  • Here we have the iconic 1979 Bally KISS pinball machine for your viewing pleasure.
This game sure is pretty. It's a fairly lackluster game, but it sure looks good. Hitting the K-I-S-S targets lights the corresponding letter in the KISS grid at the centre of the playfield. The letters in the four KISS words and the arrows surrounding the grid operate as the machine's bonus. Lighting the whole grid once lights the super bonus, which is worth 40k points. Completing the grid a 2nd time lights the colossal bonus for 80k points. Completing it one more time awards a total of 120k. A whole line of KISS can be lit by completing the drop targets or by hitting the "light-a-line" rollover at the top of the playfield when lit.
Hitting the A-B-C-D targets the first time awards 2x bonus. The 2nd time awards extra ball and the third time (and each time thereafter awards the special).
The spinners are interesting to shoot for and are located at an unusual location at the top of the playfield.
KISS was designed by Jim Patla with art by Kevin O'Connor. For more information on this machine, see here:

This was the first electronic pinball I played and the incessant bloops is what stayed with me. To a 13-year-old me in '81, it felt like a cheap toy rather than a "real" pinball machine. That feeling about electronic pinball has never left me, but I guess I'm just an old dinosaur!

Great game even if it is a bit too easy. I remember playing this with my brother all through the eighties. Two quarters, win 5 more games, the max setting and play literally for hours. So long that we would sell or give the games away due to numb fingers and sore wrists! Good times...

London pinball I don't know if you could give a little free advice and I have a gottlieb Water World dive Hole doesn't work the opto works but the up Kicker doesn't work and the 67 line of the strobe lights the flashers don't work on the left hand side by the flipper backbox right hand middle think if I take those lights out the upkicker will work it's just the basic question

I'd ask these questions on pinside.com or on the Pinball Repair Help Group on Facebook. Lots of great techs on there. Good luck.
