don't think that genre would detract from the series at all, huge explorative world of Southpark, Collectables, Skill trees to add more oomph to your combat potential, puzzles and the humor we've all come to expect from the series.
While I do think it looks really good, I definitely wish we had gotten another RPG. I personally really dislike multiplayer combat (to a point where I don't even do raids in recent Pokemon games) so for it to be the focus... Not for me.
My biggest concern is how much of the plot will be a rehash of the Stick of Truth. Even if it's just the first part of the game until a twist happens, even that would feel SoT-y, and it's not a good sign if the first part of this game is just a less engaging retrread of SoT.
I really feel like South Park is one of the games that benefits from having it set in the same town. Just like the Yakuza series, the town changes depending on the state of the town in the series. I really wish they kept the 2D aesthetics, but I understand why they didn't as it's hard to create an action game with how stiff the characters can be. They could've also went with a different theme, it's humans vs elves all over again.
It seems like most of the gameplay is in random wooded areas and mountains which is a bummer cause I loved being able to explore all of South Park so hopefully it’s still a hub area at least
I love all of the little Easter eggs they put into the game to give more life to it from the show. Even though it’s a different style of gameplay, I’m happy to see them expanding and trying out new things. I’m sure we will get another game in the style of the originals. A lot of people also forget about the N64 game that was a first person shooter style. I love South Park, so regardless I’m going to get this day 1.
Funfact from uni I had a talk from a producer at THQ Nordic yesterday and we watched the Snow Day trailer at the end of said talk shortly before it went online officially. It was still unlisted and had 5 views lol

And if u want another RPG South Park game just replay the old ones. Be happy that we even getting another SP game.
Cant really say im very excited but I hope its fun and I understand doing a game like this, akin to the releases before the stick of truth. I also have fears its going to be one of THOSE online based games of our age where people forget about it because it releases with little content and it almost immediately dies before it can those planned updates. Its just a worrying trend ive seen in games like that one crash bandicoot battle thing. Also the 3d models are still not as charming or appealing as the 2d style but I completely understand that the graphics had to change for this new style of game.
Matt and Trey talked about how they stopped companies using the IP to make shitty games and they would only make a game if they had a good idea for one. They were heavily involved with tsot and tfbw and this looks like it's back to a crappy game just with the south park IP. I'm hoping it's not but I'm not optimistic
If Matt and Trey are involved, then I have faith, I understand the 3D art as they moved away from turn based combat, anything South Park I usually really like so even if the game isn't amazing I'm sure ill still have fun just running around the south park world and enjoying the ranchy story :)
I just hope it's not a boring "beat-em-up" type of game. Hoping for interesting weapons, cool collectibles, easter eggs, some exploration, etc. The comedy aspect will definitely help it do well. I have no issues with that.
Seems to be almost a 3D open world Stick of Truth sequel. While it may not be what we were expecting/wanted you can't blame them for trying something new with the franchise.
Why do ALL companies now a days absolutely REFUSE to give the consumers WHAT THEY WANT!? Seriously, do they have something against making money and making people happy?
Not what I was expecting, but in a good way. I love them are trying the 3D cause their new opening for the series looks great. I’m mainly playing for the jokes and having your friends in there with you is a plus. It’s awesome how the newer RPG games was long episode. A bunch of kids larping, basically any kid before the rise in gaming
My gripe against this game is actually not the 3D graphics (They look pretty good and faithful to the show’s animation), but that it doesn’t seem to have the same focus of story, witty dialogue and character that were all very fun and make you feel like you’re seeing the show, and instead seems to be for similar to L4D
So sad day. In your sponsor ad I saw Final Space and it reminded me that it is no longer available. But good day because of the graphic novel finishing the story
I suppose I'll save my final judgment till it actually comes out, but as of now, it does not look like something I'm going to be interested in playing.

Why are you changing the game? I loved the old game and want another like it! I personally love what I see in the trailers and will be getting this and trying it out.
They are clearly selling out for the Nintendo switch, this game looks like it could be on the app store in my opinion. I hope it's at least funny but just wait for actual reviews before buying this tbh
@@lf2417 I get what you mean, but pretty graphics does not fit the artstyle of South Park imo. Look at Lethal company, that game could be run on a casio, point being it does not make or break the game :)

