I remember when you first made that video, I just found your channel from your mini docs and was hooked. Crazy to think I’ve been watching airtime thrills on and off for about five years!
Same for me. Also I swear he made a video around the same time about top 5 manufacturers to go bankrupt in the next decade, or something similar to that. I haven't been able to find that video though so maybe it wasn't him
I think it's going to be a tough decade for coaster fans. I fear the merger and possible steel tariffs are going to cause more coasters to be removed than built.
The last time they put steel tariffs on a factory in Northern Indiana went out of business and everyone lost their jobs. It’s just like trickle down economics; it doesn’t work, and the average people end up getting screwed.
@@marcustulliuscicero5443 That is true they never left. They might get raised a significant amount though, making it so expensive that Cedar Fair/Six Flags may slow their coaster growth and add more family style attractions and flat rides. BTW nothing wrong with those rides but as Coaster Enthusiast we want the high octane thrill rides, coasters specifically.
I’m a team member in the same area as Superman EFK, so what I heard in July is that maintenance is trying to use every last bit of parts left to run both sides one last time before it finally closes in 2025. Idk if that’s still the case with the merger but that’s what I’ve heard
I feel Xcelerator will only last as long as the parts from TTD and now Ka hold up on it. Not as sure about Firebird since a) it got a floorless refurb 5 years ago and b) it's SFA.
@@TheSonicsean True, the parts for Top Thrill Dragster & Kingda Ka will only last very long, but they just reopened from fixing the launch, but we'll see
My top 20 coasters that could be gone in 5 years: 20. Viper (MM) 19. Steel Curtain (depends on if the refurb is a success, if not ignore) 18. Desperado 17. Bandit (Movie Park Germany) 16. Gouderix 15. Steamin Demon (Great Escape) 14. Coast Rider OR; 13. Xcelerator (could have 10 more years, not sure) 12. Nighthawk 11. Vortex (Carrowinds) 10. Time Warp 9. TT2 (if it fails to deliver/becomes problematic when it reopens) 8. Dragon Mountain (Marineland) 7. Coaster Express 6. Hollywood Rip Ride Rock-it 5. Diamondback (Frontier City) 4. Sidewinder (Elitch Gardens) 3. Formula Rossa 2. Superman: Escape From Krypton (seems like it really is in danger) And for my most controversial pick probably for 1: **Falcon's Flight** I'm not sure this will even OPEN. And if it does, give it maybe a year max before it shuts down for a very long time.
As a local who knows a lot about Valleyfair: They're not removing Excalibur any time soon, at least they say. There's solid evidence why they wouldn't though. It sits on a flood zone, and if it was removed, the city wouldn't let them build anything new on that plot of land unless something substantial and expensive was done to irrigate the area to make it less prone to a flood. Steel Venom and Corkscrew honestly probably have less time at the park than Excalibur.
5 years went pretty fast overall most of the predictions were wrong but probably still more accurate than I can do also i hope you hit 100k soon you deserve it
It’s always fun to go back and check your work. If I had a list of coasters I *wish* would be gone, Roar at SFA would definitely be on it. That thing is a guaranteed headache for me.
I have been to Six Flags Magic Mountain 1 time and that 1 time Superman escape from krypton was closed :( , I might go back soon and hopefully I get a least 1 ride
Crazy seeing this video whilst remembering myself watching it 5 years ago (p.s. please post a video like this every 2.5 years it’s entertaining when that happens)
I got to ride Excalibur this year and 100% it was one of the few rides there I didn’t have to ride defensively. It just needs more back there to draw guests.
Apparently the home of the *other* Excalibur, Funtown Splashtown USA in Maine, was in serious danger of not reopening in the aftermath of the COVID pandemic, but it survived and actually thrived and they've been taking good care of the coaster.
Zamperla needs to go back to the drawing board for those TT2 trains. the riders sit so high that the heartline is messed up which is putting too much strain on the wheels. if they don't get this ride sorted out I feel Cedar Point will quietly demolish it one of these off seasons and act like it never existed in the first place
Prediction: a lot of the coasters that do go away in the next five years will be the result of whole parks closing, particularly underperforming Six Flags/Cedar Fair parks and some small independent parks.
