    hey girly!
having limited mobility resulted in me having a mental breakdown today, for the first time ever, how crazy that might sound (diagnosed in 2012, had surgery in 2014 & 2017). depression made me care less about my well being, and now I'm FINALLY getting out of that dark place, I realized that I've been taking my scoliosis way too lightly.. & now I start to get my motivation back, I'm bumping my head into so many physical and mental blockages because of my fused spine.
few weeks ago I had the idea to buy new roller skates since I loved skating when I was a kid, I was so excited, and then the fear of falling and damaging the rods or screws made me make up my mind that same day, and I felt so useless & limited in my body.
your video made me think like, why do let my scoliosis get in the way of my passions and my life?? I remembered as a kid I saw fear as a challenge, I never let it discourage me when I was younger.. I'm feeling more confident because of you and I'm happy to share with you I'm buying some roller skates as soon as possible :D
thank you for reminding me of how strong we scoliosis warriors actually are, you made my day... and possibly my life.

Hey, Sarah! I'm also interested in ice skating. I tried it a bit before my spinal surgery, but definitely didn't get to say I can properly do it. Right now I'm looking into techniques or protection wear that could help me be more comfortable while learning (do you have any suggestions?), falling wouldn't be very good for me personally. I guess it can be strange for people to hear that people like us want to try to do activities that imply falling, slipping, but I want to do as many things as I possibly can, just like everybody else, and hopefully there are ways and options for almost everything. After the fusion I've enjoyed swimming, dancing, riding the bike like crazy, even tried sliding water tubes in summer parks and bumping cars at fairs and all was good, just needed to be a little bit more careful. Doesn't sound like much, but it's honest work 😅.
