The reason I think you got that bluff through is you did it against a good thinking player who took your image and range into account, and you weren’t tilted or anything or stuck piles at the time. In your regular games when they don’t work, you’re doing it against sticky calling stations who don’t think about such things, or just don’t like folding

I think your point @0:55 is really interesting and important, something that I haven't thought of really as a semi-new player. You're somewhat likely to see a weaker opponent play face up to this lead I think. Cool insight, I'm a brand new viewer and just immediately learned something.
That's a tough session. I feel like my last couple of sessions have gone the same way. I can't get paid when I have a monster or my opponents catch a two outer when I have a strong hand myself and I'm forced to pay them off.

Forgetting to enact the dog care steps and then missing the highway exit, under normal circumstances would be red flags that you shouldn't play that day - or at least rest and then reevaluate your mental acuity for playing or not. Mental sharpness, of course, waxes and wanes from day to day. But admirably, you acted with integrity and honored your commitment to play on the live stream only to run bad. Better days ahead!

Yea I don’t understand why he 4 bets with marginal hands but doesn’t with stronger hands. If he 4 bets there then maybe the guy 5 bets or even jams and he can get away from the hand. If he raises yo say 700-800 the guy most likely rips in all for 2800 or whatever he had. Then Lex could have easily folded, you can’t be 4 betting with marginal hands if you aren’t also going to add KQ suited AQ-AK suited as well.
I don’t think cold calling a 3 bet in this particular circumstance vs this opponent is bad even if it is in the sb considering big bird has been 3betting far worse kx hands and just happened to have the one that had lex dominated here
@@samronalds7799 I would agree but the dude was 3 betting a lot so if your going to 4 bet with marginal hands you gotta balance that out with good hands as well. Especially when he folded his to a 4 bet before. Plus you get to find out his hand strength by 4betting which is one of the reason for doing it in the first place. Unless the player is a complete maniac you can narrow their range down to a very small percentage of hands and you’ll find out if you’re dominant a lot of the time as well. Your going to get 5bet shoved on when you’re dominated especially when their playing 60ish bb, and if they just flat call out of position then that tells you a lot as well. If I’m that player I’m only calling with KK-AA and shoving Jacks plus AQ-AK. Sometimes I’ll flat with QQ and add 10’s in my shoving range but everything else I’m Folding.
Some time ago I decided screw what the books say: I lost a lot more money on hero calls than I made and I lost a lot more ship it bluffs than I made on getting them through. Unless you know your opponent assume they have it or will call it.
Tough sesh some bad variance. It happens. Just have to be happy with your play and you will improve. Just human nature to get better at something if you keep trying. One tip I would give is not playing different than you normally would play off stream. I look at it this way. What if a quarterback has perfect form in practice but as soon as he is on a televised game he starts trying to be extra fancy with his form and isn’t as good. Just an analogy. It’s your hard earned money and no stream or coming back to a stream just because you play tight.

If you miss that exit and stay on Turnpike it is around 60 miles to do a legal u-turn.
Lex nice video, but I def think you need to hit the books and work on your 3bet/4bet pot strategy. A9s def isn’t a defend to a 3bet from UTG + 2.
