South Park has done their fair share of multi-part stories over the years, obviously dropping MANY 2 part episodes, but despite their success with 3-parters, they’ve only done a small handful of Trilogies. And while stories like Imaginationland or their massive Superhero Saga seem to get a ton of attention from the fanbase, I don’t see nearly as many people hyping up season 17’s Black Friday Trilogy. A pseudo-prequel to their hit video game Stick of Truth, the Black Friday Trilogy actually has a LOT going for it, poking fun at Game of Thrones, satirizing the consumer culture around Black Friday and wrapping it in a fun Xbox vs Playstation Console Wars package.

Can't believe you copied Ceric Artman smh...(But for real, keep kicking ass dude. Love your vids)
Jokes aside, it is pretty hypocritical
@@Mr.CS98 What?
@@Mr.CS98 Hi ceric
@Mr.CS98 he's not a 5 minute turnover AI channel. Johnny is an actual content creator, he's most likely been working on this for weeks or months.
Hi saberspark ^.^ cool to see you are aware of the drama
I used to watch this a billion times as a kid
And I kept thinking
“Where are the kids who like WiiU?”
I was young and naive
It’s just you and Scott the Woz.
Me fr, call it lame but as a kid that wii was a godsend
I think they should have done at least one gag, even if they were gonna rip on it. I was the only U owner in my friend group
Same, I’ve watched this Trilogy over a Dozen times! It’s just So much fun! I even decided to replay Stick of Truth once after finishing the Black Friday Trilogy!
@@MJTRadio I just rationalized as a kid like “oh well wiiu came out the year before”
Funny you mention how underrated the Black Friday trilogy is, because it's precisely what got me into South Park in the first place.
It got me into game of thrones
OMG SAME!!! I started watching just as S17 ended. I think I watched 'The Hobbit' the day it came out.
i was about to say, i'm apparently not online enough this got me into southpark and was a thanksgiving day tradition for awhile, literally one of my favorite pieces of anything to come from the franchise
same for me
It’s honestly my favourite arc of episodes in the entire show.
every time i hear Trey say “Brack Friday Bunduru” i lose my fucking shit
Fucking same dude
It's way funnier than it has any right to be. Parker lands it perfectly.
Kenny becoming a Japanese anime princess was the best part of this trilogy
Princess Kenny is one of the best parts, but I think the absolute best part is George RR Martin obsession.
I had a whites tree frog named Kenny, who ended up being female (I had a lot of cold blooded animals with cartoon names). After this, she was princess Kenny.
Seriously I hope they bring princess Kenny back in the future
@@phillipfry1651
Although! Imagine the return of Princess Kenny in a Fate/Stay Night skin.
@@Eliot-p2uAlso the catchphrase of "they're coming!", even with regards to pizza.
My Mom and step dad got into game of thrones because of this episode, and watching them watch this episode got me into South Park

My favourite joke that kills me from this trilogy is the old man yelling at Cartman for walking around scheming in his backyard
The fact that he actually got invested in the plot.
I remember watching these episodes and seeing commercials for the PS4 and Xbox One launches during the episode, they knew what they were doing
Weiner, Weiner Weiner...
I had that as my ring tone until my wife made me change it.
One wiener next to another wiener
Butter seems to be somewhat obsessed with weiners
Wiener wiener wiener wiener
Weiner party weiner pARtEE
3:30 Why does Cartman look like Uncle Iroh during the Princess Kenny sequences? lol
Because he’s Fat and crazy like Iroh’s OG actor iconic character Aku
I was thinking the exact same thing lmao
Omg I can't unsee that
The Black Friday Trilogy is the best special hands down. The news reporters reveal is hilarious.
I’m SO GLAD you’re taking a look at this because this is single handedly my favorite thing from southpark
Ahhh yeah it’s time for the… “Brack Friday Bunadroo!” Lmao
“I should actually make a dedicated video on it at some point”
Ceric: ‘Don’t bother’
lol
Nah, you got it wrong
Ceric: please do, so I can -copy- be inspired by it
🙃
@dftfire brilliant plan with just one oversight. How will Ceric make a video on it without better videos to copy?
