It's so crazy seeing a full sized character, I'm used to these little dwarves holding huge spears or crossbows
yeah its so dumb they didnt put a limit to how tall and smal you could make a character i would have loved to see everyone looking somewhat normal at least same size, they did the movement speed to lvl the ground for everyone but they should have done the same for the how small you character can be, again this studio makes lost of dumb decisions its so sad when you think they could be so much better if they comunicated with people and listen to all out ideas, its just money to them

nah its almost impossible to fix it now, they would need to roll back rewipe all servers for people to make new char? unless they can somehow overwrite their existing ones tho i doubt, one thing they could do is nerf them, such as they can carry less or everything weights a lot more in their inv or something, and that would be the only way i can see it but i doubt again they care enough.@@UberWarrir01

if u go very low setting u see some decorative stones around ground. mostly the ones that are not harvestable, seems to be floating around, but that's just due to low graphic setting removing some of the foilages and meshes xD
Turn fluid and foliage interaction on, then the 3 multipliers below it set to 0.5 and the rocks stop floating.

this looks fantastic. as an ark player who's played since the game was released in early beta. this is beyond what we couldve imagined for what ark 1 could look like. i hope console can run at this quality

Xbox paid like 2.5m to have evolved on game pass.. so I see it going to game pass.. on launch? Perhaps not so they can get the most bang for their buck- but I see it being on there yes.
The graphics card alone running this is is around $2k, but everything I've seen about this graphics overhaul has been the same as the old game. It's very poorly optimized.

You can easily adjust how much a damage a player does in the settings.
It's obviously modified just for the sake of this showcase
In this showcase I was using a 380% Ascendant Compound Bow. Now don't ask me how I got it
Looks great! I am playing it on a more modest system and even on 1080p low it looks much better than evolved ever did even with the settings cranked up ..... Fairly stable for me too using conservative settings on my CPU/GPU as it does push both very hard! So consoles will not find it easy without more optimisation.

Yea but the 4090 is probably the only true 4K GPU. 4080 doesn't struggle with 4K but you'll get like 30-60 fps on max settings. A lot of things come into play though like bottlenecking or how well optimized the game is. 4090 is expensive af but worth it because it makes unoptimized games look smooth.

Looks great. I really want it but I bought the original Ark on xbox and also bought it on steam. Tried many times to play it with different methods. Never once through the years have I ever seen it launch...

There's a setting for the camera angle. No mod.

I really enjoy the game and have been just taking my time building and just enjoying ark. I literally sat for 1 hour in a chair on scorched earth and enjoyed the stormy view.
This is my favourite game and i enjoy playing it so much! This walk on ark looks so good and pretty.

This. I wish prey animals at least reacted to predators within their vicinity, instead of completely ignoring them until attacked and taking damage.
I mean, they did an okay job with that, at a basic level. Prey animals gravitate towards water sources, and predators follow the prey animals. But it certainly wasn't complex AI

Ark is truly the epitome of survival games. No others can compare
that walking sound while walking inside the swamp bog is soo realistic lol. Although I do love how the world looks, lots of little details should get addressed. Dino running and walking animations don't seem to work well with the actual ground. Also when dinos are killed, they seem to drop to the ground too fast.
They're being killed, they don't need to flu through the air lol, their bodies go limp so they would fall to thr ground pretty instantly
That's because this is still a 2016 game with only a graphical improvement and some QoL changes. Basically the same game on a modded map you have to pay for 😔

What's crazy is the fact this game will run 200+fps on budget PC one day in the future, which is when I'll probably be playing it in the nursing home.

i have 3090 and i can´t use frame generation :c so i play 4k with everything on epic but with dlss balanced, 35 fps but looks very good, i love it, and i hope wildcard give us optimization patchs soon because RTX 3090 and RTX 4090 HAVE to run this game without problems.
its not always about the card, these devs don't optimize the game well, same with the first
change from balanced to ultra performance :D
If it's anything like the old Ark, it'll take 2 years to be optimized. Back when the original game came, I had a 970 on a age the TITAN was the apex GPU and could barely get 30fps at medium, while 2 years latter I could get stable 60fps at epic with the same card. I doubt it'll be such massive leap like that, but it's clear the game is currently just thrown togheter with zero optimizations at all.
@@masteroak9724 the devs used thier cry engine (devs made cry engine I think) (crytech) but it had a weird reflection thing where they were all messed up looking at certain angles etc. it was probably optimizer specifically to run on console for more money, the design was like placeholder everything, placeholder animations, etc. extremely basic in every regard besides graphics in the engine, pretty much pretty foliage but the world didn't seem believable, just dino models floating on a terrain map with stat numbers is what it felt like to me. this at least seems more organic but still stiff and awkward for a "next gen" title amd how much money theyve made

even with a 4090 you're basically forced to use frame gen and dlss. which sucks cus the frame gen causes crashes. source, i have a 4090 and it's pain

@@FireK912 okay but I am running my 4090 without frame gen and still getting 90-110 fps on average, with dlss set to quality, what I'm saying is you don't need frame gen...all that does is boost fps, if you're already running 100fps you don't need to boost it lol
@@coreycarries6325 You might be ok with it but i have 165 hz monitor and the frame gen makes all the difference in the smoothness. if you're fine with 90 fps then by all means turn off frame gen. it's just about personal preference. you def don't need it on to play, that much is true.

Well i was actually hoping to see some Dinos from close with this Graphics. But you killed everything.
You shouldn't need a 1,000$ GPU for this tho. I paid like 600$ for my GPU two years ago and I can barely run this game on medium. Wildcard needs to step their game up, this is an old issue. They haven't even got the original ark in a playable state yet, with the under meshing and other things performance takes a back seat but it's still an issue. Tired of wildcard shenanigans, I wish it'd just work for once, no caveats.

I’m new to pcs but wanting to build one with this graphics card. What other specs do you have?
32 gigs ram is minimum. 2tb ssd is also minimum, I recommend the WD black 850. I got the 2tb and already regret it, but I'll get the 4tb as a secondary. Other SSDs are decent but the Western Digital does better in most tests. With the 3080 ti I can play on mostly max graphics. Some things are just too buggy tho.

I spent my hours playing Ark on the lowest settings, lowered the resolution and would be stoked if I got a consistent 20fps. The contrast is wild, I never imaged Ark could ever look like this

This exactly why I tell people ASA is far better. The MAX graphics are beyond. ASA is the ultimate Ark, making ASE of just a thing in the past, the game that created Ark Survival Ascended. Ark Survival Evolved not forgotten but just not very popular anymore. I love how you made your character a actual character, no messed up limbs or any body part😅 As what I see in the server I'm in. My character is probably the only normal hot curvy female in the server while everyone else male or female are sticks, lumps, or turtle like figures😅 I bet you love seeing your character with no shirt on like me, despite the lack of armor, its great because the insane graphics! So good and to good and I love it.
Havent played in a while. I wonder if we can transfer dinos, characters and worlds?