I was looking at some of the comments, and I came up with a new idea for a video: "Donate a Coaster". This is where we take the largest parks in the greater Six Flags chain (including both legacy Six Flags and Cedar Fair), and an equal number of lesser parks that tend to be overlooked by their respective sub-chains. Each of the big parks must give up one of their coasters, and once that's all done, the "donated" coasters are distributed across the lesser parks, with each such park getting one. Parks that don't play are mid-tier parks, as well as smaller parks that already have 100% development. It'd be an interesting exercise to see which coaster would make the most sense for each park to give up, and where those coasters should go. For the "big" parks, I'm thinking: Cedar Point, Kings Island, Carowinds, Canada's Wonderland, SF Magic Mountain, SF Fiesta Texas, SF Great America, SF Great Adventure. For the "small" parks, I'm thinking the four "have-nots" of legacy Cedar Fair (Valleyfair, Dorney Park, Worlds of Fun, Michigan's Adventure) and four of the lesser legacy Six Flags parks that have room to expand (SF America would be in the mix; the other three may be a bit tricky--St. Louis, Darien Lake, Great Escape perhaps? I think Frontier City and La Ronde may be too developed to play, but I could be wrong about one or both).
Ehh, I'll give you half credit for Desperado. I get that SBNO does mean it could still open, but it's gone five years without a single rider and Buffalo Bill's has given little to no communication on the ride's future. At that point I'm not really willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.
I gotta say .I like Rollercoasters but I'm not an enthusiast by any means I'm just from Ohio. I've been following you El Toro TPC and Taylor for years now. Those guys are all awesome. But for years you've put out alot of weekly content and I watch everything..I really don't know why? as I said it's not like I'm hardcore.. But you're content ,production, takes and info are all excellent.. Love your docs and vlogs but man week after week I enjoy all of your content and actually care about your coaster rankings. I'm probably insane or senile. But thanks for all the years of excellent regular content.
incredibly thankful that viper, ninja, anaconda, invertigo, dragon fyre, gemini, american eagle, and excalibur survived i would like a roar rmc and that's the only rmc i'd ever want
The only change I would see at the Madrid parks is if Parques Reunidos, who operates the Madrid Parks and Real Madrid World in Dubai, moves the planned Six Flags Dubai hyper to Parque Warner and has the station at Stunt Fall and then it runs out to the abandoned "Parque Warner" branch of the commuter rail and then comes back. I don't think we have a good layout diagram of the planned hyper so I don't know how it would be situated but Parque Warner has the space and I think importance in the chain. The Power Splash would probably make more sense as the German parks (Movie Park and Belantis in Liepzig) or Bobejaanland as a replacement to Dreamcatcher or dry slides and a ferris wheel-they could probably squeeze it next to the Wild Mouse since once side is not at Parque de Atracciones. Speaking of that park, I think they would add something before taking something out
I think Motocoaster at Six Flags Darien Lake could be in danger of closing, It's in a odd area of the park and it's harder to get to now with the path to Darien Square being partially accessible, it also was hardly ever open this season I don't know if it's due to mechanical reasons (remember, it's a prototype) or staffing issues.
I think you should give yourself credit for desperado. I don't think it's ever opening again, even if it isn't torn down for a long time. If you give yourself credit for that you're 20 percent, which isn't bad for something as difficult as predicting coaster removals.
