Nickel Plate Road 765: The Tri-State Steam Excursion

Another steam excursion is in the books as we headed out to the Indiana Northeastern Railroad to meet up with the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society and the Nickel Plate Road 765 during the Tri-State Steam Excursion. One thing that was new for this trip was a different destination as they head to Jonesville, Michigan, one town over from their original destination at Hillsdale in the past few trips from Edon, Ohio. The icing on the cake from this trip was seeing the recently restored Nickel Plate Road SD9 358 on the train which looks really good. We even went the extra mile and followed the train from Edon and then back again later in the afternoon making it quite a very productive day along the tracks.

Excellent video. I plan on doing the Fall Color train in late October, hopefully y’all could do an on ride video of that excursion. Also NKP 358 looks absolutely stunning and the paint job is easily one of my favorites. Which the FWRHS needs to do a photo charter with NKP 358 on replicated freight trains
