I love the honesty, and transparency. As a poker player myself, we all have days like these. Watching your experiences, reminds me that it's not just happening to me. Everything you stated was spot on. Do not play on days your mental isn't at its best. 💯
The mental aspect of the game has always been my toughest demon. Bad thoughts seem to breed bad beats and bad play. I now try to visualize myself being the winner in the trips over trips hands and visualize good karma. It has helped. Your Vlogs are great Lex, and I appreciate that you share your frustration as well as your triumphs of playing poker.
You’ve become my favorite poker vlogger Lex. Love your style of play and honesty. Also how you’re incorporating some of your life outside of poker is great! The poker sessions are enjoyable and fun to watch too!
Hey, really appreciate showing all ups and downs. A lot of videos out there just show winning hands and portray themselves like they always win each and every hand.
This is one of your best vlogs. Even though you lost and I feel extremely bad for you. But it shows the realness of poker! Like always, this is the reason you’re the best poker vlogger.
I'm from Maryland too, played at coconut creek for the first time last year. Just some 2/5 but won 700 with pocket Kings. King came on the flop, aggressive player was first to act, went all in. My girl was asleep at our air BnB and I couldn't miss the opportunity to check out south Florida at night. Great memory, still vivid. Anyway, tough night for you but hang in there and regroup mentally. We've all been there my friend. Best of luck!
Lexo !! You have just Past BO on my Watch List !!! You are Now my #1 Watched Poker Blogger/ MotorCyclist. Happy you Realize That Being Angry, Stressed or Impatient Effects Your Game.. You have to Be aware of this and discipline enough to not Play in this Mode … Nice Bike Keep Trucking !!!
Great vlog, Lex although this was for sure a terrible night/session! Thanks for being so honest and transparent! It makes me also thinking about my play in terms of not playing when you are some kind of distracted with other things. I am far away playing poker for a living but also have/had some sessions where I should have called it a day when facing tilt. So, it is was it is and try not to get this night into your head. Try to shake it of, take some break and think more on your extremely good year as you said in the beginning. Mathematically you are still over 96% ahead this year. So, just stick to that and see you in your next video ☘️
I am not a pro Lex. So I can't critique your play. To me, I like your transparency showing both good hands and not so good. All the best luck at the tables and with the new bike.
In Tommy Angelo's outstanding "Elements of Poker" he speaks of reciprocity and finding advantages outside of standard play against your opponents. He encourages becoming the best at taking breaks, and I've taken that to heart. Learning to get up from the table and go for a walk; it helps you when you take better breaks than your opponents. It also teaches you that standing up isn't the end of the world, and soon you're leaving games in spots where your opponent would keep playing and losing. All of this gives you another piece to your edge at the table. Your closing statement shows you understand this value, so incorporate taking a break into your everyday game, practice it and make it more natural so it becomes a tool when you're on tilt. It's made a huge difference in my game. The time I spend at the tables I'm playing my best and when I'm playing my worst I know it's time to leave and fight another day. Great stuff as always Lex, really enjoy your content.
I watch your vlogs from Australia and i think you showed some great value in personal confidence. I think you attitude showed the to read your emotions and if you have a negative vib, take it as a sign to give this day a break. Great outro. Good job. Next Vlog will be a Winner for sure. Really enjoy your videos. Keep up a positive attitude.
Hey, man! I liked it. Thanks for bringing this up. Nice of you being honest and sharing a valuable experience. Agreed: have a deep rest. Pick up your pieces and come back. You can win all that back. And more.
It sucks that you had such a rough night but it’s good that you recognize where you are messing up and are able to maybe do better. Good luck in the near future and I hope you pull out of it.
I'm so glad you showed us the street bike! I have watched you close to the beginning of your channel.the poker content has always been great but the CB Takes it up a level! I've been riding for many years and the street bikes are by far the most fun to ride, I've had a norton, vmax,BMW and have had a few days on different Harleys but my brother's KZ1000 is the funnest bike I've ever been on I rode my friends ZRX Kawasaki and it looks very similar to your Honda Have fun but please be careful out there Everybody is on their phones driving
We love you brother great content! Keep up the hard work. Glad you show the ups and downs so guys like me who dream of playing poker for a living see it's tough as hell. Guess I'll stick to my day job. Haha
Thanks for posting this one. Most poker vloggers are not brave enough or honest enough to show when it all goes sideways, which of course it does for every player at some point.
@@SketchyPoker he does not have to fold an A. As long as he calls 3-bet pfr and a flop C-bet, then that's a clear message: give up! So: you burn some funds, yet you save a lot. Moreover: you seem confident cuz, it looks like you know what you're doing.
The grind !!! I can tell you many things I do even if we don’t tackle the same market. First poker, there will still be a game the next day. Don’t play if your tired, angry or hungry. Preparation is key, (meditation, relaxation, prayers) I think you are pretty good at self evaluating yourself. Be accountable to it or find someone to be accountable to and ask yourself, Am I in the zone? Do my edge is still there? Anyways, a lot easier said then done but keep a student attitude, I cheer for you.
Sucks to see man but thank you for sharing. Currently going through a similar mind bender. This video helped me be more comfortable in my beliefs that it's part of the process. Nights like this will happen and worse but it's probably something that you will come out stronger from. Minor setback for a major comeback. Best wishes. 🙌
Also, that queens full hand against action dude. You frustrated me so bad with that hand haha. You CANNOT lose that hand so check and let dude bet worse hands/draws or give him a free card to hit the river. You probably stack him on the river and end the night with a different outtro
Its cool you re keeping it real. I thought something was off when you ordered that wine. I am with you on passiance we all been there. But i believe in you and you will get some back next time. Again thnks for keeping it real. All the best from marrakech
