Same lol! When they were all looking around expectantly like 'Hmmm if only there was someone who knows how to perform abortions and shrink 🤔" I was like 'oh hell no' and walked out the back tent door and saw the explosion and had to sit through the entire credits and could not stop laughing.
On launch the last abort minigame (on PC) had a bug that you couldn't play with the controller, so I fucked up... And then, on PS3, for some reason, the screen before enter Mr. Slave frozen, and then I accidentally walked out of the tent.
Cartman's line during the cutscene before the final boss where he says "can we skip this? like, hit the skip button or something?" is so much better due to the fact that you actually can't skip that cutscene, if you try it just says you can't skip it. trust me, I've tried.
Both Stick of truth and Fractured but whole are great games, It's so lived in and immersive. I also loved how well written they are, from plot to dialogues.
I really like SoT but TFBW has to be my favourite. After finishing SoT I never really felt like replaying it- on the other hand I did many runs on TFBW, probably because I enjoy its combat system, being able to play with more than just two characters and character creation (as in classes and attacks) more than what SoT has to offer. I still think they're both incredible games tho.
genuinely one of my fave games of all time, the perfect version of a tv/movie branded video game because it actually feels like you are in an real episode of South Park but is also entirely new in its storyline and isn’t a direct adaptation of any specific episode’s plot. i wish they would make another video game, they have so many settings and mechanics in show that would be awesome to get to play through them.

Both are top notch, but while Stick of Truth definitely had a lot more shock value stuff that caused me to lose my shit laughing, while Fractured But Whole had a lot more character interactions between characters from the show, (and just gave more characters screentime to begin with.) More than anything though the fact that Stick of Truth is braindead easy no matter what difficulty you play on and the game doesn't exactly have a lot of class variety hurts it compared to the sequel in my opinion. I loved my first run to death, but I don't often find myself replaying it in full because of this (and because the game kinda drags in the latter half with all the nazi zombie crap and the main plot sorta taking the backseat to doing sidequests to build up an army.) Fractured But Whole's gameplay feels a lot more refined with creative systems in place to help it stand out and a respectable level of difficulty on Mastermind or Diabolic difficulty levels on top of way more classes, abilities and party members that almost all have a niche in different party compositions.

Stick of Truth is more batshit (in a good way) and I prefer the setting more but fractured is also great and the gameplay is leagues better. That’s how I’ve always seen it
I liked all the different completely overpowered builds you could do at the end. It felt like a reward for collecting stuff and doing side activities and just was a great power trip at the end.
I swear to god the most powerful build in the game is putting bleedx3 on something ranged that hits multiple targets while slapping on health gain from hits and PP gain from healing, oh and also, take 250 hp on top of your health steal. I have a nine hit super ball that is basically guaranteed to inflict bleed 5 on multiple enemies, heals on every bounce, refunds PP on every bounce, and if I can do even 20% of the total enemy health on screen, they all just die after a round. And this is just with patches and strapons! Like, I haven't even bothered with any other kind of build, bleed and overclocked healing is the king shit build. My outfit is effectively cosmetic, it doesn't matter what I wear, or what melee I have. Makes me wish there was a new game plus. You don't even get the full zombie killer build until canada, the Holy Mossad Knife is there.
The Parents coming to find you genuinely scared the ever-loving sh*t out of me when I played this when I was younger. There's something about how they just track you down freaked me out lol.

The south park games in general have a great feeling to them that barely any game adaptations of series can pull off so well. I honestly can't wait for the new game to come out, when they dropped a tease last year I was pumped for it ever since.
This one for sure IS the closest to capturing the feel, but I do wanna give a special shout out to Strongbad's Cool Game 4 Attractive People for not only feels right in step with the original web series, but is possibly just the single best thing ever made related to Homestead Runner. This game, Stick of Truth, made me feel the same way
this game had me hooked from the first few minutes! i haven't kept up with modern SP in a long time, but the games show the appeal of the series perfectly. not to mention the character creation aspect and getting to see your little avatar hanging out and befriending the characters is just adorable!

I remember getting this game on my 8th birthday, and I absolutely loved it. My most recent playthrough I picked Jew, and let me be honest, it's the most fun out of the classes.