@@dftfirelol ceric knew the virgins would cry if it wasn’t uploaded before theirs were 🤣
The Elmo reference is actually deeper than the allegations against the actor. It was actually the original Tickle-Me Elmo that was the centerpoint of major Black Friday media sensationalism back in the mid 90s. I remember being 10 years old watching the news at my grandparents' house and seeing grown ass adults beating the shit out of one another just to get that much coveted toy. It was then I realized that people never really grow up. My grandpa actually agreed with me as to how ludicrous it was at the time.
I’m a sneaky bee, Sharon. Buzz buzz
My favorites moments of the show are when the kids are being extradramatic on a topic or role playing like their lives depend on it, best part of the show easily.
3:00 YOU CAN’T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THESE EDITS!! XD
3:32 Cartman got that young uncle Iroh look lmao
lol he really does
Ironic, given how polar opposites the two are😂🤣💯

Worked Black Friday for Game Stop one year and as annoying as it was, I count my blessings it wasn't nearly as bad as every other store in the mall.
Glad that things are calmer and people have more options for sales, but a certain magic's been lost.

The elmo doll is also a reference to the Tickle-me Elmo, and more specifically the all-out brawls that toy inspired in stores on Black Friday in 1996.
Yep!
THIS IS NOT AN UNDERRATED TRILOGY YOU KNOW I HAD TO PLAY IT IN FRONT OF THE WHOLE FAMILY ON THANKSGIVING
My dad used to make us watch "Girls Next Door" and "Dr. 90210" as a family
So, this marks not only the 11th anniversary of the Black Friday Trilogy but also the same Black Friday this year, December 6th.
Just wanted to stop by here and say thank you for helping Bloom wake me up, I had the AI content on in the background, not even realizing how boring it was to me until I actually started watching content that had me engaged. Kudos mates.
Season 17 was my introduction to south party (I’m young) and the Black Friday trilogy still lives rent free in win my head
Man, other than Imagination Land this one is by far my favorite trilogy they’ve done. And thank you for not pushing your upload date back two weeks.
17:07 why does Eric look like Uncle Iroh 😭😭😭
Literally watch this every year. It's my new fav holiday tradition. Christmas time doesn't start until I've watched the black Friday special
Ceric artman could never make a video this good.
10:53 CRAB PEOPLE CRAB PEOPLE CRAB PEOPLE CRAB PEOPLE CRAB PEOPLE CRAB PEOPLE
WALK LIKE CRAB, TALK LIKE PEOPLE!
7:54 I love how neither of those features on both consoles ended up actually being used much if at all outside of tech demos and shit lol
You ever feel nostalgic for something you know is definitively worse for so many reasons? For me that's old school black friday. It's a lot more convenient seeing discounts that last throughout like 2-3 weeks that are also online.
But there's something about planning for the store on that day and running in when the doors open...
The scenes with the old guy in the garden were some of the funniest ever!
I love the Black Friday trilogy I watch it every year and the sad piano music at the end always reminds me of Charlie Brown
Probably because it literally is the music from A Charlie Brown Christmas
1. Congrats on the 500,000 subscribers, it's been long overdue. I've been a fan for a few years now.
2. At 18:53, that somber music is from A Charlie Brown Christmas, which was another great cartoon condemning corporate greed. While ironically being sponsored and partially funded by Coca-Cola.
I still think this is still some of the funniest episodes
A trilogy of episodes I always watch during Black Friday as is tradition
Same here, then I play The Stick Of Truth
The best part is when the kids go get their Xboxes, and of course it the Peanuts version of O Christmas Tree that plays walking through the bloodbath! 😂😂😂😂
I worked at bestbuy for years and aside from a couple key weird moments. The black Friday the year this trilogy came out is my favorite. Spent the days leading up to and after making jokes with co-workers about the brack Friday bunderu. Loved this trilogy and the game was just as good if not better.
