    Good information.Thanks! I've got the basic mini mighty vac sucker and its bigger brother. It does suck, but not in a good way. The seals don't hold up very well. They swell in pretty much anything more than water. First time you take it a part to clean it out, you can't get it back together. And when the seals swell it adds a lot of drag to the pumping. Good exercise though. Not MTA approved. I've had pretty good luck with my $25 Harbor Freight vacuum bleeder. For brakes, especially whole car brake line renewal, I'll hook it on to get the fluid moving, but always have to finish with a good old pedal pump or two, which isn't that easy since I'm a one-man operation.

      WE use a pressure bleeder for bleeding brake way faster and easier

    Good video. I prefer the manual extractor, working in my own home shop it gives me more options. No more time cards for me!

    Great video thanks brother. Keep up the great work see you in the next video thanks again. There is so many things in the industry today that you need one of those for. Cooling system and more I think it getting out of control. I understand that some places provide them but what about the ones who don't. Thanks again

    I use the hell out of my fluid extractor. Plug in the air and walk away. 20 years ago you just had to let it hit the ground. No more mess!!! Keep Rocking!!!

    I've got the manual pumper... it's probably been broken since the day I got it, because it takes forever to suck any amount out of whatever. Time to get a pneumatic one!

    I use the pneumatic one for sucking old gas doesn't go through any valves. The hand pump one the valve goes out faster if you suck old gas. They say not to suck gas with them I understand they don't want the liability with explosive fumes.

    Flat Rate Master, love the videos. I was wondering if you could make a video regarding your suggestions for SAE tools that auto techs should keep in their boxes. It's a metric world, and I've reduced my SAE stuff to a few wrenches and 1/2" sockets. What are your suggestions?

    How to suck fuel? Any recommendations on a good sucker that will handle fuel like diesel & gasoline from small tanks like generators & lawn mowers? Sure, no one wants to comment due to liability, but if one were needed which model has resistant plastic to fuels...And I just found your channel, will be checking it out. Thanks

    Another great video and interesting tools. I did not know some modern cars have done away with drain plugs? Makes no sense to me, as contaminants and metal particles stay in suspension and get drained away along with old fluids. Where's the logic?

    • @daemonhat
      @daemonhat ปีที่แล้ว

      they still have drain plugs, it's more of a convenience thing because some companies, mercedes in particular, have switched to a cartridge style filter mounted in a way that it can be changed from the top of the car. easier to do everything from up top than it is to put it on a lift and take off all the panels under the car.

    Hello FRM i had a question im a new subscriber! I want to get into the mechanic field never worked at any garages or shops yet, were is a good place to start? i live in maine and was wondering if i went to a automotive course at a community college would that be worth the time? Better chances at getting a job in a shop? It would be really great to see your perspective in a video on this topic... I see this question day in and day out. Ps not sure if u have a 🎥 on this or not on your channel..... If u do i apologize havent gotten that far yet lol Thank you FRM!

      I think going to a community college is a great way to get started in the business, it will give you a good foundation to build on, and most colleges have placement assistance after you graduate to help you find a job

    Sadly FORD differentials do not allow you t use a suction in the fill plug. Gear in the way 😞 my Matco dealer told me not to use mine for brakes do you agree, the manual says you can?? Im scared and lost and don’t know where to turn!😂

  • @THX-bh7dn

    For brakes a pressure bleeder is a best practice, I found a one way check valve w a small hose on it on Amazon it's quick been using it for brake flushes and no need to pull a guy off his job to do bleeds.

      If it's anything like the VW plastic quarter turn drain plug, the only "special tool" I needed was a flathead screwdriver!