Coasters that I predict will be gone within 10-20 years (and their replacement): Viper at Six Flags Magic Mountain: This Arrow mega-looper has been in operation for almost 35 years now, and it seems as though Six Flags may wanna keep it around much longer than we thought. However, I believe that by 2026, it may be time for it to tear it down, maybe replace it with a MACK Rides Giga. Kumba at Busch Gardens Tampa: A B&M multi-looper which has been in operation since 1993, and doesn't appear to see any signs of closing down yet... Keyword is "yet", because it will close eventually. I believe that the ride's final year of operation will be 2028, 35 years after it had first opened. Perhaps parts of the track can be reused to build a B&M Giga, reaching a top height of 350 feet and a speed of about 100 mph, stealing the title from Fury 325 as the tallest coaster to use a chain lift. Flight Deck and Time Warp at Canada's Wonderland: 2 unpopular rides at a top-premier Cedar Fair park, and they're still alive and kicking, which is just unbelievable. I'm hoping that next year will be their last year of operation, but even that would just be threatening the average coaster enthusiast with a good time. I believe their last rides will come around 2026 once AlpenFury has siphoned away whatever attendance those mechanical torture devices will have had left by then, leaving open a nice chunk of land to build a worthy replacement. Hopefully a launched B&M Invert or Wing. Viper at Six Flags Darien Lake: This is another classic Arrow looper that we might not see get ripped apart any time soon, but mark my words, that time will eventually come. Just not this decade though. Next decade, when it has gone over 50 years of operation, it will be time for it to give its final rides. I expect that to be around 2033, which will be 8 years from now. Its replacement will likely be a completely brand new coaster type, perhaps even from a future ride manufacturer that nobody knows about. Formula Rossa at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi: The last remaining relic of the coaster wars will likely be the current world's fastest coaster. It may be a landmark coaster, but with Top Thrill Dragster having been re-done, and Kingda Ka having ceased operations entirely, Formula Rossa is clearly not invincible to time. My prediction is that it will be gone sometime between 2027-2031. I honestly have no clue as to what will replace it, but whatever it may be, let us hope it can be just as iconic as the ride before it. Falcon's Flight at Six Flags Qiddiya: This ride is so massive, it will undoubtedly be a maintenance nightmare, and a very huge one unlike the other problematic coasters that came before it. Furthermore, it is being built as part of a government-funded project that nobody really asked for in a country that is a prime example of why theocracy is a horrible form of government. As impressive as it is, nobody is gonna fly to a country like Saudi Arabia, a country that is notorious for multiple human rights violations, just to ride the tallest, fastest, and longest roller coaster. I really don't believe it will last within 10 years, let alone 20. I think I'll give it 5 years, but still, I don't expect it to be as successful as any of the record-breakers that came before it. Not even the park itself. All the other rides at the park will probably find new homes in other parts of the world, and hopefully in countries that are not ruled under an authoritarian regime. (more to come soon)
I remember the Roar RMC prediction and I was hoping it would’ve come sooner rather than later. Well… since then I’ve lost hope. I’d be surprised to see any new or relocated coaster come to this park.
Out of every ride you listed that may close or has already closed, Dragon at Marineland is the one I want to experience the most. Really hoping she reopens in 2025 or 2026!!
Lakeside amusement park’s Cyclone looked real bad when I was at the park early this year. Don’t see them getting it fixed at this point. I’d predict it never reopens. The park is falling apart and I don’t see them getting the budget out of nowhere to repair it.
It’s a shame cause it’s such a quaint little park! I’d love something like that in my hometown! But everything is deteriorating from roofs to walls to paths and the rides are all aging badly.
I got introduced to you through your Geauga Lake mini docs, and I’ve been along for the ride ever since. We’ve even commented a few times, including you dropping a Buy or Sell on the same day I was at Kings Island, so kudos are more than warranted and earned. Since we’re talking coasters that could be gone in the next 5-10 years, I want to put my 2 cents in and call out The Bat at Kings Island. Let me be clear: I love this ride, as its original incarnation as Top Gun and I took my last ride on it back in 2023 with friends. One of them getting a cut from, of all things, the safety sign. I know it’s the final Arrow suspended coaster, and that it’s still kinda popular, but we all know these Arrows have service life’s and without Arrow these days, they need a outside manufacturer like Premier Rides or Vekoma to overhaul them. But these suspended coasters are kinda in their own niche and I couldn’t see Premier or Vekoma taking it on to overhaul or retrack it. Considering that Vortex reached the end of its service life after 33 years, I think the Bat might make it to 2025, but 2026 would be 33 years and it might be on borrowed time til then. Plus, if a Son of Beast reboot (hopefully RMC but who knows) is ever on the table, taking out the Bat makes for much more room to spread out the ride if they ever end up reusing outpost 5 and resurrecting it in some way. Again, I love the Bat, but I think it’s time is likely sooner than later.
I am glad Cedar Pt still has Gemini. It is my oldest son's favorite coaster to ride. I hope you are wrong about TT2 but I fear you are right. I doubt I will ever get to ride it.
There's a new rumor going around that Scream at SFMM might be in danger. It has low ridership and has had issues with its lift motor and structure, that the park doesn't want to invest in. Zimmermann also allegedly wants a second entrance for SFMM to help with traffic flow, and Scream is blocking the way.