I love the EV Games employee at the end, casually selling the boys their Xboxs while there's a dead consummer lying on the counter with a Guitar Hero controller stuck in his neck
I just wanted to say I appreciate all the hard work you and the community do .
I love this content !!!
Shout out to blooms and Lydia ❤❤❤
Definitely a fascinating way to hype up the stick of truth
The game was very epic
Black Friday: the last friday before Christmas when all the once a year drinkers at Christmas parties get in fights..... The American shopping trend arrived later.
Man, Bill Gates was the runaway breakout character of this trilogy. His MS-DOS13 tattoo was brilliant.

Happy holidays everyone! Who else is watching the Christmas episodes of their favorites shows?
That dad breaking into song over eating his son will NEVER not be funny.
19:00: That's not just sad renditions. It's the music used in A Charlie Brown Christmas. Or at least a very similar rendition thereof.
Funny thing, when both consoles released none of them had games.
ps3 has no games
PS5 has no games
True then the ps4 proceeded to blow the Xbox one out of the water in terms of sales.
@@lololordjr Has a lot more then the waste of money that was the series x literally haven't met anyone who bought it who's enjoyed their experience poorly built controller sucks and the lack of games proves the ps5 statement isn't true. Spider Man 2 which is okay is still better then every title on the series x alone. You know you've fallen hard when starfield is really all you got new in the past 4 years. And it's still boring and unoriginal.
Even more underrated: the meteor shower trilogy
Cat Orgy is a top 10 episode
🤣the old man screaming get out of my garden always fucking gets me dying laughing.
He’s gunna betray you hey shut up😂
Happy holidays J2C

My favorite joke in the final episode is Randy walking out of the mall with a TV 😂😂 he committed to living “on the wall” at the Mall, committed murder, got a wise life advice moment from the older worker; all just for one TV 😂😂it makes me laugh so hard my side hurts every time I see him calmly walking out with his tv, surrounded by the corpses of shoppers
been watching south park since around 2006 and this is still the era i think about when i think about the most fun episodes to watch as they came out. being in 9th grade and very much into the console wars myself, as well as game of thrones, just felt like such a perfect moment.
Im pretty sure the imagination land trilogy was originally intended to be another movie but they decided to split it up instead
I did a video on those too! It's a bit more complicated than that but it WAS an idea they had that they threw around for a possible movie. It didn't go much past them discussing it though
Mr 2 cellos dropped a video 20 minutes ago? Today is gonna be a good day
my heart grows three sizes bigger with every south park video you release, johnny! thank you for providing as always ❤
Really? The black friday trilogy is usually seems like the best trilogy by fans. Some of the best south park in general.
The most underrated south park trilogies in my opinion are meteorite showers, goth kids and the Leslie trilogies.
I was there for this. I LIVED it. It is my favorite South Park trilogy. I still call it the Betrayal Garden every time I walk past flowers with other people
Great video, the betrayal garden was for sure my favorite part of the trilogy, tbh love this more than imaginationland
The Brack Friday Bunduru had my entire dorm in college on the floor. To this day it still gets me every time
6:32 that’s something that stood out to me too, it’s moments like this that truly remind me that these are KIDS who are still young enough to equate their interior lives as relevant experience to take on real world challenges. I think I need to rewatch…
"He hasn't even ordered the pizzas yet!" lives rent free in my head. It'll randomly pop up in my head and I'll start laughing and get weird looks if people are around me.
7:28 I was on the Almighty Nintendo 64 side during that war
Being a 6th grader when this season came out, I was having the same arguments with my friends and talking about the new South Park episodes while they were comin out. Surreal this is underrated
Season 17 was my first season of South Park where I began turning into the new episodes as they were airing!! (I recorded the episodes the previous night on Wednesday to watch them after school lol) and around that time at age 13, I got into South Park, and I even got the Stick of Truth a couple days after it came out!! Such good times
I work as a Walmart cashier, & having worked my first retail Black Friday, it was actually pretty chill, we were busy right at opening 6am, but we've been just as busy most Mondays, I was kinda disappointed.
