Wonderful… we have been on the Quest and Venture and planning an Asia cruise next year on Encore. You give a wonderful view of the ship and the top class amenities Seabourn offer. Just hoping there is plenty to do and see on numerous sea days that would happen on our itinerary. Thanks again for a terrific video.
Thanks for the great comments. Our friends just sailed Miami to Gran Canaria and did 12 straight days at sea and loved it, they said there was plenty going on in sea days. On our last cruise we had a galley market lunch on one of the sea days which was amazing (see our seabourn experience video). Have a fantastic time 🚢🎉🥂
Just a quick question as I think on the video you had been on the 28 day Encore Bali to Hong Hong and finishing in Singapore. We are new to Asia and would want to do 14 days of one of these sections. Which in your opinion was the most scenic and interesting ports. This would be a first time glimpse of Asia for us. We have only traveled the Quest and Venture to Polar regions before and trying to decide which interesting Encore 2 week trip to take early next year. @@sandrameech5228 Hi Sandra, we’ve done the Singapore to Hong Kong a few times and also in reverse which calls at Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, and have enjoyed it, especially Caviar in the Surf in Koh Kood which is spectacular! We also did the Philippines cruise Hong Kong to Singapore via Coron and Puerto Princesa in the Philippines and loved it. In Coron we hired a boat to take us to the islands and it was the best snorkelling we’ve ever done, better than the Maldives or Great Barrier Reef, and the freshwater lakes were incredible. The problem is on the Asia itineraries the ship tends to pull into large container style ports which aren’t very nice, but as long as you arrange a tour or get a taxi to a local place of interest it’s great. Going back to Koh Kood though, the whole trip is worth that one day in absolute paradise, the effort the ship go to on that day is unbelievable. Try and book one of the itineraries that takes in Ho Chi Minh City as it’s not to be missed cruising up the Saigon River, the ship docks right in the heart of the city which is so alive and buzzing, great shopping too. You can visit the Cu Chi Tunnels which are fascinating. When the ship leaves it turns in the river and is literally bank to bank, it’s a sight not to be missed. Absolutely love this itinerary. The last cruise we were on had a guy who was an adventurer and did wild and fascinating things, but also we had an MI5 officer! Also they do port presentations in the theatre on all the destinations. Seabourn is great, fantastic service. ❤️🤩
Hi - excellent video which I enjoyed. I agree with so much, and the ships, staff, service, cabins and entertainment are either very good or magnificent. However, I have had numerous experience where I disagree and it is around the food and hence why I wanted to post this different point of view. So let me explain - we are diamond elite members on Seabourn (500+) nights, and since the restart after Covid we have noticed many changes, most I forgive but not the food for me. Since June 2022, we have done revenge travel with over 180+ days on Seabourn across 4 different Seabourn ships and all have the same food problems for me - I have some food allergies mainly around lemon, fruit and chocolate. I also like my food well cooked. However, I have found the quality of food produce and menu to have dropped, the vast majority of recipes now contain lemon (which I believe they are trying to copy Thomas Keller) and all meats are only cooked rare or medium rare and even if you ask for it well done it still comes out pink including things such as chicken and hamburgers. I tend to only eat half my meals as they are poorly prepared or I am allergic to them, and the chefs struggle to modify menus to cater for my allergies as everything now is so pre-prepared. In the Thomas Keller Grill almost ever dish has lemon (including thing like the french fries) and they are not allowed to change the menu so I find this restaurant a disaster. Sushi used to be great but now because of Thomas Keller they cannot have hot food, except miso soup, at night and all the sushi, sashimi, etc is pre=prepared and is covered in lemon. I think you get the point and I have many more examples. Anyway, if you want something that is difference to their standard menus, the food is no better than cafeteria food - I have one more cruise booked this year with Seabourn and then will stop cruising with the them until things improve - I think Seabourn have forgotten about their long standing and loyal customers and it is time to forget about them for a while.
Hi Peter thanks for your comments and notes. This video was created some time ago so probably needs updating! We are on Ovation at Christmas so will do an updated one then. We were on Seabourn Encore in February and the one thing we did notice was the Colonnade was a bit bland and they seemed to offer a lot of noodles and stir fry on most days! 😳 we even commented to the restaurant manager about it. What a shame you have an allergy to lemon that’s very difficult to overcome. Usually Seabourn are very good at special diets but as you say Thomas Keller is a bit controlling over the dining, we used to like it when it was Restaurant 2! We have just been on Explora 1 with Explora Journeys, and it was incredible. Not traditional cruising by any means, more like a 5* land hotel on the water. No announcements either which we loved! Fabulous dining options and service. There’s a blog on our channel. We are uk based travel agents and have already booked discerning clients on the cruise so really interested what their feedback will be, but we imagine nothing but praise… Once again thanks for your comments and if you have any questions then please don’t hesitate to contact us. Hi you two, I was just recently on the Ovation in September and loved it. Booked another Seabourn cruise for this coming April on the Quest. It was my first ocean sailing, beforehand only had experienced river cruises ( 7 ) with Uniworld , have you tried them? Its on par with Seabourn as far as price and quality is concerned and guests on board of course

As far as river cruises are concerned pick one that has many stops along the way , two to stay away from are Bordeaux and Venice for short distace travelled but all others are excellent. i am also booked on the Budapest Danube cruise for my birthday next September looking forward to that one as well@@theposhtravelblog
