  • If your car is stumbling and dying out and the brakes feel like they are not working sometimes. This fix may solve your problem. Some of the code associated can be P1346 P1349 or P1354 and could even be others. This should apply to many different Lexus models using the 3.3L engine such as the RX400H, RX330, RX300 EX300 and Toyota models such as the Avalon, Sienna, Camry Highlander Solara using the same VVTS system on model years 1999 to 2006 on the 3.0L 2995CC V6 GAS DOHC Naturally Aspirated engine and on the 3.3L 3300CC V6 GAS DOHC Naturally Aspirated engine. I found my replacements on ebay, I think it cost me $35 for both. If you have any questions please post them below, and don't forget to subscribe!

    Thanks again. My son’s ‘99 RX300 (“She-Hulk”) will continue to run because of you.

    Went through both videos to see about cleaning the filter (which you should always do when changing these solenoids) and you never cleaned the filters in these videos. FYI for everyone else: there is a filter for each solenoid that may be gunked up and should be cleaned. They are right next to where the solenoids are - A nut that comes out and the filter is right underneath it. New solenoid + clean filter = smooth operation and complete fix

    OCV FILTERS ARE LOCATED on end of head near but lower than OCV . They are in the head and attached to the bolt below OCV . Bolt head has washer formed on mating surface for better seal .wipe surface clean and dry or it will leak oil

    Hay I to have a 2000 rx300 I gave my boy. Just a heads up theres a filter deep inside of the VVT solenoids you should have pulled out and cleaned with brake cleaner. But if it works it works.

    you don't show yourself cleaning the oil control valve filters which are on the end of each head near the OCV. if you don't clean those you may be doing this job again very soon.

    So where are the VVT Screen Filters located ?

    • @Cryptofun325
      @Cryptofun325 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stix yes so where are vvt screens??

    • @stix562
      @stix562 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a 3.3L V6 Sienna and the screens are located to the right of the VVT Solenoids in the side of the Cylinder Head. A Large Bolt that looks kind of like a plug retains them. Unscrew the bolt, some oil will flow out so have a shop towel under the bolt. The VVT Screens are plastic/wire mesh and have a compression grip plastic end that is retained in the bolt end (if they are not broken) if the screens do not come out with the bolt you will need to use needle nose pliers or forceps to pull them out. They can be cleaned if you so desire - or new ones can be purchased (so far I think only the dealer sells them $10 a pop - not bad) I purchased new ones just in case i had any issues with removal and cleaning.
      Seems someone removed mine before and broke the compression tabs - so I had to pull them out with the aforementioned tools. Hope that helps you and makes it easy (what a difference it makes too - I mean like wow!!).
