Okay hear me out, imagine a monster hunter x reign of fire game where you chase down monsters in your 4x4 blasting machine guns and butt rock and harvest their body parts for sweet fucking exhausts and paint jobs.
The film was really special to me. There's a sequence where they get really upset that a place in England called Pembury is destroyed. We're told that it's like a huge deal. In reality, Pembury is a tiny shitty village where I live. There is nothing of interest there, save for a decent sized hospital on its outskirts. Otherwise it's full of old people in mismatched clothes, and aloof posh folk with Simpsonsesque overbites. It's the UK equivalent of Buttfuck, Delaware essentially. When they mentioned Pembury, I screamed "What" and lost a mouth full of Doritos to the harsh, unforgiving carpet.
As someone who's family have been on this tiny island since the Norman Invasion of 1066, I am surprised you got around to mocking us. For the record the Normans were essentially Vikings. Rollo from the series Vikings is a historical figure who FOUNDED Normandy. His grandson was William the conqueror. That this happened during this game, based on a film that is a guilty pleasure of mine is especially odd. I expected literally none of this.
Norman French is a variation on normal French. Likewise where I live has Guernsey French, a variant of Norman french with pronunciation and words rooted in Norse.

The branding, the intro music and cartoon, and the varying quality of the games played leading to the classic Machinima episode style of bashing shit games or the Silent Hill 2 playthrough style of simply sharing and fawning over something that you love. I appreciate the work and thought that goes into making these videos stand out and your efforts are apparent in the quality of videos like these
I have a story about Reign of Fire Loved the movie, bought the game, (this was when I was like 15 and didn't know any better) and couldn't get through the first level because I missed a key instruction. Stuck it back into the box and ditched it in a cabinet on my desk. It ended up way at the back. About three years later, my house burned down. So while looking through the wreckage of my room--the tv gone, the gamecube gone, my clothes, the bed, everything gone--what do I find in the pile of ashes that was my desk? That's right. It was a game box. What was in it? Reign of Fire. The box was ruined, the disc was intact.
To answer Pat's missile question, a heat-seeking missile wouldn't kill a dragon, though not because of their blood. Heat-seekers don't literally seek every heat source, they're tailored to a more specific type. Like he said, they're designed to shoot down aircraft; they can't just target anything hot, otherwise that'd cause understandable problems. The missiles actually home in on specific IR emissions, particularly the ones that jet engines give off, and are further enhanced due to the extra heat generated on the metal around the engine. Now if you want to shoot down a Pterodactyl, a radar-guided missile is the way to go.
Things I learned from this video, -"You can be 9 at heart". -Riots break out in the UK over "kickball". -If fired into the sky, heat seeking missiles will blow up the sun.
I think it's hilarious that Pat says that this doesn't make sense because of what the dragons eat, when, at two points during the intro, (2:03 and 3:23), the game tells/shows you that they eat ash/fire/burning stuff and people, respectively.

The movie actually explains what the dragons eat: ash. Which seems like a useful diet for a fire breathing monster. Not that it is a realistic diet for something that big, but it has internal consistency at least.
