No lie I’ve watched this trailer more times than I’ve watched the actual movie. And I really, really enjoyed the movie. But, damn. The editing and the music and the way the make it unclear if Sandler’s “Howard” is someone you could like, or if he’s kind of a scumbag.

it's actually crazy rewatching the trailer after the movie, the edit is so elegant, you see everything important that happens and yet nothing gives away the ending. Even though there's multiple shots from the ending! And it has the same anxious, frenetic energy driving it along the whole time, it tells you exactly what you're in for
one of the best trailers for a film ever. Pretty niche thing to celebrate, but it's just so impressive.

It was after they became successful that they started with their multi-million dollar projects. A24 has already started showing signs of the same, Hereditary was made on a budget of USD 10 million.

Watched this at the TIFF Bell Lightbox in Toronto when it came out and the whole crowd was engaged and active, laughing and shocked at the necessary parts. This movie was a ride and it was so great to witness a crowd enjoying the film! Sandler was robbed of an Oscar nomination. This was so out of his box and he delivered an Ace performance! Great film!

I don't know why people are surprised when comedic actors are nailing serious roles. I think comedy is actually harder than drama when it comes to acting.
Neither are harder, they are different skill sets. Its like said an actor is a harder job than a visual effects artist. Apples and oranges. Some people know comedic timing, some know how to portray raw emotion.
The thing is no one thought Adam Sandler could do either.

It seems like it's harder for serious actors to play funny roles because they're too good looking (good looks and comedy seem to be at odds; name one sex-symbol comedian) or they simply don't have the personality to make people laugh.

It's always been said that comedy is based on some form of misery. So, a comedian's transition to drama isn't a hard thing to imagine, since the best comedians can take the tragedy and spin it into something hilarious. What's to say that the opposite can't work? One of Sandler's other great performances was in Reign Over Me, which for example, dealt very seriously with the aftermath of 9/11.
I’m really happy that Adam Sandler is breaking boundaries. Showing that he’s much more than comedy movies.

Fraser Gibson nobody talks about his performance in that enough. Also funny people and the meyerowitz stories he is pretty amazing in as well. He’s extremely versatile for how bad his own movies have been the last 10ish years. Can’t wait to see him get the recognition he deserves as a good performer.
Criminally underrated. Sandler gave a performance of a lifetime. Indeed, the whole cast was outstanding. Writing is spookingly authentic, extremely artful how Garnett's real life performance is woven in, awesome cinematography, and a film guaranteed to put you on edge.

A24 = original stories. Not remakes, sequels or recycled stories. They are bold. Even on their worst day I much rather watch one of their authentic new stories fail than to rehear/watch an altered recycled original. They are a fresh breath of air to cinema.

Safdie Brothers will do to Adam Sandler what they did to Robert Pattinson. Reinvigorate their acting careers
Pattinson was already making a name for himself, but Good Time did really get him out there. I think this is a bit different because Adam Sandler occasionally does actual movies, but I do hope this movie gets his name out as a serious actor and he starts being in more good movies.

Duckalie the thing is, Pattinson, while not as recognized for his skills as he should be, isn’t really underrated or shat on because whoever does rate him recognizes his talent. Sandler is UNIFORMLY shat on by critics, and he’s ALWAYS had this talent, as we saw in Punch Drunk Love & others... he deserves the Oscar for this but of course he won’t get it simply because he’s....