Scream is a ride that wasn’t even really planned to go to Magic Mountain in the first place. It’s a lot like Siren’s Curse. It was installed in 2003 as the parks way of apologizing to its guests for all the problems with X. I really think it was originally bought for a different park and sent to Magic Mountain. It was announced really late into the 2002 season and it’s location being so minimally themed and literally grabbed right out of a parking lot matches well.
I think you were right about Desperado. Primm is dying. The main resort is closed. To stay at Whiskey Petes you have to check in at Buffalo Bills, and Whiskey feels like it's abandoned besides. Buffalo Bill's is in the best shape, yes, but it's still not great. If any more music acts start dropping it, the entire Primm resort could, and should, go under. They're not making any real money now, and I'd put dimes to doughnuts that Desperado never reopens.
Road Kumba couple weeks ago. It over-delivered the most of any coaster in Florida. It's was very smooth, amazing ride. My favorite of all the B&Ms that aren't hypers, gigas, flying or great inverts/dives.
Been waiting for this one! To be fair, there's no way we saw covid, much less the merger, coming five years ago, I'm sure I wouldn't have fared any better on a prediction list like this.
@@AirtimeThrillswouldn't be surprised to see a lot of your original predictions come true in the next few years. If ka/lantern is any indication the new six flags will be ruthless
Skull Mountain at Six Flags Great Adventure the outdoor facade has been falling apart and the park has another indoor coaster in the form of dark knight which has theming compared to Skull Mountain which is just a ride in a box
Agreed, as a Hershey local Im thinking wild mouse and Tidal Force go, Tidal Force has had a TON of downtime in recent years, and that amount of land is used for a huge water park expansion, both needed and long overdue. I believe the Boardwalk has been shut out since Breakers edge and Whitecap. By Hershey standards, that's a long drought
I reckon Superman Escape at my home-park Warner Bros. Movie World will probably be seeing the end of its life cycle in the next five years. I also wouldn't be surprised if Gold Coaster, Motocoaster or Kenny's Forest Flyer at Dreamworld are removed or face upgrades by then.
Kennywood has officially confirmed Steel Curtain is reopening with the park in 2025. They announced today they are gonna do a passholder preview event for its reopening.

Kennywood was also way more transparent when they announced it wouldn't open for 2024. unlike other parks that weren't as honest about the condition of their crown jewel coasters at opening weekend@@AirtimeThrills
I hope invertago KI gets removed soon. Corkscrew CP comes to mind too. A wing coaster over the gate at KI would be awesome! They could do like Kings Dominion and install a launched wing!
You really shouldn’t hope for the demise of a one of a kind in America’s ride that is still popular and is actually very fun. I vertigo is a gem and should be preserved. Corkscrew can go tho
@coastercube838 you may have a point. I don't think it is that popular. It just has low capacity. I did not like riding it at all. But to each his own I guess. I liked flying cobras at Carowinds.
As someone who has had Elitch Gardens as my home park my entire life: I hope every coaster there makes the next video in 5 years. Sidewinder being the only one would be a disappointment. I don't even care if they open a new park, the front range has too much competition for the GPs entertainment dollar, just let the poor sad place die already.
Kennywood is my home park and I really really hope between them and S&S, they can get Steel Curtain back open… They’ve already got footers going in to do reinforcement structure. It is such a fun ride, especially for a small park like KW.
I grew up with Excalibur. It’s been one of my favorites since I was a kid. Every time I’ve ridden it since 2014 or so, I’ve been mentally preparing myself for it to be the last ride I ever get on it. But 10 years later it’s still kicking!!! Even though I now live halfway across the world, I’ll fly straight to Minnesota if they announce its removal to get my last rides
Blue Hawk and Ridder are likely in the chopping block. They may be safe now, but could potentially be gone with in the next 5 or 6 years, as SF stated that they do not care if any coaster if has a dedicated loyalty among fans and enthusiasts and the records it holds when removing it, which particularly radical for them to state that.