6:00 when the top card pairs it means villain will have a harder time folding second or even 3rd pair OTR. Let alone if he had an ace that was starting to get uncomfortable he’s just never folding, so almost all hands in range other than missed flush draws and missed gutshots (which u block) are just sigh calling or snap calling. Very hard to check back queen high though
@lex you're my favorite poker TH-camr because you're the only one who is real to the core and does not maintain a facade or persona. The way you explain poker super resonates. I am a better player because of you. Seeing you experience the downswing and your reaction and self criticism reminds me of how I feel when this happens and helps me understand how to learn from it Your rock man! You're an amazing poker player.
I've always really appreciated your videos for your absolute transparency good or bad. I could sense your impatience and growing agitation at the first game and I would not have gone on to play the 2nd game, especially when the gas station is closed and then there's a major traffic jam and you can feel the agiatation and negstive thought building. You're a better player than I am, but I've always been very good about being honest with myself as far as where I'm at mentally and just not playing on the days where I feel impatient/agitated with factors away from rhe table because I feel it usually makes me play to aggressively, which usually doesn't work out well. Good luck next time.
Loved the outro today honest but you get that at cards, brutal day, I loved how you realised when your not mentally on you shouldn’t play you will be back soon on the winners list
many good lucks and best wishes to you Lex, you're videos are are kool and you're a great teacher believe it or not. sometimes we make it sometimes we lose it, it's one of those things... but that's poker bro, keep your head up and stay focused, you'll get it back man. much love to you dude!!1
Its good to see a vlog where you get pasted, because its an important part of being a professional player. I'm so glad you posted this, not from a schadenfreude but because we are ALL going to have nights like this. Not chasing loses is vital to bankroll management.
I feel your pain Lex. I played a big 1/3 game at the Wynn. Started strong, up $700+ then got hammered with a flopped set………….I guess we’ve all been there. Not fun. I’m Taking a few days off too, to re-group my head!
Its funny you said that at the end too cause I’m only 400 hrs in so a lot of things are new to me. I always try to stay as self aware as possible and I’ll have those days where im not feeling 100% but its hard to find the balance of should i not play cause im not 100% or should i play because just cause its poker its still work i have to also have the discipline to show up when i planned on it. You know what im saying.
hey Lex never knew you rode, that's super cool. but be careful out there! I'm the kid in the power wheelchair at hardrock and your first meet up game, and idk if i ever mentioned it but I crashed my kawi 500 when i was 16 and couldn't remember anything about it. Drivers in FL are crazy so drive like you're invisible!
I love you as a pokervlogger Lex, and i absolutely do not enjoy seing you lose. However, it do find it pretty funny when you go on tilt and vlogging it cant deny that :)
I was in Vegas a few weeks ago and had several sessions where regs were extremely aggressive. Going all in on river & I called them down with a single pair. The aggression of the “new players” works more often than not.
I stopped playing a couple months ago cause I ran like you did tonight 4 nights per week for a month.. Playing 1/2. Was up huge from being a pretty consistent winner for almost a year with occasional bad nights but then got cooled every hand, so gave it up. I know it'll turn around but it lost its joy. I'll get back to it maybe in a couple months
Lex man im of course not happy you lost but i am happy you post them still. As a fellow grinder its good to be able to relate. Keeps it musc more realistic as well. Love that you have the humility to do it too. 💪🙏 on a 5k downswing myself right now 😢 lol
It's not surprising tilt will happen when you're getting amazing hands that would normally win, but getting beat. Can't stay like that, you know that. Always looking forward to your next video. Thank you for the entertainment Lex!
My way of playing when things start going wrong is to retreat and play small pots, check and call or fold, until things turn around. I feel it is ok to make big bluff only when the session is in your favour. When it's not, most of the time players are going to outplay you and only call with strong hand because they perceive you as being on some tilt, trying to recoup your loses in one shot, which you are going to be most of the time. Play big when the table is good, play small when its not!
Learned a long time ago if the session is not going your way. Getting drawn out on , coolered, rivered etc. Multiple times it's just better to call it a night and live to play another day. Sometimes the cards just don't go your way.
Lex, I want to keep it 100% real with you. Even if everything in your life were going absolutely perfect aside from poker, the result (of those 2 sessions) very likely could have been the exact same or even worse. That's just poker. Sorry about the big loss, we definitely appreciate the great content that you put out. Peace and blessings.
I would like advice from everyone..how do you react when playing the next session After your biggest loss..I have just had my biggest loss and ran the worst I have ran in about two years
Those nights that no matter what you do you are going to end up with a losing session really sucks. Even if you take away the qt punt it's still a big losing session. This is part of the game. A really hard part.
Tough day for sure. I know you’ll recover. You’re a way better than good poker player and one of the most interesting vloggers. Keep on charging forward.
Easy comes, easy goes.....next time you get it back !!! Lose with set 3 times helps to have a bad night......think in positive , you have a good year and can travel and live doing something you like....
This week I got bluffed off my hand when I hit the nut flush and the board paired on the river when villain went all in three ways. I lost a 400bb pot folding to his 4 high flush that I guess he jammed on for value. He played his hand like two pair that boated on river. I can't stop thinking about that hand. I then proceeded to bust just minutes later. I'm in the same boat as you.
17:15 Top pair can't call your river bet, as it does not exist! (Top pair would never checked both flop and turn in this hand context). If not a flush, the only hand to call is a higher set.
I took a break from poker I am down like $1000 in 3-4 weeks no matter what my plays aint working or my opponent just have it. Sometimes it's good to take breaks for a like month then come back when your ready. Everyone goes on a downswing or really bad days.
I love the honesty, and transparency. As a poker player myself, we all have days like these. Watching your experiences, reminds me that it's not just happening to me. Everything you stated was spot on. Do not play on days your mental isn't at its best. 💯