I remember how excited I was for the first game to come out and I didn't get to play it until a few years later where I made it to college and just buy games for myself without my parents judgment. It was definitely fun to immerse yourself into the South Park world and make your sona while you're at it. It also does make you miss the old South Park before PC Principle arrived. Some of the things from South Park might be outdated, but still hilariously fun to play.
I think FBW is much better as a game overall. In terms of writing and humor I think it depends what you like more. If you're more a fan of the shock factor over the top humor then you'll like SoT more, but if you put more value in character interactions (and like having more characters from the show get more screentime,) then you'll like FBW more. But as far as gameplay goes, Fractured But Whole's gameplay is unique with strategy elements and lots of different approaches depending on your class and party comp, something that all comes together neatly when you play on higher difficulties and the game starts asking more of you in difficult encounters. Stick of Truth's gameplay isn't bad, but it feels like an easier Paper Mario with less combat variety and worse partner balance. It's not bad, but being braindead easy even on the highest difficulty really makes it kinda start to drag in the latter half of the game (the game in general drags a bit in the second half.) There's a reason I've replayed Fractured But Whole in full like... Four times, but barely managed to do two in Stick of Truth.

South Park has set the bar for amazing video game adaptations. SoT was an amazing game and TFBW was an amazing sequel and the DLC was also amazing too. I can't wait to see more.
Love this game!! You just reminded me of the first time I got to the snuke part and was tasked with going inside somebody. I said oh, HELL NO, turned and left the room. That triggered the bomb and the credits roll on the game. I laughed my ass off.
I can appreciate the love and care that went into Stick of Truth, but it wasn't for me as I am not a fan of Turn Based Combat that SOT used. But The Fractured But Whole, that's an amazing game. One of my faves. Because it has the love and care that SOT had as well as a fun turn based mechanics with being able to get away from attacks.

My favorite thing about stick of truth is how well they recreated the feeling of childhood imagination, where fighting with sticks and building castles of cardboard are instead epic battles and great kingdoms
The two South Park RPG games are easily two of the most authentic licensed video games ever produced. The sheer care and craftsmanship that went into them cannot be understated. Both are also just really good and fun video games as well.
These two games are such a blast to play. I loved how well they captured the South Park vibe. It’s been a while since I’ve played either one, but this has got me in the mood to pick them back up for another playthrough. 👍
honestly, in terms of the sp games, i kind of prefer fractured but whole, but i still really love revisiting stick of truth. such a solid game and such an impressive feat to make such a good game that really feels like you get to be in the show.
I'm a huge south park fan I always pictured how the characters would interact with me if I was in south park and this game along with the fractured but whole really satisfy that idea and makes me so happy
this game nailed the introductions of characters and for someone who watches SP religiously it still felt fresh but at the same time they still kept it true to the character they introduced. classic Butters getting beat up then befriends you, eric I assume appointing himself the best and you have to respect his "authorita!", kyle being sick of cartman and starts his own kingdom, stan being kyles right hand man. Not just the kids either, the adults were introduced in classic sp fashion. truly a fantastic game that left out almost little to nothing
as someone who isnt a big rpg or story based gamer, this is the only game ive paid attention to the story while playing the game usually i just watch a youtube video on the stories afterwards
I just started replaying Stick of Truth again this week! It’s so much fun, and the classic South Park humor comes through just perfectly. During the battle against Cartman, I laughed so hard at the dueling farts that I forgot what I was doing and got myself killed. In my opinion, the only ways to improve upon the game would be to just add more content, branching paths, and maybe a hard mode since the game does get pretty easy at points. Still the exploration, gameplay, and story are all incredibly enjoyable and the game is amazing to me.
What a great breakdown, showing that the entire game on top of being an amazing South Park episode and fun RPG, is also a celebration of everything South Park is. That is also beautiful, genuinely. It's a game and a series I hold dearly!
Both The Stick of Truth and Fractured, But Whole brilliantly combined the feel of watching South Park with playing a good RPG. I am extremely hopeful for a third one!

I finished this game for the first time a few days ago. I played as a Warrior, and let me just say; the bleed mechanic is broken as hell. By the end of the game I had a ranged weapon that could hit multiple enemies multiple times, inflict bleeding on each hit, and (thanks to weapon patches) set all hit enemies on fire. I quickly learned that Bleeding and Burning both bypass defense and are great for N@zi Zombie enemies since they’re immune to Gross-Out
Such a great game looking forward to the second instalment that really tightened up the game play I feel hopefully a third game will iron out the remaining issues and have just a little more length to completion.
As a Canadian who’s never played this game I’m laughing over how they decided to go with Banff over Edmonton, would’ve loved to see a low tech West Edmonton Mall