50 seconds is criminal, love your videos
Absolutely hit the nail on the head, once again. This trilogy is easily my favorite and even inspired some of my own writing. Keep up the great work, dude.
These episodes came out when I was at the peak of my South Park obsession, I was so excited to watch every week
Every single walk in that stupid garden just gets me every time I rewatch it, especially with that old man yelling at Cartman.
My absolute favorite moment from this trilogy is Cartman pinching his face saying "He flew down in a parachute and what?"
I used to work as a customer service agent for amazon during the Console Wars. It was a wild few months, to say the least.
Everyone talks about Imaginationland, which is a fine trilogy, but THE BLACK FRIDAY TRILOGY IS MY YEARLY JAM
This trilogy has been the peak of South Park since it aired. Never underrated. Although it did take me a while to figure out the joke going on with Butters the whole time lol
Funny that you and CA both hit this episode today lol
kinda wild
CA?
@@Johnny2Cellos i mean not really lol it is after thanksgiving
This has literally been my favorite South Park “trilogy” ever since first seeing it. My brothers ring tone is the GoT wiener song
I don’t even need to watch the full video to say this, the Black Friday trilogy is some of the best South Park in my opinion. Kenny being a Japanese princess is priceless, the Randy subplot is some of the funniest moments in the episodes, and just seeing the boys start an all out war over video game consoles is great.
The Black Friday trilogy is probably my favorite multi episode arc of South Park. I remember watching each week hyped about what would happen next
Fun Fact!
The music playing when the boys go to buy their game stations is music famously from A Charlie Brown Christmas!
"Weiner, next to anoooother weiner, weiner weiner weiner. it's what I hear everytime to this day when the song plays.
These have to be one of my favorite episodes, I actually watch them every Black Friday!
3:23 I find it absolutely hilarious that the last episode of season 17(being directly after the Black Friday trilogy) is titled “The Hobbit” and follows the story of a group of short and hideous creatures living in a fantasy world. By that I mean it tackles the Kardashians and Ye.
It’s the “little things” that make South Park such an amazing show, y’know?
This trilogy was my first ever South park experience, and boy it made me hooked
What's really funny is Matt & Trey backed the wrong horse and the Xbox One lost horribly.
I think they literally just flipped a coin and went with it lol
@cooperminion825 honestly I think they are (or at least were) bigger Xbox guys. In 6 Days to Air, one of them mentions seeing something about an ad for the new South Park season popping up on their Xbox dash.
Matt and Tray loved the Xbox 360 and was often mentioned in the series.
I think they prefered the Xbox One
Obviously the Wii U was the real winner
It also could have been intentional, with Cartman being the type of person.
Great job with this video. I haven’t seen these in a while and you got me wanting to watch them.
The funniest part was when the news anchors were having Six and then it cut to, Tom and Tammy Thompson, the best brother sister news team 😭
The Betrayal Garden was an amazing recurring bit.
i absolutely love this trilogy. i watched youtubers play the stick of truth when it came out and i was OBSESSED. i finally got to play it myself a couple years ago and it was everything i wanted and more
My favorite part among many was the further texture it added to Kenny. Second was the brewing betrayals in the garden.
Best moment was the newscaster punchline.
I rewatch this trilogy every couple of years. I’m a big fantasy fan, and I loved the Stick of Truth, so I return to these cause they’re really hilarious.
Oh my god, this is my favorite trilogy easily. Was quite a fun wait for each part when it premiered. Always thought it was meant to be a funny, elaborate ad for Stick of Truth but interesting how it derived from cut plot points from the game.
I had this in dvd when my family didn’t have cable or internet for a year so watched this like a hundred times 😂 NEVER GOT OLD THOUGH!
Every time i hear the game of thrones and now house of the dragons intro theme i can still hear the tiny Weiner adlibs from these episodes
