Been on a couple of Regent cruises in the last year. Totally agree with your assessment, would find it difficult to settle for anything less in the future. Looking to book one for later this year. Fabulous!
@@nildamager1649 Yes it’s going to be bigger and have an extra speciality restaurant. We are sure it’s going to be incredible, as we’ve just disembarked Grandeur and that was amazing! Video to follow next week! ❤️
I've been on one Regent cruise last January on the Splendor. What an amazing trip! Loved EVERYTHING about it. I'm on the Mariner this November on my first Solo cruise. Can't wait to meet new friends. Love this video and I totally agree with everything you have shared, thanks so much!
Goodness. Just the thought of coming home from a trip with freshly laundered clothes, instead of having to deal with a pile of laundry as the first post-trip chore, sounds amazing.
Nice room! Roomy work desk! if I remember you said Ocenia had sub par food and was stingy on the booze, An event planner everyday! Included excursions! I would love to go-food is No1, booze is No2.
Love watching your videos, we are about to go on our 1st Regent cruise, we normally cruise with Oceania who we love. Maybe see you onboard an Oceania cruise one day. 👍
Have just come off the Splendor Wish we had known about the wine list. They did not want to give us anything other than the evenings selection, even when we asked!
Lovely review. The only thing they should consider is that brown headboard. That color turns me completely off. I see brown head boards in 1 and 2 star motels/hotels.
Thanks so much 🙏 We haven’t been on Silversea for 8 years and it’s changed a bit since then so can’t give you a proper comparison. However it’s on the list! As soon as we’ve been on it we will put some videos out there and do a comparison. Have a great cruise ❤️🚢🥂🤗
Ummm that’s a video we want to do! 😂 Seabourn does better events (eg caviar in the surf) Regent does better dining. Seabourn’s lead in cabins have the edge over Regent. Regent include laundry in the fare. Video to follow!! 😂👍🏼
We came off the Splendor feeling a little disappointed. Watching your video made us think we were just unlucky. The cabin, the tours and the laundry were wonderful, as was the speciality dining. The Compass Rose was disappointing. The service was often slow and the food was on several occasions lukewarm. The soufflés arrived on the plate with the jug of sauce. No one poured the sauce on!Afternoon tea was nothing like the Explorer. The sandwiches and cakes were all together on the trolley and there were scones on the bar but that was all! Overall we prefer Seabourn!
Oh what a shame, we had an incredible experience. Agree the soufflés are better on Seabourn though! Afternoon tea was very good so think you were definitely unlucky and the food in compass rose - amazing! We are off to join the Quest this morning for 3 weeks so lots more videos on Seabourn to follow. We’ve been many times on Seabourn and are a few points from Diamond Status so it’s like going home. Regent was incredible though and would go back at the drop of a hat. Sad to hear your experience was under par and I’m sure that’s not the norm. 🥂
@@theposhtravelblog Very jealous. We were on Quest Oct 2022 from Montreal to Miami with an overnight in NY. Brilliant. We also have travelled many times on Seabourn (Pride, Spirit, Odyssey and Quest not quite Diamond yet!!
@@theposhtravelblogWe enjoy your videos, thanks! We were on the Explorer shortly after you, in May, two weeks Alaska. It was our third Regent cruise. We had numerous issues. We found the food to be only OK, or at least it was not as good as Seabourn (4 cruises) or Oceania (4 cruises, all on Marina). Except Setti Mari Italian, which was very good. We had none of the special events you showed. There was NEVER service at the bottom of the gangway. No tent, no person to greet, nothing. We were shocked at that. In Skagway we were treated abysmally, they made us wait after their excursion, 20-30 minutes in cold, rain and wind, before we could reboard the ship. Everyone was furious. It was our 2nd lackluster cruise on Regent, out of three. We (myself and three traveling companions) all agree that Seabourn is the best, for us.
@@kahuna1999that’s unbelievable that your experience was so different to ours yet only a matter of weeks later! What a shame as we absolutely loved it and couldn’t fault it. We had a bad experience on Oceania earlier in the year, very mediocre, we think we need to try again though as lots of comments saying that’s not the norm. Seabourn though we love! Thanks for watching ❤️
I recently discovered your channel and like it very much. We will be on the Grandeur in December. We will be back on Seabourn next spring. Maybe Regent or Explora after that? Keep up your travels and vlogging, it gives inspiration. Thanks.
😂 oh that’s hard we’ve been shot!!😂😂 Loved them both. First time on both, hard to choose between the two think Explora had a really cool vibe and amazing public areas, Regent had the edge on speciality dining, but both amazing! 🤩
We did the Grandeur maiden voyage and would never sail Regent again. Each to their own but we struggle to see why we would return. Nice ship, with good staff, no way is it 6 star and the fellow passengers were in their 80s. Compass Rose looked like a mobility scooter park every evening. There are so many other, better options out there to spend your money on.
That’s so sad as we just had one of the best experiences we’ve ever had on a cruise ship with Regent. Didn’t see one mobility scooter, and yes it was mainly retired but there was a nice age mix on there too. We had some fantastic nights, met some great people, and enjoyed some of the best cuisine at sea. What a shame you didn’t enjoy the same experience we did. We are currently on Oceania and very disappointed with the food but I was assured by a chef on seabourn it was the best cuisine at sea! I think we’ve been unfortunate, and maybe you were on your cruise, but it shouldn’t happen in the first place. We have happy memories of our Regent cruise and can’t wait to go on another. Sorry you had a bad one 😢
Oh dear. The rule of thumb is to never go on maiden voyages because there are too many kinks to work out. You may get a good deal but the ship/staff are using you as a guinea pig. Make note. That goes for every maiden voyage.
I saw your same comment in another video. I would try Regent again if I were you. We found the average age to be around 60, with a few families and kids mixed in (but not too many). Yes, there were many elderly folks, but nothing out of the ordinary. Compass Rose has never been my favorite place to eat. Too large of a space. We usually crash the specialty restaurants and wait for a table while at the bar. The cabins & service on Regent have been impeccable. The food, B+, maybe A- sometimes. Cocktails A++.
One age-related annoyance we experienced (twice) is folks joining excursions that they clearly did not have the physical strength to be on, despite the descriptions stating "strenuous." In one, an older heavy set woman literally got stuck down a well while we all waited. In another, an older gent started losing consciousness way down inside an underground tour. We all had to wait a hour for medics to haul him out (he was fine later). We all get old, if we're lucky. But please know your limits and read the brochure!
So excited to see this. We are sailing RSSC in February for the first time. Going to sail South America on the explorer. Thanks for all of the tips!
Have a fantastic time! Regent is our favourite cruise line and absolutely love Explora. The Pacific Rim restaurant - the best!! 🤗🥂
Thank you for this. I just booked Explorer to Alaska. I haven't tried this line before, and I'm really looking forward to it.
Our favourite cruise line and loved Explorer! Don’t miss the truffle dim sum and watermelon salad in Pacific Rim! 😂 Have a great time 🎉🤗

That is such an amazing benefit of the cruise, opening the case and all the clothes pressed like a 5* hotel absolute heaven!! ❤️❤️❤️

Did our first regent last summer in sweaty Mediterranean - having the daily laundry was amazing!!!
😂 the laundry is fab! ❤️

For me, it’s the size of the ship that’s number 1.
