    That was by far the best Outpost Beginners Guide I've seen. Very well done.

    I'm downloading the game now and watching many videos to try and prepare myself for 'play'. Your presentation style is spot on and easy to view. I'll say thanks here for this video and for the others from you that I have seen or will. The 'aluminium' thing raised a giggle in me!

    Excellent video. Clear, concise, and to the point. It's exactly what I was looking for, so thank you.
    Got a laugh about the aluminium and America joke too. I've subscribed.

    This is by far the easiest simplest Outpost video on youtube. The other ones are so complicated and overwhelming that I refused to do Outpost in my game ever. Thank you very much exclamation point I don't need all the hoopla I just need an outpost that produces materials fast for me to complete orders thank you very very much

    Thank you! I played Starfield when it first came out but stopped after 100 hours because of the quest/game breaking bugs. I didn't do any outpost building back then because it seemed too overwhelming.
    With this latest beta update I've started a new game and I'm enjoying it again, but this time I wanted to do the outposts. Your tutorial explains it perfectly and now I'm anxious to try it myself.

      Great to hear this is still useful for people. I haven't played for a while but will be going back at some point soon with all the updates we've had. Tempted to wait for DLC first.

    I'm an American and prefer the British/European pronunciation of aluminum. I think I sounds a lot cooler pronounced that way. Also, thank you for the info regarding links. I was worried that I would screw something up but this video was very helpful to make setting things up way easier.

    Helpful tip that I just discovered by accident, when you are placing anything down in the build mode on your outposts, you can use LT or RT to change the connection point for multiple items. I use this for placing storage containers, because it is so complicated to line them up.

    Thank you so much for this. I am well over 100 hours in with 7 outposts and it's a mess. Going to be another 3or 4 just to fix everything but at least out of my next 100 hours the majority of it wont be spent moving around things and still not having enough of anything to build stuff. No, Todd Howard, it doesn't 'just work.'

    I bought Starfield on launch but was too deep into Fallout 76 and a bit underwhelmed at the beginning. I've jumped back in with the May update and it's now the game I was hoping for at launch. This is a great tutorial and just what I needed to start wasting my retirement time with.

    For the record regarding "Aluminum"- Sir Humphry Davy, who discovered the element in 1807, first named the metal alumium, which was quickly changed to aluminum. He finally settled on aluminium - some five years later. Aluminium was favoured by academics for it’s classical sounding name, that fit with other elements like sodium and potassium - but the huge gap from discovery and initial naming to the final form of aluminium was significant enough to allow aluminum to prevail in American English.
    So there you have it - aluminum was actually the original name for the element, which was renamed after pressure from British academics - but that message never made it to America.

    • @TheBonzomatic
      @TheBonzomatic 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      To sum it up. The name was changed to satisfy the snooty Brits...

    As an American, please say aluminum as you would. I watched too many hours of British TV/Films for you to not say it as you would. 😂

      Through media and a series of European and eastern professors when I studied chem in college I've heard more people say Aluminium than I've heard say Aluminum through my life. Aluminium is my head canon now and I'm 'Merican.

    • @vivino100
      @vivino100 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jacobbrendle1508 False. Americans began using the spelling “aluminum” in the early 19th century. The British chemist Sir Humphry Davy, who first identified the element, originally called it “alumium” in 1808. He later revised the name to “aluminum” in 1812, but British scientists preferred the “-ium” ending, aligning with other elements like sodium and potassium, and standardized it as “aluminium.”
      In the United States, the version “aluminum” was popularized by Noah Webster, who favored simplified spellings in his dictionaries. By the late 19th century, “aluminum” became the common usage in the U.S., while “aluminium” remained standard in the U.K. and many other English-speaking countries.

    Hi!! Great video. Thanks a lot.
    Hmm is there a way we can effectively sell all our abundance resources for money?
    Like if i goes on to a shop, how can i sell the resources stored on far away outposts?
    There is only the 'sell from ship' option in the vendor menu. But i have limited storage on my ship compared to the outposts.
    Do i have to manually transfer outposts resources > ship storage > then goes to vendors in multiple trips?

      The staryards offer resource contracts where you can haul like 2000 aluminum or whatever for a reward. Ask around the NPCs there.

    As someone who planning on going deep into the outpost system on NG+ is there some higher lvl fabricator that u manuelly craft higher tier items for more advanced suit and weapon mods or can all those higher tier industry items only be build using the higher tier auto crafters? Before i finnished the game i unlocked almost all lvl 4 weapon, suit and outpost skills to have them rdy for NG+ but just to be clear, to be able to build those more advanced industry items u have to use the new unlockable autocrafters or is there some tech 2 industry workbench somewhere that i somehow missed?

    I cannot for the life of me figure out how you move around with a beacon, let alone when you are in the overhead view. I cannot move at all. I can pan around in a circle but I cannot move my view point. I am stuck in one spot as soon as my Outpost Build mode is activated.
    Please tell me how you are doing that ?

    Where in the base does crafting pull from? Do you have to have the materials on your person or ship, or will it pull from the outpost storage also?

    • @TheBeardGuys
      @TheBeardGuys  ปีที่แล้ว

      It will pull from your ship, your inventory and also from your Outpost, any of the items listed under storage in build mode (like the solid/gas/liquid crates etc).

      I've found it tends to pull from outpost storage first then personal inventory and ship inventory I filled a bunch of storage with aluminium and iron and then went to make some more adaptive frame to make more storage and found the storage I'd already filled had been used and I had to fill them again 🤦 for context I was carrying around 3,000 of each iron and aluminium and had stored about 2,000 of each and I made a mountain of adaptive frames to make a tone more storage thinking of I'll use up some of the excess I'm carrying yeah didn't happen

    I get a kick on how you English people have an accent, not to mention the unique words you use quite often like "Plunk" ... I'm not going to laugh or ridicule, because everybody's different everybody has their own little niche that helps them be more unique. I myself am quite unique that way also so I empathize. I have built about three outposts one of which just to supply a need. I did build a base on Masada. With me taking an educated guess, the very first time I placed the beacon down I had seven resources available at one spot. I would strongly suggest checking it out, because for the end of the constellation storyline is on that planet also. Not to spoil anything please be safe, also more information about Outpost information is greatly appreciated

    Space is colonized by the efficient. Why use five syllables and invent letters that aren't there when you can use four syllables and only pronounce the letters that are actually present?
