I remember one of the first camping trips my daughter experienced. We rented a 12' ft uhaul box trailer and slept in that.. it turned out fantastic! Went to the Ozarks. Actually my brother, sister in-law, nieces and nephews, daughter & her friend.. brother had a pop up camper.. we hiked, had a huge fire, ate.. best time ever.. so nice to see you sharing these times with your daughter..

@@TolbersCamping also keep your CO Detector a little lower then the level your head will be at as CO and CO2 are heavier than air, so thats were your greatest concentration will be. I would leave the zipper on the door unzipped about an inch or so, because there again that is where you want your small draft to be. That tent should have flaps around the bottom, and you want them out to put snow or what have you on them to seal the bottom of the tent up. You only want a little draft on the bottom. Not a lot. 😁 Happy camping. Looking forward to another video.
I have an Eskimo Ice hub too. I didn't think that the ice anchors that it came with would work well in soil, so I bought some tent stakes to go with it. I hadn't thought about using a drill
@@TolbersCamping I just used 1/4 carriage bolts , head side down so they run through the bottom of the skies, washer and nuts in the sled , I cut the back part of the ski off on the first sled .

There have been black beers seen in the neighborhoods around there a few times. Also my dad used to work for the dnr at sherburne a long time ago and there were some bears back then. I will be getting my license to carry soon for when I go way up north though.

Hi this is the first time I've seen your show and I have to say I liked it I'll tell you what I like about it. you It's you you make the show I've seen a lot of camping shows and we all love it who likes camping of course but some guys when they're speaking I find it annoying it seems like I'm watching an instruction video in a lot of them there's a few guys I like Baum outdoors and the outdoor boys the reason I like Baum he's just a great guy and he blesses his food before he eats and he's not just doing it for show he has a good heart just like you I can see plus the fact that you have your daughter there makes it even better what is camping for I remember when I did it with my dad the first time it wasn't in a tent it was down in Key Largo in a frito-lay truck me and my little brother didn't care that it was a truck it had a mattress inside and we could not go fishing all night so we went to sleep comfortably also it's the cooking some guys cook normal meals some guys cook gourmet food like Chris BAMAN in Australia. what makes you great Is the family feeling and the bond that you have with your daughter because I think camping is all about family whenever you read this message I hope you have a great day

The Rule that I understand is you don't sleep with a bunch of clothing on in your sleeping bag due to sweating in your primary clothing. You get out of your sleeping back with sweaty clothing, and you instantly have an issue with having to dry your clothing and an issue of lowering you body temp. Not sure what you did prior to getting in your bag.
Buy yourself at least a 5lb or max 10lb cylinder for the buddy heater. There is no need for a 20lb. A 1 lb will last around 3 to 6 hours depending on the setting of the heater. Your model on high would last 1.5 hours. So eave on high with a 5lb tank would last 7.5 hours.
Yeah I have my 20lb tank now. Probably a little overkill for 1 nighters, but plan some bigger trips coming up and nice to have a little extra propane to not worry about running it on higher settings
I used to live in rural Virginia. Someone said they saw a bear near my mailbox one day, so that made me look into getting a pistol that could take bears down. I was looking into Glocks back then, and the *G 29* was the one I'd get if I wanted an EDC self defense pistol in bear territory. Had to look into getting hot loaded rounds made by smaller companies like Double Tap. I heard others are making hot 10mm lately, but I forgot the names of those companies. Look into getting a 10mm Glock if you're wanting a semi auto for bear defense. Hot 10mm rounds are as powerful as .357 Magnum. Good thing you have the bear spray. Make sure your daughter has one or two as well. ☺️ Also get her 1 or 2 oz. bottle pepper spray for pocket carry wherever she goes. Please remember this! Just riding my bike around my neighborhood, someone's pitbull got loose and ran up on me barking, but I waited and did not spray him. I sat on my bike and he calmed down. If he latched onto my arm, I'd have to use my knife on him, but luckily for him he just bluffed. 😁 Anyway, dogs get loose, and your daughter having pepper spray (I like FOX Five Point Three brand) would be good for bad situations like that!
Yeah the glock 20 shoots 10mm and I’ve been learning about the ammo like you spoke of. I’ve never though of letting my daughter also carry bear spray but that’s actually a good idea. She just never wears a belt so I’d have to figure out best way to keep it on her

It's funny because we always see those things in our shoeboxes when we open the box and they put it there for a reason to keep the moisture out anyways have a great day to you and your family

I hear you bro, I always carry bear spray just in case. That why I won’t go way up north where the big black bears and wolves are until I get my license to carry. The areas I go currently are mainly coyotes with possibility of black bears.

Try some interlocking foam floor mats for the floor. People use them for ice fishing. Insulation from the cold ground or ice.

Yeah, only have on what you need to stay comfortable. Wet clothes in the winter ain’t good

Good thing you have the bear spray. Make sure your daughter has one or two as well. ☺️ Also get her 1 or 2 oz. bottle pepper spray for pocket carry wherever she goes. Please remember this! Just riding my bike around my neighborhood, someone's pitbull got loose and ran up on me barking, but I waited and did not spray him. I sat on my bike and he calmed down. If he latched onto my arm, I'd have to use my knife on him, but luckily for him he just bluffed. 😁 Anyway, dogs get loose, and your daughter having pepper spray (I like FOX Five Point Three brand) would be good for bad situations like that!
Yeah the glock 20 shoots 10mm and I’ve been learning about the ammo like you spoke of. I’ve never though of letting my daughter also carry bear spray but that’s actually a good idea. She just never wears a belt so I’d have to figure out best way to keep it on her

th-cam.com/video/M2EBuM0rVw8/w-d-xo.html this might help with your moisture problem and why wouldn't it I think for camping it's a great idea this is just an example what I sent you here the silica packets also come in larger sizes if you have enough of them you could place them around the perimeter on the inside of the tent and I'm sure it would soak up the moisture also you can use it for your food and things you want to keep dry like matches. It's funny because we always see those things in our shoeboxes when we open the box and they put it there for a reason to keep the moisture out anyways have a great day to you and your family

So, if anyone believes that the potential for a deadly encounter could occur, take the weapon suitable for the threat and worry about the color of law after your safe return home. It would be pretty rediculous,if the headline read: man dies in grizzly attack, but chose to leave his protection at home because his overdue permit hadn't arrived in the mail prior to the camping trip.

I hear you bro, I always carry bear spray just in case. That why I won’t go way up north where the big black bears and wolves are until I get my license to carry. The areas I go currently are mainly coyotes with possibility of black bears.
