    The serial is actually EKI 6885
    E for Electronic. KI for kiss as they used the first 2 letters of the game title. Then the number 6885. They started the run at 1001
    Such a great looking game. That one is in amazing original condition!

    Man, the memories that brings back. My dad bought one for me for my 18th birthday in 1985. Relocated out of state for what I thought would be a temporary time, and had a friend hold on to it. It ended up shorting our and lost power. He tossed it. I would kill to have it back in any condition.

    I played this game back in 1982 at a bar my mother and step-father stopped at on a regular basis since we were friends with the owners, and always did great on the game, and they only had it for 2-3 weeks then the vendor exchanged it with another pinball game

    • @jeopardy60611
      @jeopardy60611 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LyonsArcade The problem with playing pinball on a cruise ship is that while the boat is in motion, it is likely to tilt the machine. I recall that the ship had Crash, Night Driver, and Atari Starship I, which were video games, and those were better to play on a moving ship. The ship had, in addition to KISS, another pinball machine called Piranha.

    Great machine Ron! I know you like to set the machines to three balls a game, but the only time I ever saw a machine in the wild set that way was at the 7-11, when they had a pinball machine. All the other arcades and bowling alleys I played pinball at had them set to five balls a game. I used to have two pinballs, a Bally Captain Fantastic, and a Williams Aztec. I had to let them go when I relocated to the west coast for a job transfer. I miss them.

    I hear the train in the background. Do you do anything with model trains ?
    There is a loyal group of train fans who monitor the ATCS ( Automated Train Control System ) that some railroad companies transmit data over the air, replaces the old wires that used to run along the trackside on telephone poles.
    I used to monitor parts of the D&H in upstate NY and had a server running to feed the data to other rail fans to monitor the ATCS
    The Harrisburg PA and Reading PA area has a lot of loyal ham radio clubs that provide feeds and servers and several bed and breakfast and dinners have displays in their businesses showing the live data.
    You might want to look into it
    I would have to look and see if your area has coverage already
    If it does, it would only require a small PC and monitor to display your rail traffic on your local rails
    There is a group ATCSmon , used to be on Yahoo, I think they are now on .io
    Yahoo shut down their groups last year.
    But it is free software and once installed and configured, it just runs without any user intervention.
    It is cool to watch and you could have a monitor on the wall showing it running.
    If you do anything with model trains, or know any business that does, it is a great addition.

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's pretty cool, I had never heard of anything like that but it makes sense. There are several railroad tracks in the area, it would probably look pretty good locally since the trains run often....

    • @ocsrc
      @ocsrc 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LyonsArcade I looked at Google Earth and the tracks look to be Norfolk southern
      They should be on the air
      the atcs frequency they used up in New York was channel 5 and I think they use that for their entire East coast system where they own the tracks
      If you have a scanner try listening on
      897.9375 and 936.9375
      The first frequency is the control point wayside devices and the second frequency is the base tower talking to the control point wayside devices
      The second frequency is much more powerful and easier to pick up
      I'll have to take a look and see if there is a server for that area and if there are any monitoring stations
      There are six pairs of ATCS frequencies
      If you scan from 935 MHz to 937 MHz, you should hear the BCP frequency
      Each controlpoint sends a signal every minute, and it sounds like a digital chirp
      when a train is going through the control points talk much more often so you can get almost continuous digital transmissions
      but when I get a chance I'll look up the information for that track and find out if it is monitored by the group

    What is the song that this machine plays when you first boot it up? I have been wondering that since 1979. I know it plays "I Wanna Rock & Roll All Night" when you start it.

    • @jeopardy60611
      @jeopardy60611 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Joe's Classic Video Games I’m checking it out now, and I do hear the phrase “Shout it, shout it, shout it out loud.” But I’m still curious about which KISS song is played when you first power up the machine.

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The flyer says it only plays 2 KISS songs, so if it plays something different when you power it up it's probably just a random song the other games play. You may have to wait another 40 years to figure out the name of it :)