I dont know if it was meant to be a secret that the deluxe edition comes with the first season pass free because it tries to be vague on the steam page but on the PlayStation store they go all out and state the following: *Digital Deluxe* SOUTH PARK: SNOW DAY! Base Game Underpants Gnome Cosmetics Pack SOUTH PARK: SNOW DAY! Season Pass
At first I thought it was going to be an enhanced remake/redo of the N64 FPS game. Just expanded massively to add the new characters and better FPS controls.
I hope so, i LOVED the other games as it really looks like you are playing an episode of the show. So hopefully these new graphics are just as fun as the others.
4:03 if the cosmetics are going to “wide” im still hoping if they will bring back the kenny parka costume and lets you choose any color. the kenny parka costume is my favourite cosmetic because it really feels like me, i wear a big black coat to school, it surprisingly can cover over my face which is really funny.
This looks like a live service game using South Park as the hook. It doesn't look good at all, but hopefully I am wrong. I am old enough to remember South Park on the N64... so I know the depths of what is possible.
@@coreymckee4844 Dude. I'm not stupid. I know you can play with other players, that's the whole point of the game, but some people are just not fortunate enough to have friends who aren't constantly busy, and playing games like these with AI controlled partners makes the game boring to me.
It seems like you're not gonna be a villain like Butters teased in the post-credit scene of TFbW, which I'm kinda bummed about. But I'm pretty excited about the rest of the game

We had 3D models of the South Park kids for Quake II when we played with bots. There was even one of “Hitler” Cartman.
Gamers: We want innovative and fresh games that does not feel like the same as the old games.
Developers innovating and making a new and different game
Also gamers: What!? Why are you changing the game? I loved the old game and want another like it!
I personally love what I see in the trailers and will be getting this and trying it out.
They are clearly selling out for the Nintendo switch, this game looks like it could be on the app store in my opinion. I hope it's at least funny but just wait for actual reviews before buying this tbh
@@lf2417 I get what you mean, but pretty graphics does not fit the artstyle of South Park imo. Look at Lethal company, that game could be run on a casio, point being it does not make or break the game :)
Yeah not into multiplayer horde like games at all just wish it was a single player rpg like the first 2 big disappointment.
Next time you upload plz use a decibel filter. I’m listening to this with headphones and several times the volume went way to loud. Only the ad read had consistent volume.
& the fact that it’s only $29.99 is proof lol
That’s an embarrassing fallacy to even consider lol
@@Johnny2Cellos Hate to give you the bad news, but the reason why its only 30 dollars.... well.... Its going to be a seasonal pass game.. Yeah, I'm hoping its not true, but if you check the deluxe edition, it comes with a free "SNOW DAY Season Pass", which really can only mean one thing....... 😰
I dont know if it was meant to be a secret that the deluxe edition comes with the first season pass free because it tries to be vague on the steam page but on the PlayStation store they go all out and state the following:
*Digital Deluxe*
SOUTH PARK: SNOW DAY! Base Game
Underpants Gnome Cosmetics Pack
SOUTH PARK: SNOW DAY! Season Pass
I’m getting it it’s South Park I trust them
It's not what I wanted or expected but I'll for sure give it a shot because it's south park and they have been on fire lately
lets just be honest, we'd all rather have a third 2d game
I think it looks pretty cool
Im kinda worried, Southpark is about crazy stories and if the story lacks I’d be sad
i am excited for just the co-op alone and i dont mind not getting another rpg they dont have to make rpgs only so we'll see how this game goes
I’m gonna play it. I don’t mind it’s in 3D
overlook is probably the area where they all stand and wave at the end of the intro
You missed out on the ad. Should have called it the Brack Friday Bunduru.
It's not my style of game at all but it being a South Park game I will get it day one just to support them even though they're rich as fuck
Awesome video man!! Just subbed!!
This looks amazing, real south park fans will definitely appreciate this
The gameplay looks nice but it seems to be more like PVZ Garden Warfare, which is a good thing. Hope there is more details in the future.
I think that flame thor is a wizard like character
As long as the comedy is on point I'm here!
This looks like a live service game using South Park as the hook. It doesn't look good at all, but hopefully I am wrong. I am old enough to remember South Park on the N64... so I know the depths of what is possible.
I'm not opposed to a Diablo-esque dungeon crawler, but I guess I was also expecting some Baldur'sGate/Divinity style RPG,
I really hope the AI controlled co-op partners are optional since that is also what ruined Kirby Super Star and Kirby Star Allies for me.
Did u even watch the video? U can play with players. The game will just default to AI when not with real people. So not truly solo
@@coreymckee4844 Dude. I'm not stupid. I know you can play with other players, that's the whole point of the game, but some people are just not fortunate enough to have friends who aren't constantly busy, and playing games like these with AI controlled partners makes the game boring to me.
I don't even know why I even need to clarify this considering it's so obvious I'm talking about singleplayer.
I just wanted a Tegridy Farms South Park RPG
It seems like you're not gonna be a villain like Butters teased in the post-credit scene of TFbW, which I'm kinda bummed about. But I'm pretty excited about the rest of the game
Is anyone curious how the platinum trophie is going to be?😮❤❤
Does anyone know what install size is on PS5?