As a huge Arrow fan, I am SO relieved that many of your picks here were incorrect. On the other hand we have lost a massive, diverse list of coasters around the world (many that I wasn't worried about at all). Service life is just BS-corporate excuse making. It is possible ,and can be even profitable, to preserve older roller coasters. An old roller coaster that has been enjoyed by generations of park visitors means something to both the GP and the enthusiast crowd. I think a good example of this is my former home park, Great America. There were a lot of god-awful closure decisions recently and I was certain Demon was done for. It blows my mind that they went out of their way to put a Dive Coaster right next to it. They could have easily stretched the layout as an excuse to trash Demon but it even appeared in the CG advertisements for Wrath of Rakshasa. Great America showed how you can respect your park's legacy while still progressing toward the future. On the other hand, we have Great Adventure. They decided: Hey, it's the 50th anniversary of one of the greatest amusement parks in the world! How should we celebrate this incredible milestone? Why, lets tear the park to pieces and give vague platitudes about some...stuff happening in the future. Happy 50th, Great Adventure.
@@hurricanegproductions5525 Yeah that was a bewildering choice. As far as flat rides in the park, by far my favorite was "Trailblazer." It was a Zamperla ride that gave fantastic airtime and amazing views of Southwest Territory. It only lasted for ten years though (1996-2006). Maybe there was a good reason to close it, but I've never been able to figure out what the specific reason was.
with skyliner, apparently maintenance was being done on the ride, but this was months ago, so i am not sure, i am keeping my hopes up because i think it is a good ride, depending on what seat you ride in, and i hope to see it open again for 2025
Anyone who had Kingda Ka on their list of coasters closing for good 5 years ago is a legit time traveller because nobody would believe that. Hell, people still don’t believe it’s already gone
As a Valleyfair local, I can attest to the fact that there’s no way the park’s going to remove anything before they add a new coaster. The park manager even confirmed this. Vekoma STC for 2026?
Thunderation at Silver Dollar City. I’ve been hearing rumors(nothing definitive) from fellow employees. It was shut down during the summer because a tree fell on the tracks and SDC proceeded to cut down all trees inside the perimeter. It desperately needs a retracking as it is uncomfortable in most seats. Also the ride shuts down anytime it rains. I think SDC would like something that operates in all conditions
When I went to buffalo bill's in 2016 their S&S tower had been SBNO for years, and I think it wasn't torn down for a few more years, so the park has a history of closing rides forever and not tearing them down for 5-10 years or more, which I think is what is happening and will happen with desperado, so that makes you correct on your 2019 desperado prediction and bumps you up to 20 percent correct 5 years ago, not bad.
@@AirtimeThrills Honestly I wouldn't mind it going bye bye given how rough it was for my 1 ride in 2016. I was really looking forward to it given I love hyper coasters. Then a guy in front of me gets off the ride and says it is really rough and I'm thinking uh oh. Probably the roughest hyper I've been on. Even rougher than magnum and it's painful airtime extra thick anti B&M clam shell thigh bars. 😁🤣
Coasters that could be gone within the next 5 years, I predict that Gadget's Go Coaster at Tokyo Disneyland will be replaced by something better. Also on the chopping block, Canyon Blaster at Six Flags Great Escape. That is outdated and awful, and there are a lot better family coasters they could get...
The rumor of Invertigo’s demise is greatly exaggerated. 😊 Every year people think it’s going to be gone, but it keeps staying. It’s kind of amazing it’s still there. It’s one of a kind in the country, you would think parts are hard to come by. But, it has been pretty reliable all these years. It doesn’t fit in with the people eater coasters that KI has. It does give a thrill to riders who fit it in their visit. I think they will move it to another park in the chain or sell it. I think it still has life in it.
If they remove it plus the shoot the chutes ride and the outdoor theater they would have a HUGE plot of land to do some great things or put in a huge amazing coaster.
@ Cool, thank you for doing my suggestion. I think you will have a great video on the subject. I admire your research on the history of the parks and its coasters. I think it’s something you can tackle and people will respect your opinion. (Or, at least fill the comments with their opinion). 😄
@ I agree. I would like them to have a coaster interact with an indoor theater to replace Timberwolf theater. Along with interacting with the new entrance. With an indoor theater, it can be a year round facility. With a restaurant and small convention center. It would be a big undertaking, but it would pay for itself quickly.
@@pipepicasso8112Absolutely, especially given the cold cloudy winters in Cincinnati. Unfortunately they're ripping out Coney Island to put in another music venue but I think that 1 is outdoor not indoor like your idea for KI.