Good video! I relate to not playing when you sense it's a bad time or head space. Seems you have a good balance with your other hobbies.
It sucks that you had such a rough night but it’s good that you recognize where you are messing up and are able to maybe do better. Good luck in the near future and I hope you pull out of it.
Damn Lex. Rough night. The bright side is this is a small dent into your overall profit for the year. You will recover!
I'm so glad you showed us the street bike!

Thanks for posting this one. Most poker vloggers are not brave enough or honest enough to show when it all goes sideways, which of course it does for every player at some point.
Best blogger by far-you are a good player, you get them next time!!
yeah the Q10 hand was pretty ambitious. You don't have the range advantage on that board either when you just call preflop.
He’s just never folding an ace that’s why it’s so bad a king might even call putting him on a bluff
@@SketchyPoker he does not have to fold an A. As long as he calls 3-bet pfr and a flop C-bet, then that's a clear message: give up! So: you burn some funds, yet you save a lot. Moreover: you seem confident cuz, it looks like you know what you're doing.
Well said, massive punt
NOT ONLY THAT...BUT THAT SNAP 🫰 CALLED ON THE TURN BET WAS A CLEAR SIGN HE WAS NOT FOLDING TO ANY RIVER..😂😂❤
Flop is marginal but after it is a pure punt. River jam is awful.
The grind !!! I can tell you many things I do even if we don’t tackle the same market.

When playing Double Board Pineapple Bomb Pots do you have to play both cards?
Absolutely brutal night man..
but you’re a pro for a reason. You’ll be back to crushing it next session 👊🏻 love the honesty

Sick bike lex! I am starting a poker vlog and thought I’d be the first to Introduce a motorcycle! Beat me to it.
Blow off the tilt with a nice long ride on that sweet new ride! You'll get it back Lex!
Love your videos. Keep it up. Love the motorbike btw ❤😊
Ouch..

