Thank you! You made this so simple. I almost gave up and then common sense kicked in and I said to myself, “Why is everyone making this so difficult with so many folds! Today, you are my blessing.
I am new to sewing. I've tried to teach myself before & failed at it. Bias was one of the sticking points that had me giving up more than once. Cutting seemed to be a simple concept, but every explanation I read on the subject left me scratching my head. This video was Exactly what I needed. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
I know exactly what you mean. I'm a novice really and I had been so worried about understanding and mastering the sewing machine. I had no idea that cutting would be the most challenging element to learning to sew.
Wow I love this informative tutorial.. Im having a hell of a time at the moment putting a neckband in in a shirt, and a tailor friend of mine said that I should cut the neckband piece 'on the bias' instead to make the insertion easier, especially around the neck curvature of the main bodice... so this video explains perfectly why that would be needed :-) Bless you from the United kingdom Scott :-)
You mean Binding not Banding. After turning your handpicked several times how did you keep track of where the Bias line actually was? Because it needs to be cut on a diagonal of where the weave of fibers are