Flash should be opening next year, but I wouldn’t be surprised if next year, come end of 2025, flash is removed. Would suck, especially because it’s unique, but makes sense
I would cry if they remove Viper from Magic Mountain, it’s one of my top bucket list coasters due to my home park formerly having Shockwave and I’ve always wanted to see what it was like. Hopefully it can make it to 2028 since I may be in LA then. Also, I believe Do-Dodonpa was missing from the rundown. It really is crazy how fast five years goes, I remember watching this pretty close to when it came out and probably one of the first videos on the channel I watched next to the miniseries about what each park needs the most (which was basically my religion in my first year of college) and the one about coasters that could be relocated.
Honestly in my opinion i think one of the coasters that its likely to go within these next 5 years is Rougarou idk i just think bc Green Lantern got the ax and how its in prime reilstate and, is its just telling me also similar to Wicked Twister i think its unpopular and just tucked back there in the park. I personally wouldn’t mind if that coaster goes or is at least relocated bc a smaller park could use it tbh. Not necessarily removed but i can also see Disneylands space mountain get the Tokyo Disneyland treatment especially if Tomorrowland is given a renovation bc i think its really needs it. Actually i got one hopefully the Matterhorn stays however i wonder if its possible bc of how old it is. Like Kingda ka maybe it will be the sleeper removal. It is such a classic though, i love the Matterhorn, personally it’s my childhood coaster.
A lot of these wrong guesses feel like the result of the whole North American amusement park industry kind of being in limbo, at least the midrange of it that contains most of these coasters. Who knows how long that's going to continue. Most of these coasters you thought would be ripped out are still under threat--they're just not gone. The exceptions are the woodies that got renovated instead (a route that got more viable options than it used to have), and even that could be seen as a cost-cutting measure.
Question, had it not been announced a couple months earlier that it was closing, what danger score would you have given Vortex at KI in your initial video?
4:14: “removing two coasters is kind of a big ask”
great adventure wants to know your location
Great Adventure is quite bold
you know it. let’s just hope flash and the 2026 coaster are great

2. Superman: Escape From Krypton (seems like it really is in danger)
And for my most controversial pick probably for 1:
**Falcon's Flight**
I'm not sure this will even OPEN. And if it does, give it maybe a year max before it shuts down for a very long time.
As a local who knows a lot about Valleyfair:
They're not removing Excalibur any time soon, at least they say.
Seems like it’s in an American Eagle situation then… that can’t be replaced either since it goes over a road
One to never rule out is The Boss at Six Flags St Louis. There's always going to be the rumors of an RMC conversion.
This was a really thorough and excellent video!
5 years seems quick for many of us, but Sophie was such a little kid when I started watching this channel!
Yeah those 2019 vlogs were something else
@ has she watched any of the early vlogs recently? I hope she can laugh at how you used to make fun of her!! 😏
Wow, didn't realize it's been that long. Definitely remember both these videos dropping, man I feel old
5 years went pretty fast overall most of the predictions were wrong but probably still more accurate than I can do also i hope you hit 100k soon you deserve it
Always great coaster content! Thank you!
It’s always fun to go back and check your work. If I had a list of coasters I *wish* would be gone, Roar at SFA would definitely be on it. That thing is a guaranteed headache for me.
The question is: Would you feel better or worse if your predictions turned out to be correct?
IT’S YOUR 2019 STYLE MUSIC!!!! I know people say this a lot but my goodness, that was a much better time of my life.
Oh my god time flies 😂 keep it real ATT. Thanks for sticking with us the whole time! Phenomenal videos.
Thanks for sticking with ME
Dragon fyre is probably gonna be gone at the end of the season, it has the same marking ka had right now
I have been to Six Flags Magic Mountain 1 time and that 1 time Superman escape from krypton was closed :( , I might go back soon and hopefully I get a least 1 ride
Can’t we all just appreciate how good this TH-camr is
Can't we though
Love ur channel so much bro
The strata coaster is about to go the way of the Tasmanian Tiger.
I love the build up at the start
Crazy seeing this video whilst remembering myself watching it 5 years ago (p.s. please post a video like this every 2.5 years it’s entertaining when that happens)
Thanks a lot man. Looks like I'll be praying for the next month about the removal of my home parks coasters and that Kid Flash goes away.