Hang in there brother. That's the week I'm having. Down 10K on the week, wipes out the last 3 weeks work. Back to the grind.
Mmhmm

‘Hopefully straddle is on because I am running so hot this year’
Famous last word
Ray Guy would be proud Thanks for the content
Keep it up, I have had many of those days playing low stakes but definitely a lost it is always painful.
Look at this guy ! Riding motorcycles, playing high stakes poker daily, flexing the guns 💪 life is good !
thank you for your video, i am on a downswing as well. i am very frustrated
Its funny you said that at the end too cause I’m only 400 hrs in so a lot of things are new to me. Man the first table was brutal 😉
Nice bike
I was in Vegas a few weeks ago and had several sessions where regs were extremely aggressive. Going all in on river & I called them down with a single pair. The aggression of the “new players” works more often than not.
Roll w/ the punches! Remember Rocky saying it's not about how hard you can hit, it's about how hard you can be hit and keep moving forward!
September is halfway thru the year?
I stopped playing a couple months ago cause I ran like you did tonight 4 nights per week for a month.. Playing 1/2. @Lex O Poker What was your favorite track to ride in MD?
Lex man im of course not happy you lost but i am happy you post them still. As a fellow grinder its good to be able to relate. Keeps it musc more realistic as well. Love that you have the humility to do it too. 💪🙏 on a 5k downswing myself right now 😢 lol
THAT SET OVER SET...HE REALLY PUT U ON A FLUSH 😂😂😂 SAVED YOU YOUR STACK 😉
It's not surprising tilt will happen when you're getting amazing hands that would normally win, but getting beat. Can't stay like that, you know that. Always looking forward to your next video. Thank you for the entertainment Lex!
Just a bad day, ouch. Take a couple days off. Relax and get back in there 💪. 🤞
My way of playing when things start going wrong is to retreat and play small pots, check and call or fold, until things turn around. I feel it is ok to make big bluff only when the session is in your favour. Play big when the table is good, play small when its not!
Where in Maryland ? I’m from Northern Virginia
See the smart sharks treat their fish right. What a beast buying wine for the table
Play bad (Q10 off) run bad is always a tough session, been there. Enjoy the vlogs Lex.
Learned a long time ago if the session is not going your way. Getting drawn out on , coolered, rivered etc. Multiple times it's just better to call it a night and live to play another day. Sometimes the cards just don't go your way.
Huge punt but we’ve all been there..I did the same thing last week when I knew my opponent has aces😂
The only 100% true vloger
Lex, I want to keep it 100% real with you. Even if everything in your life were going absolutely perfect aside from poker, the result (of those 2 sessions) very likely could have been the exact same or even worse. That's just poker. Sorry about the big loss, we definitely appreciate the great content that you put out. Peace and blessings.
I would like advice from everyone..how do you react when playing the next session After your biggest loss..I have just had my biggest loss and ran the worst I have ran in about two years
Lex..where in MD did you grow up?? Currently in MD
You will bounce back. Your mental game seems on point. But today that run was beyond belief
QT was probably one of the biggest punts I’ve ever seen you make
Those nights that no matter what you do you are going to end up with a losing session really sucks. Even if you take away the qt punt it's still a big losing session. This is part of the game. A really hard part.
great video...sorry for loss...i used to play creek...lol
Peaks and valleys!! Prepare for an upswing, but be careful. Checking is your friend.
Thanks for posting. Now I know what not to do. Ouch. Two bad sessions on the same day has to hurt.
Ugh I felt every single beat you took
Feeling ya had same run outs on line this weekend. Need to take a couple of days off and relax
Tough day for sure. I know you’ll recover. You’re a way better than good poker player and one of the most interesting vloggers. Keep on charging forward.
lol 10:30clock, sorry sorry Alex. Couldn’t help it, great video though!
Bad day at Blackrock, it happens Lex, better days ahead buddy!!
Bro what part of md you from?
Make a set of personal poker rules. Many you mentioned in this video are on my list 👊
Sorry for your loss I have been on a huge loss lately myself very depressing 😊
Love your content bro you give me motivation to never give up on my poker dream even tho im down tremendously rn😅😅
Easy comes, easy goes.....next time you get it back !!!
Lose with set 3 times helps to have a bad night......think in positive , you have a good year and can travel and live doing something you like....
Put your helmet on Lex o! I want to continue watching your vlogs. Lol
Especially in Florida!
Would like to propose a challenge. Start at 1/2 max buy in and work your way up to your normal 5/10 table in one day
17:15 Top pair can't call your river bet, as it does not exist! (Top pair would never checked both flop and turn in this hand context). If not a flush, the only hand to call is a higher set.
The dealer on the q 10 hand put me on tilt with the handling of chips
Just one of those days. You'll get it back.
Poker can be a cruel game......
Ups & Downs,,,,can get expensive.

Tough one indeed😢 Take some days off. Take a nice scenic ride on the bike.
I took a break from poker I am down like $1000 in 3-4 weeks no matter what my plays aint working or my opponent just have it. Sometimes it's good to take breaks for a like month then come back when your ready. Everyone goes on a downswing or really bad days.
