I love the way you explain the hows and whys of your builds. The explanations make the whole process a little less intimidating. As usual, a great build and I look forward to seeing what you do with the penthouse.
I'm glad you found it helpful. I usually find that the systems tend to be the easy part it's the design side of things that takes a bit of figuring out.

Yeah that pad is huge...and you only realise just how massive it is when you go to POV from build mode camera.
I''ve found the internal lighting in the habs mixed, my current outpost uses mainly science habs and for what seems like no reason one is really dark but the other are really nice lit.
I have the same issue. I have 4 of the square science habs and 3 of them are well lit but the other one is substantial darker. Thankfully the one that is darker is the bedroom but it’s still annoying.
Those habs also seem to have a bug where the outside view of the windows have either a dark or white outline, depending on the time of the day.
@hokie1134 hmm. Might be worth mentioning that outline bug to Bethesda, either on discord or through their support pages.
I've got my fingers firmly crossed for new lighting options in future!
I built one next to a hill, then put my airlock and hab on the hill so that the airlock stairs were right up to the edge of the platform and I was able to walk straight off the platform onto the airlock platform, then into the hab. The game automatically deleted the airlock stairs, too.
I've got an ideal or two in that vein that I'm planning to tackle eventually. 😎

Cheers Darth, you did a great job with this build & the variety of different objects you choose was excellent. I'm definitely thinking about getting this game, but I'm still going to wait until at least another 2 Major Updates are released (I'm aware the 1st Major Update is coming soon, but no specific date yet). I'm looking forward to your Penthouse Build & particularly a Space Ship Build.
I'd keep an eye on Instagram for a ship build as I'm not planning any videos on them at the moment. I'm looking forward to the penthouse too though. I can't wait to see what's available in Akila City too. I'm loving that place!
It would be absolut God mode to have the ability to use photo mode to make posters for your outposts... Maybe modders can get on that
Or to put photo mode pics on those desk frames and it cycles through your saved ones

you can build on the landing pad; put floor mats on it or carpets, then u can build on top of them
To keep items from sinking, do a full save when you are done and then exit the game. The exit save kind of bakes everything in place. Ever since I started doing this, I haven't had this problem.
Would be very nice if you built an outpost that's integrated with a POI(like abandoned mines or repair station).

We'll have to wait for mods for that I think. It'll probably be possible on down the line but for now we can't place outpost beacons at marked locations.

@GabeHeron I'm surprised that you can build anywhere near those spots tbh, but it sounds like a potentially very cool option. I'll keep my eyes open for potential build locations/ideas!
You can use the rug glitch from fo4 to clear the foundation from a bunch of stuff and that will allow you to put it on top of othe foundations or even clip it into walls.

@@DarthXionGames yeah, careful though, if you put the fast travel beacon on a rug and then move it, you can move the build area, but if you want to put it right on the platform to your airlock, just put build a small platform with rugs and then move it up there. You'll have to fiddle with it a bit. It's much easier to do it on the ground.
I might have a play around with it. I suspect it'll be a limited use thing for me, as it was early on in FO4. Its a useful technique but having rugs all over the place is something I'd want to avoid. (having invisible ones modded into FO4 was a game changer back in the day)!
You should try creating a MegaOutpost! Like 4 or 5 Outposts created right up against each other. Is that possible?
The build area is pretty massive so you could build a few clusters of structures I think. I'm doing something along those lines here at the moment. That video should be put in the next few days.
how do you rotate objects so slow?
There's a slider in the settings menu to change the rotation speed. Turning it down makes so much difference when it comes to accurate placement. 😎

Do you take suggestions for fallout 76 builds? Because I have a suggestion I think would be interesting:
A hunter's shack that was reclaimed after the bombs dropped. It could be located on an isolated mountainside in a thickly forested area. It'd be rustic and weathered due to lack of maintenance.
It'd be a nice break from the clean and modern builds you typically see and would add some extra immersion and uniqueness.
I'm always down to hear suggestions. I've actually done a few builds already that fit that kind of theme though. They're fun to do. There's a playlist with all my builds if you want to have a look for them. It should be on the front page of the channel. 😎
Shame couldn't change the floor to a lighter floor or ad more lighting but all in all pretty cool looking base.
I'd imagine we'll be getting more options eventually. I'm surprised we have so few lighting options though. It's a strange oversight.
Too bad you can’t use ship modules as outpost habs…
Quick question regarding ship mounted turrets: is it possible to use them for space mining? As in targeting an asteroid and shooting it with the turrets?
That would make for some fun build ideas. We might get something like that on down the line.
With regards to the turrets if they're auto-targeting then I doubt they'll work for mining. I'd think you'd need to aim manually.

@lightspeedvictory if they manly target then it should work. 🤷♂️ If in doubt try it I guess!
@@lightspeedvictory turrets on ships can't be fire on command and will only fire if there's a hostile ship nearby, best to have some fixed weapons as well as turrets.