The marketing for the game was top tier too! i remember when the trilogy about black friday and the game of thrones and console wars stuff came out i watched it on tv and saw at the end of the last episode they transitioned into the trailer for the stick of truth
The Stick of Truth was the game who introduced me to South Park and I loved it. Before this game I knew the look on the main cast (Cartman, Stan, Kyle and Kenny). I can only agree this game feels like a long South Park episode.
My dad waited a while to get a PS3, but when he did he got me The Stick Of Truth and an Adventure Time game called Explore the Dungeon because I Don’t Know. While ETDBIDK was fun, The Stick Of Truth is easily one of the best games I’ve ever played, and it might be my favorite game of all time.
Plenty of fun, but not without its flaws, either. In my mind, there are 3 big ones: the grind for cash needed for completionist trophies like buying out shops, the main story feeling surprisingly short with a lack of postgame/NG+ to make up for it, and potentially overly punishing action commands (defensively). That last point might take some elaboration, but even being well equipped i would often find myself dangerously low on health if my attention lapsed or i went into a late game state with a lot of rust. In the worst cases, me or my buddy would be one-shot by a mistimed guard, meanwhile i have enough regeneration perks that even the late game dire aids did nothing to me as i maintain high health. Sure, item rules help a bit, but they almost feel too generous when first starting out to the point it encourages a degree of stubbornness not to use them.
the fact that the games are outstanding for their genre only add onto the long list of reasons why south park is one of the best animated series in history. I fuckin love matt & trey because you can tell they really do care. Even if their work becomes stagnant over the years, they're still going strong.
Seems like I’m the outlier, but I preferred the combat of TSOT in comparison with TFBW. Actually, it’s not really the combat system, but how the combat skills are unlocked: It felt way more impactful in TSOT to find new items since anywhere could lurk the one that made an even better addition to your current setup, or gave you an idea for a different one. That lower-level weapons necessarily became under-levelled while progressing forced you to make use of what you found more recently. In TFBW, the new classes are just handed to you by progressing the main story, and I didn’t feel a lot of strong synergies opening up when you got the chance to mix all classes by the end. The artefacts gave me the impression to mostly just increase numbers with no real “that works great together” feeling, just a “huh, guess this one’s got a higher percentage for what I’m using anyway, so I’ll take that”. I think it would’ve been cool to find the actual combat abilities in the world as well, since finding a new move seems way more impactful than said move just having higher numbers because of what you found. Otherwise, the flexibility movement- and targeting-wise was a nice improvement over TSOT.
Can‘t wait to hear your take on TBFW, especially comparing with TSOT! I‘m guessing it’s a subsequent playthrough? My playthrough of TFBW is still fairly recent, so I don’t have first hand experience, but I thought the way classes are handled might also negatively affect replayability in gameplay terms, so I‘m looking forward to your review!
I would very much disagree. Like for starters, Stick of Truth is so easy no matter what difficulty you play on, whereas higher difficulties on Fractured can really make you strategize or tackle something different based on your current party composition. The claim about artifacts is very incorrect. It probably comes off that way if you just play easier difficulties, but when the game actually starts pushing the player on higher difficulties you really want to make sure to boost certain things over others based on who you build your team around. Are you focusing status damage or knockback damage? Do you have characters present who are squishy? You may want ally health. Have a mixed party or a character who doesn't do well at Ailments or Knockback (like Call Girl,) you'll probably want crit damage. In the same vein the class system starts off a little limiting, but unlocking multiple classes gives a ton of flexibility to build exactly the way you want to fill in roles that you aren't covering with other party members or even doubling down to be extra effective at that. The DNA also offers an extra layer of flexibility to tailor your character based on what you want to aim for at that moment in combat. Frankly while Stick of Truth's combat is servicible, I would go so far as to put Fractured But Whole's on the higher end of a lot of RPGs out there, it's very well designed all around and offers a unique spin on things to help it stand out compared to other games in the genre, while Stick's combat isn't bad, but lacks any real difficulty and generally feels like more of a baby's first RPG than even Paper Mario (the style of combat the game heavily takes inspiration from.)

As someone that doesn't like South Park, I adored the game. It's crazy how good it came out as a video game.
The south park games in general have a great feeling to them that barely any game adaptations of series can pull off so well.
I honestly can't wait for the new game to come out, when they dropped a tease last year I was pumped for it ever since.

This one for sure IS the closest to capturing the feel, but I do wanna give a special shout out to Strongbad's Cool Game 4 Attractive People for not only feels right in step with the original web series, but is possibly just the single best thing ever made related to Homestead Runner. This game, Stick of Truth, made me feel the same way

this game had me hooked from the first few minutes! i haven't kept up with modern SP in a long time, but the games show the appeal of the series perfectly. not to mention the character creation aspect and getting to see your little avatar hanging out and befriending the characters is just adorable!