Yes!!! Local fan of valleyfair, and they absolutely NEEDED to keep excalibur. Good call by VF
3/20. Only batting .150 I think the coach wants to see you in his office...lol😂
But I'm a positive presence in the clubhouse, coach
Have i really been watching you for 5 years??? Cause i swear i remember when the original video was released...damn time really does fly!!
Scary to think that it has been 5 years already 🎉
I wish everyone was as insane or senile as you. Thanks!
@@AirtimeThrillsLuckily I am, keep up the great content
incredibly thankful that viper, ninja, anaconda, invertigo, dragon fyre, gemini, american eagle, and excalibur survived
i would like a roar rmc and that's the only rmc i'd ever want
Speaking of that park, I think they would add something before taking something out
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR 5 WHOLE YEARS LOL. (This could be a series where you only upload once in 2.5 years)
I think Motocoaster at Six Flags Darien Lake could be in danger of closing, It's in a odd area of the park and it's harder to get to now with the path to Darien Square being partially accessible, it also was hardly ever open this season I don't know if it's due to mechanical reasons (remember, it's a prototype) or staffing issues.
i was a senior in highschool and didn't know about your channel yet. 5 years later I'm in college and watch your videos on repeat
13:15 my first coaster 😢💔 RIP Canobie Corkscrew
I think you should give yourself credit for desperado. I don't think it's ever opening again, even if it isn't torn down for a long time. If you give yourself credit for that you're 20 percent, which isn't bad for something as difficult as predicting coaster removals.
Airtime thrills silence on the new park announced in Brazil is deafening
I think The Flash at SFDK is definitely on its way out. It's my home park and it looks like it's done for. It's been down since Feb 2024.
Coasters that I predict will be gone within 10-20 years (and their replacement):
Viper at Six Flags Magic Mountain: This Arrow mega-looper has been in operation for almost 35 years now, and it seems as though Six Flags may wanna keep it around much longer than we thought.
Anaconda is primed to be replaced by a mack water coaster. Vortex is primed for floorless trains
Lakeside amusement park’s Cyclone looked real bad when I was at the park early this year. Don’t see them getting it fixed at this point. I’d predict it never reopens. The park is falling apart and I don’t see them getting the budget out of nowhere to repair it.
That place was falling apart 30 years ago. I'm surprised it lasted this long.
It’s a shame cause it’s such a quaint little park! I’d love something like that in my hometown! But everything is deteriorating from roofs to walls to paths and the rides are all aging badly.
I wish I had had the cash on me to ride it when I went by the park in 2015 while visiting Denver to go to Water World.
Sidewinder is the best ride at elitchs 😢
I am glad Cedar Pt still has Gemini. It is my oldest son's favorite coaster to ride.
I hope you are wrong about TT2 but I fear you are right. I doubt I will ever get to ride it.
There's a new rumor going around that Scream at SFMM might be in danger. It has low ridership and has had issues with its lift motor and structure, that the park doesn't want to invest in. Zimmermann also allegedly wants a second entrance for SFMM to help with traffic flow, and Scream is blocking the way.
Scream would be a smash hit at half the parks in the chain
I don't think magic mountain wants to hurt it's most coasters in the world status, it will probably stay up
@@AirtimeThrills they should send it to discovery kingdom and put it next to Medusa 💀💀💀💀
@@Bnkl-f2hlmao 😂😂
I think you were right about Desperado. Primm is dying. The main resort is closed. To stay at Whiskey Petes you have to check in at Buffalo Bills, and Whiskey feels like it's abandoned besides. Buffalo Bill's is in the best shape, yes, but it's still not great. If any more music acts start dropping it, the entire Primm resort could, and should, go under. They're not making any real money now, and I'd put dimes to doughnuts that Desperado never reopens.
Dragon Fyre will live on forever
Road Kumba couple weeks ago. It over-delivered the most of any coaster in Florida. It's was very smooth, amazing ride. My favorite of all the B&Ms that aren't hypers, gigas, flying or great inverts/dives.
Been waiting for this one! To be fair, there's no way we saw covid, much less the merger, coming five years ago, I'm sure I wouldn't have fared any better on a prediction list like this.
