- In this video I go through my top 10 favourite things to do in Zadar, Croatia! We spent a total of 8 days here and was blown away at just how beautiful old town Zadar was. As I've never been to Croatia before I was really impressed with the unique architecture of the buildings and streets. Croatian food was fantastic as well and even if your not a fan there is a wide range of restaurants to enjoy here.

I have just been to Zadar and the best things I found were:
•A kayaking day trip to dugi otok (£80)
•Mountain bicycle hire (150kn per day)- cycle to Nin and then, if you are feeling adventurous, cycle past Vrsi to the beautiful Uvala Kukinica bay. There is likely to not be any people there and the views of the clear water and mountains are stunning.
•Ferry to ugljan- hike up the tallest hill thing for stunning views. You may also choose to cycle however you will have to push the bike up most of the hills.

The Garden is our favorite bar to be in at sunset. Where else can you just relax on a giant mattress after a long sunny day of doing touristy things?
I can agree with you on all points and if you were in Croatia more often, you would pick up even more points. Cape Marija (near the town of Vir), National Park Paklenica or, for example, the island of Pag and the goat cheese that is made there. We have been driving from Germany to Croatia for 5 years and we always find new sights. 👍

The oldest town in Croatia and the whole of Europe is the town Vinkovci..8000 years of continuous life. Zadar is old, but not so old. In Croatia, there are no legal private beaches. If someone charges you, access to the beach ... then it is illegal and a scam.Even though the beach is under concession, access to everyone is regulated by law.
Ah wow! Yeah you had to pay to get access to the beach on Zaton. Not unless there was a different way to get the beach that I was unaware of?
There is legal private beaches in Croatia he went to zaton holiday resort beach which is beach from resort so you need to pay for it and I'm from zadar so i know.

I love Zadar, we go there every summer for couple months , I live and work in US but have an apartment in Obrovac , about 45 min drive from Zadar … I don’t think that was a sweet corn you had, there is no sweet corn in Croatia, probably just a regular corn grilled … you put some butter and salt on it if you want …

Hi mate. Planning on visiting Zadar from Manchester in July. Won’t get there until 11:30. Is there taxis waiting outside, or are UBERS reliable? Our host seems to think not and would rather set us up with a airport transfer at 25 EUROS for a 15 min drive which is steeper than what UBER are offering
Hi Billy. Taxis are always readily available outside the airport. Uber is your cheapest option however from my experience Uber was very unreliable. Most Uber rides had 20-30min waiting lists. If your in a rush just pay for a taxi. Haggle like mad because the taxi drivers will try there upmost best to rip you off. Haggle, haggle, haggle!
On average a 10min taxi ride was costing us 60-70 kuna = £7.... so €25 for a 15min ride I would say is steep. Maybe try your luck at the airport taxi rank.
For comparison on average a 10min uber ride would cost 20-30 kuna = £3

@@TH-cam-Seany_Boyy_ Great thanks. Taxis readily available past midnight too I assume with our late arriving flight. The host has many good reviews so I don’t think he’s trying to fob me off, but does seem a little steep for what I have found. UBER looks cheap but can’t afford to hang around at that hour.

I’d imagine there are still plenty of taxis at that time however for the sake of potentially over paying by £5-£10 I’d just pay the transfer your host is offering as you will have peace of mind that when you land you don’t have to chase down a taxi.
I would 100% not rely on Uber at that time of night. Uber drivers were scarce even at peak times of the day on weekends. It would be highly unlikely you’d even get an Uber at that time.

@@priyalanka4519 it can be good. It really depends on the year but usually it is about 25 degrees Celsius. It can sometimes rain but it is really rare. In that time there will be less tourists because school year starts which will be better for you because there will not be traffic jam.
Which company did you use for the private yacht?
There are dozens of charter companies or even private people where you can easily rent any kind of motor boat or sailing boat. All you need is ££

About the when you rent the boat which is the average price
Imagine your renting a car. There's a price for a small car, midsize care, suv, luxury car. The same applies to the boats. From 200 £ a day to 10000£ a week. For the average people like me and you is around 200£-500£ depending on what are you looking for. It's cheaper if you know how to operate the boat and if you don't you have to hire the skipper as well and cost's some extra pounds. Hope i helped 👍

We in croatia are laughing how tourists are stupid,average pay check in croatia is 700 euros per month so how can one fucking tortilla be 50 kuna or 7 euros!!?😂 You are getting ripped off everywhere,everything you buy here is a ripp off!😂

I live there and from experience I can say that it is great except for the prices, the prices have started to rise and the salaries remain the same :/

One issue with this vlog. Some of the mentioned places ARE NOT in Zadar.

Am visiting Zadar ATM, mostly great. Trips to any national park are way overpriced though.

Hey mate, what a shame you didn’t bother learning how to pronounce ‘Zadar’ correctly. Stress is on 1st syllable - a short ZAD-dar, not, Za-DAAAAR.
Not the bother "Krkr" like dude there is not a single sign, name or existing word in Croatia that is pronounced or written like that. How lazy do you have to be to not even check your research...
It's really not a big deal to pronounce things how you would in your own accent, especially when complementing the area so much

@@psychonautical6587 I'm sure you'd be really thrilled if someone kept mispronouncing your name, badly. Apart from anything else it shows respect to the subject to get it right and makes you look like a professional instead of an amateur hack (who abound on TH-cam). It's not hard to to do. Just as a local while you're filming. How hard is that? I stopped watching after the 3rd 'Za-DAAAAAAR' (not counting the other mispronunciations). It really is effin' irritating and galling if you're a Croatian.