I remember getting this game on my 8th birthday, and I absolutely loved it. My most recent playthrough I picked Jew, and let me be honest, it's the most fun out of the classes.
If you ever want to try another archetype, the rogue with bleed attacks and effects triggering on bleeds are also pretty insane.

I remember how excited I was for the first game to come out and I didn't get to play it until a few years later where I made it to college and just buy games for myself without my parents judgment. It was definitely fun to immerse yourself into the South Park world and make your sona while you're at it. It also does make you miss the old South Park before PC Principle arrived. Some of the things from South Park might be outdated, but still hilariously fun to play.
I would love to see a video about TFBW. I thoroughly enjoy both but definitely prefer the combat in TFBW.
I think FBW is much better as a game overall.
In terms of writing and humor I think it depends what you like more. If you're more a fan of the shock factor over the top humor then you'll like SoT more, but if you put more value in character interactions (and like having more characters from the show get more screentime,) then you'll like FBW more.
But as far as gameplay goes, Fractured But Whole's gameplay is unique with strategy elements and lots of different approaches depending on your class and party comp, something that all comes together neatly when you play on higher difficulties and the game starts asking more of you in difficult encounters.
Stick of Truth's gameplay isn't bad, but it feels like an easier Paper Mario with less combat variety and worse partner balance. It's not bad, but being braindead easy even on the highest difficulty really makes it kinda start to drag in the latter half of the game (the game in general drags a bit in the second half.) There's a reason I've replayed Fractured But Whole in full like... Four times, but barely managed to do two in Stick of Truth.

And with the profile thing I feel LEFT OUT😅 there’s no option for mixed people like me and there’s no nationality option for British🤷♀️ it made it uncomfortable having to pick something I’m not so I had to stop playing, until that point I was enjoying the game 😣

South Park has set the bar for amazing video game adaptations. SoT was an amazing game and TFBW was an amazing sequel and the DLC was also amazing too. I can't wait to see more.
Love this game!! You just reminded me of the first time I got to the snuke part and was tasked with going inside somebody. I said oh, HELL NO, turned and left the room. That triggered the bomb and the credits roll on the game. I laughed my ass off.

I recently just replayed the game and it’s the best game I’ve ever played and nothing will ever replace it.
I can appreciate the love and care that went into Stick of Truth, but it wasn't for me as I am not a fan of Turn Based Combat that SOT used. But The Fractured But Whole, that's an amazing game. One of my faves. Because it has the love and care that SOT had as well as a fun turn based mechanics with being able to get away from attacks.

My favorite thing about stick of truth is how well they recreated the feeling of childhood imagination, where fighting with sticks and building castles of cardboard are instead epic battles and great kingdoms
The two South Park RPG games are easily two of the most authentic licensed video games ever produced. The sheer care and craftsmanship that went into them cannot be understated. Both are also just really good and fun video games as well.
If Stick of Truth is perfect then Fractured But Whole is even better than perfect !
These two games are such a blast to play. I loved how well they captured the South Park vibe. It’s been a while since I’ve played either one, but this has got me in the mood to pick them back up for another playthrough. 👍
One of my favorite parts was the difficulty slider but it’s just choosing your race
honestly, in terms of the sp games, i kind of prefer fractured but whole, but i still really love revisiting stick of truth. such a solid game and such an impressive feat to make such a good game that really feels like you get to be in the show.

I always pictured how the characters would interact with me if I was in south park
and this game along with the fractured but whole really satisfy that idea and makes me so happy
this game nailed the introductions of characters and for someone who watches SP religiously it still felt fresh but at the same time they still kept it true to the character they introduced. classic Butters getting beat up then befriends you, eric I assume appointing himself the best and you have to respect his "authorita!", kyle being sick of cartman and starts his own kingdom, stan being kyles right hand man. Not just the kids either, the adults were introduced in classic sp fashion. truly a fantastic game that left out almost little to nothing
as someone who isnt a big rpg or story based gamer, this is the only game ive paid attention to the story while playing the game

I just started replaying Stick of Truth again this week! It’s so much fun, and the classic South Park humor comes through just perfectly. During the battle against Cartman, I laughed so hard at the dueling farts that I forgot what I was doing and got myself killed.
In my opinion, the only ways to improve upon the game would be to just add more content, branching paths, and maybe a hard mode since the game does get pretty easy at points. Still the exploration, gameplay, and story are all incredibly enjoyable and the game is amazing to me.
What a great breakdown, showing that the entire game on top of being an amazing South Park episode and fun RPG, is also a celebration of everything South Park is. That is also beautiful, genuinely. It's a game and a series I hold dearly!
Both The Stick of Truth and Fractured, But Whole brilliantly combined the feel of watching South Park with playing a good RPG. I am extremely hopeful for a third one!