Merger seems to be making the axe more likely, where covid really put the freeze on a lot of their plans to add/remove
You should make another 20 coasters prediction video instead of 8!! Keep the tradition going haha
Well some of the coasters I would pick are still part of the original 30 so let those ride
Man I remember watching this when it came out, it’s crazy how fast five years flies by
I think wild mouse at Hershey park will be gone in the next five years
Same
Currently the one truly jerky coaster there today.
Especially since they have a much better similar ride indoors in Laff Trak!
Completely agree! I've also heard Tidal Force will leave with it to make room for a waterpark expansion
Lets see if it can stay open
@@AirtimeThrills i think it will. They are adding new support columns. Its gonna look different next year. How different im not sure cause I have not seen the cad renderings for it. But they added 4 new footers,
@@AirtimeThrills the park has advertised its reopening more in the last 3 weeks than they did Spinvasion the all new for 2023 flat ride.
Kennywood has been posting regular updates on the repairs to the Still Curtain. I get the vibe they very much care about getting it up and running reliably. Kennywood was also way more transparent when they announced it wouldn't open for 2024. unlike other parks that weren't as honest about the condition of their crown jewel coasters at opening weekend@@AirtimeThrills
Great Adventure also had a social media post saying to renew season passes for 2025 so you could ride Kingda Ka all season. So
I hope invertago KI gets removed soon.
@@knatt5300 Maybe a compromise? Invertigo maybe isn't scrapped but is instead sent to a different park. There are a number of candidates for that.
The final part of the saga.
Kennywood is my home park and I really really hope between them and S&S, they can get Steel Curtain back open… They’ve already got footers going in to do reinforcement structure. It is such a fun ride, especially for a small park like KW.
See you again in June of 2027 :D
I’ve been waiting on this for about four of those five years now
Waiting for 5 years, and its here!
Great America always seems like itd had good leadership
Closing the orbit was really dumb, so they could relocate east river crawler to make way for a ride that didn’t even last five years…
@@hurricanegproductions5525 Yeah that was a bewildering choice.
I had it on my video from July, just never believed it would be anytime soon
@ it’s still so surreal. Glad I was able to go in October and get 3 rides in
#13 removing 2 coasters kinda a big ask
Six Flags/ Cedar Fair: Great Adventure, hold my beer!
Chris: "American Eagle is a good ride".
💥 Boom 💥
There goes my lie detector
Ah come on ive been enjoying it
@AirtimeThrills
It beats Skyrush as my least favorite Intamin. The most impressive thing about it is the queue length
Sadly probably right, but we have heard that they wanna reopen it. Could have changed their minds but at lrast theyre indicating it has a shot
2024 threw everyone in a loop with the removal of Kingda Ka and Green Lantern
And La vibora
Coasters that could be gone within the next 5 years, I predict that Gadget's Go Coaster at Tokyo Disneyland will be replaced by something better. Also on the chopping block, Canyon Blaster at Six Flags Great Escape. That is outdated and awful, and there are a lot better family coasters they could get...
The rumor of Invertigo’s demise is greatly exaggerated. 😊
Every year people think it’s going to be gone, but it keeps staying.
Invertigo is low key awesome. Also im making your video suggestion, coasters that put their parks on the map. Should come out in January at the latest
Also, that plot of land is so small, I doubt that there’s much that could replace it
@@jzckvsn It'd have to be a flat ride plot, I think.
Top Thrill 2 will be fascinating to watch. It's going to be either the greatest flop or the greatest comeback in theme park history.
Viper is the only one I don't want them to get rid of.
"Anacoda is the worst Arrow ever"
Drachen Fire wants to know your location
As someone who saw the original video when it came out I can tell you it hasn’t felt like 5 years to me lol
If you’re making another list Steamin Demon Great Escape. I feel it will get replaced for the parks 75th anniversary in 5years.
Such a great location for a good looking modern coaster
Wow 5 years have passed in a hurry. I think that was when Sophie leaped my credit count 😊
Haha in dec 2019 her count was probably around 50
Question, had it not been announced a couple months earlier that it was closing, what danger score would you have given Vortex at KI in your initial video?
Very high. I thought vortex was closing in 2018 when they were teasing Firehawks closure
