I’m a new fan of your channel. Didn’t you just LOVE Split, Croatia? We visited last year for only 2 days 😢and truly loved the magic there. Absolutely loved the evenings listening to music in the palace square. Then took a cruise to Dubrovnik (3 days and loved the old city) stopping at the islands down there. Truly Croatia is a remarkable place and any one thinking of going should go. Stay longer than we did, the country and people are amazing! ❤
Croatia is amazed! We stayed in Split for 2 months after spent time in Romania moving around more than we like. It was the perfect place to stop and relax. Thank you for watching and welcome to the channel!

We really enjoyed Split for six weeks earlier this year. Marjan Park is wonderful. People were friendly and helpful. Going again next spring for another six weeks.
We really enjoyed Split and plan to come back in 2024 for a couple of weeks to explore more of the islands. Beautiful country!!

@@BrianandCarrie Day trips to Omis and Mosor Mountain were a couple highlights of our trip. Although the Riva can get busy, Marjan Park and other parts of Split generally weren’t. Boy, do they like their football…the Hajduk emblem is everywhere. We enjoyed Zadar and Ugljan also.

First I love your videos. Thank you so much! Keep making more of them. My husband I and live in Boise, Idaho. We traveled for 6 months this year in Thailand and Mexico. We are planning to go to the places in Europe you have visited. We want to copy your itinerary and be away for a year going to affordable places that we may choose as a forever home. We don't like the cold weather anymore and are retired in our mid 50's. We're done with the US for a lot of reasons. Our monthly travel budget is close to yours and might be slightly higher. Thank you for the nice overview of my city. I have only one correction; the square that you show and mention that it is the square where the Roman emperor (Diocletian) addressed the populus, it is not. Diocletian addressed the populus in the square that can be seen at the beginning of your video (the Peristyle) and where there is a large bell tower whose construction you described. This second square (Prokurativa) was created at the beginning of the 19th century and was built by the mayor of Split, Bajamonti. Thank you once again for the excellent video and I hope you enjoyed your stay in Split.

Love your informative videos. Wondering which months you visited Croatia? Looking for a warmer European destination for March.
We were in Split in Sept and Oct. We felt it was the perfect time to be there.
Is this recent? The weather looks great. You should visit Zadar too, another beautiful spot on the coast.
This video was shot in early Oct. 2022. We are currently home in the US for the holidays so a little bit ahead of our video release. We will be back on track and only a week or two ahead when we leave for SE Asia in January. Thank you for watching!!

In Split and Dubrovnik there are signs up all over the place for rooms or apartments for rent. Just walk down any alley and you will see them.
Split - now you are talking ! loved that place, back in 2004... just wondered if anyone has ever spent the winter on the Croatian coast, or does the winter really bite down there ??
It can get cold but still mild compared to Western Europe. We did a video from Dubrovnik last December and it was colder than we had expected it to be. 🍻
This option for a beautiful, affordable place to retire is intriguing! Lovely video! Q: what is the availability of organic produce in Split (or Croatia in general)? My wife and I are kinda veggie-head, granola crunchers from Oregon.
There are plenty of organic options. There is a farmers' market just outside of oldtown.

Can you guys recommend a destination for my 50th birthday next November? Debating between Greece, Southern Europe… open to ideas. Would like a less touristy town, great food, friendly people
November is cold but early November might be ok
We really enjoy Portugal. We haven't been to Madeira yet but have heard great things and plan to go in the winter months within the next couple of years. 🍻
What is the difference between Greece and "southern Europe"?
How did travel through the Balkan region? For example going from Romania to Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, etc? Did you fly? Did take buses or fly or train to enter these countries? I saw the private transfer from Romania to Serbia.
We took the train while in Romania flew from Belgrade to Sarajevo and took the bus the bus while in Bosnia and Croatia. Good question, thank you for watching!!

Cappadocia is very unique so that would be our preference. Split is great but there are many places with the same vibe.

We walked everywhere but the bus system is very good and affordable. We will be doing a cost-of-living video in the coming weeks. We will cover all our costs including our Airbnb.

All of Europe is hyper expensive. One big problem with Croatia is there is a lot of Ustashe
Most of Europe is less expensive than the Seattle region where we are from so it really depends on where you want to live. We spent two months in Split and didn't find Ustashe being a problem. Thanks for commenting and watching our channel.

You guys should give the name of the Split overlook or at least give directions.
It's really easy to find being It's the only hill in old town. 🤣
After all your talk, you never actually give the name of the beer spot on the ocean where you get your own beers. Did they not pay you? Frustrated beer drinker on way to Split!
There are several spots to get a beer right on the water. You won't be frustrated once you get there, the views are amazing! By the way, we have had many opportunities to do sponsored videos but simply turn them down. Your time is too valuable. 😃Thank you for watching and safe travels.