I finished this game for the first time a few days ago. I played as a Warrior, and let me just say; the bleed mechanic is broken as hell. By the end of the game I had a ranged weapon that could hit multiple enemies multiple times, inflict bleeding on each hit, and (thanks to weapon patches) set all hit enemies on fire. I quickly learned that Bleeding and Burning both bypass defense and are great for N@zi Zombie enemies since they’re immune to Gross-Out

The Stick of Truth was the game who introduced me to South Park and I loved it. Before this game I knew the look on the main cast (Cartman, Stan, Kyle and Kenny). I can only agree this game feels like a long South Park episode.

My dad waited a while to get a PS3, but when he did he got me The Stick Of Truth and an Adventure Time game called Explore the Dungeon because I Don’t Know. While ETDBIDK was fun, The Stick Of Truth is easily one of the best games I’ve ever played, and it might be my favorite game of all time.
Plenty of fun, but not without its flaws, either. In my mind, there are 3 big ones: the grind for cash needed for completionist trophies like buying out shops, the main story feeling surprisingly short with a lack of postgame/NG+ to make up for it, and potentially overly punishing action commands (defensively).
That last point might take some elaboration, but even being well equipped i would often find myself dangerously low on health if my attention lapsed or i went into a late game state with a lot of rust. In the worst cases, me or my buddy would be one-shot by a mistimed guard, meanwhile i have enough regeneration perks that even the late game dire aids did nothing to me as i maintain high health. Sure, item rules help a bit, but they almost feel too generous when first starting out to the point it encourages a degree of stubbornness not to use them.

Seems like I’m the outlier, but I preferred the combat of TSOT in comparison with TFBW.
Actually, it’s not really the combat system, but how the combat skills are unlocked: It felt way more impactful in TSOT to find new items since anywhere could lurk the one that made an even better addition to your current setup, or gave you an idea for a different one. That lower-level weapons necessarily became under-levelled while progressing forced you to make use of what you found more recently.
In TFBW, the new classes are just handed to you by progressing the main story, and I didn’t feel a lot of strong synergies opening up when you got the chance to mix all classes by the end. The artefacts gave me the impression to mostly just increase numbers with no real “that works great together” feeling, just a “huh, guess this one’s got a higher percentage for what I’m using anyway, so I’ll take that”. I think it would’ve been cool to find the actual combat abilities in the world as well, since finding a new move seems way more impactful than said move just having higher numbers because of what you found. Otherwise, the flexibility movement- and targeting-wise was a nice improvement over TSOT.

My playthrough of TFBW is still fairly recent, so I don’t have first hand experience, but I thought the way classes are handled might also negatively affect replayability in gameplay terms, so I‘m looking forward to your review!
I’ve started TFBW 2 separate times before this and never finished actually, this will be my first full play through.
I would very much disagree.
Like for starters, Stick of Truth is so easy no matter what difficulty you play on, whereas higher difficulties on Fractured can really make you strategize or tackle something different based on your current party composition.
The claim about artifacts is very incorrect. It probably comes off that way if you just play easier difficulties, but when the game actually starts pushing the player on higher difficulties you really want to make sure to boost certain things over others based on who you build your team around. Are you focusing status damage or knockback damage? Do you have characters present who are squishy? You may want ally health. Have a mixed party or a character who doesn't do well at Ailments or Knockback (like Call Girl,) you'll probably want crit damage.
In the same vein the class system starts off a little limiting, but unlocking multiple classes gives a ton of flexibility to build exactly the way you want to fill in roles that you aren't covering with other party members or even doubling down to be extra effective at that. The DNA also offers an extra layer of flexibility to tailor your character based on what you want to aim for at that moment in combat.
Frankly while Stick of Truth's combat is servicible, I would go so far as to put Fractured But Whole's on the higher end of a lot of RPGs out there, it's very well designed all around and offers a unique spin on things to help it stand out compared to other games in the genre, while Stick's combat isn't bad, but lacks any real difficulty and generally feels like more of a baby's first RPG than even Paper Mario (the style of combat the game heavily takes inspiration from.)
