    I trained in Taekwondo in my teens, and then karate in my late teens early 20's. Then met my beautiful wife and had a family, career, very busy life no training, in my 30's I became very unfit, to the point where I did not feel I was a good example of health for my children or myself.
    I started training again in Taekwondo (same dojang and teacher from my teens) and have been for the last 3 years, I am now 42 more healthy, fitter and stronger that I have been my whole life, my wife and children all train together 4 times a week.
    Its never too late to train, whatever your situation, last year I won gold in the Chung Do Kwan UK national full contact sparring championships.
    Love your youtube videos, the children love watching your training and listen carefully to your positive outlook on life, thankyou for sharing your time and experience with us :)

    Practicing alone is a true gift! On the other hand, Somebody needed to build those bags and that dojo, he had a teacher or several, and someone had to make his clothes and feed him as a baby before he could practice alone. The yin/yang.

    Training martial arts is developing in stages, starting with learning somethin g new and useful (like self-defence( or just new way of keeping oneself fit, followed by a period of intensive training for successes in life or society, and later on as a way of passing one´s experiences while keeping one´s body to the level appropriate to your age. An old master watching his/her students triaining in and assisted by his friends and followers is probably the ultimate and well deserved stage to culminate his or her career. Best wishes, many successes and faithful students, and a long, bl.essed life. Paul, 67, retired instructor of sports Karate.

    Omituofo Shifu, i practiced different martial arts but i never feel completely satisfied by using one stile, i mean what works works.Martial arts i feel are a vert intimate thing and i cannot force my spirit on a so called "master" who tells you to don't ask why a techinque is made in a way or another, this the most i found on japanese styles. I love to be free and direct, having a background in muay thay i love close quarters and play with a good perception of range. Now i'm very depressed because i got an illness. Diabetes type 1 and so i let the trainings go a lot....im in a bad spiral now but your video motivates me to fight. The way of the warrior in those times is the way to conquer yourself...i think but now i am very angry with life and for me no matter what i only search satisfaction. I hope i can return the man ( i am 31 ) or the boy i was. Could Tatmo enghliten me, yes i feel, if i choose. And i hope i will do it very soon.

    • @lucacanaletti1700
      @lucacanaletti1700 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      and as i said. I have a lot to conquer because my past also brought back in my minds the demons of suffering and loneliness. Now i see that you can embrace loneliness in a positive way. I knew but i needed a reminder.thank you and sorry for my enlish this is youtube and i donìt care for grammar the only important thing is the meaning...as like the thought form and the action.I also practiced a lot o meditation and hata and krya yoga. Now i feel so material...i don't know how to regain my self. Or i do.I do, i dont' want it enough for now. thanks a lot if you ever see this and u maybe have something to say i will appreciate it a lot. Om ma ni pad me hum

      we all passed hard tome brother and we did lots of mistakes more or less serious one another. what really we are looking for in this life? happyness , right? happyness is more interior than exterior. when you always think to helping poeple and animals, and always hve in the mind that any moment you can leave this life, then you will be forcing yourself to focus in doing good actions and avoid the negative, but sometimes there are situations that needs bad response or action to show for a very stupid beast (human) that you are neither weak or crasy stupid . thak you master for your time and sharing. with respect to asian philosofy and culture. tanmirt

    For martial arts, I agree. Doing is much more important than thinking. Or at least think through doing; do first, think later. But not everyone is a martial artist. Other things require more thought. Deciding to train a martial art or not, now that is a big decision. Easy to get trapped in the decision making process. I think maybe my mind was built to do something like martial arts, instead of what I am trying to do in the modern life. Yet, modern life gives me ADD. I cannot decide what to do. Because I am afraid even if I do it, I'll lose interest or get distracted by thinking something else is better. Like for example, to train a martial art usually costs money. I stopped training a martial art because the cost became ten times as much. It was low cost for a college student, but then I wasn't in college anymore. Instead now I am a dancer. It is more casual. I do not feel like I need a black belt in dancing. For dancing, I can enjoy it just in the moment. For martial arts, I compete with myself and feel frustrated if I don't get the next belt. I do enjoy training martial arts, but not as much as I enjoy dancing. So for me, dancing is more zen in that sense. But I do miss martial arts. See, here I am thinking about it. :P But seriously, I am broke right now and cannot afford martial arts. There is a free kung fu class, but it doesn't teach really the martial aspect - only the art aspect.

      Having travelled far and wide I can say pretty confidently that his philosophy applies to all things for me. Yet it only became true when I understood the context in which its meant. There is a difference between the thought required to understand technically and the thought required to act. On a a deeper level, we must find the strength to ''do'' in the moment rather than to dwell on the unnecessary. This applies to much much more than Martial arts. Martial arts is a way of life yes, yet that way 'can' bridge all things if you let it.

    seriously, training alone can be much harder than training in a class. You have to plan your workout properly, stay focus on your purpose and execute your task with discipline. What you are fighting against is your inner self that always tell you to quit, and everytime you finish your workout you know you have beaten the lazy self once again.

      i think you need one, if you have one i feel is not going well from the thing you sad, so sad...i will see what the fuck u'll do after you copulated enough to grow a pair and not to be a senseless idiot who talk the talk but i would see if you would walk the walk with this lonely warrior. I had the honor to train and be with a master like Shi de Cheng (by the way he is very more funny than a lot of monks, maybe because he travel a lot but i love it. You have to feel the aura of a person (if you can) and you'll do accordingly even if it seems unrespectful...this happened to me with Shifu and it was warm and so human and humble. Tryng to teach us italians talking in french, chinese (!) and some italian. Great experience. I suggest u to go say this in the face of a master and nothing but a laugh or indifference will wait u.i hope for you
