    I've said it on another Pearl Roadshow review video: Pearl is an awesome drum company. I have never heard one bad sounding drum from Pearl, have never had any problems with Pearl hardware. I really love this drum company. I can't wait until I have the money to buy the Jazz version of this series.

    While the cymbals are (predictably) terrible, the fact that Pearl offers a one up/two down configuration in real sizes (12/14/16) instead of the standard 10/12/16 at that price point is awesome.

      I ordered this kit and I suggest any drummer on a budget would not be let down I ordered a aqua blue rock kit and didn't get an apua blue I got a blue that changes blues ice dark blue to a classic blue u see on the 50s gretsch kits to a really nice purple glitter in the blue nice purple blue and can't find one on any of the sells pics google pics the glitter shows strongly more like on their masters series the tones aren't bad

      I've played some top notch drums and have been playen for a long time not a beggener starter drummer and I think they ad to much emphasis on this whole beggener drum kit I was so happy when I got the kit I know with good heads I will than find all the sweet spots for pleasant tones this kit is great im getting a new kick pedal and hoops these whoops arnt wide enough and that will pull the basspedal to far back and mallett looks like it's having to reach for the head so a few fine adjustments I'm up and running I've got the rarest color that these rock issues roadshow I can't find this color blue and the glitter exposes like their more high end kits masters series or their export though on their other 5piece kits that are 2up1down very nice sparkle finishes but mine none of the rock 1up2down none can't find it pluss I ordered an aqua blue and got this one I'm even happier with this one that was a little to pretty after I was sent this one love it

      The cymbals that come with this aren't at all bad sounding, and they're much better than the ones I've seen on other cheaper kits. Some of the bargain basement ones literally sound like you're smashing on trash can lids, these don't - they sound like proper cymbals.

    I got this drum set a couple days ago (my first drum set) and I just have to say I’m amazed at the quality. Sounds amazing, easy to tune, and the cymbals aren’t has horrific as they sound they are actually kind of decent... only thing is that the crash is already bent. They are not strong, but they are not supposed to be there forever. Just have to say... MONEY WELL SPENT!
    Ps. Also, crash/ride serves more as a crash

    I can't believe people are putting down the cymbals. They are just to get you going, most kits don't even come with hardware let alone cymbals and a throne. I love the one up, two down configuration. I don't see another drum company offering that even close to this price. As far as the drums go, all you need is good heads, unless you're recording this set is amazing. I'm not a beginner. I have been playing for over 20 yrs, but i just play for fun now so why get a full out maple kit to sit in a room and never move. I really like Ludwig and Yamaha, but no need to spend that kind of cash. This is the perfect kit for the money. I'll be getting these with a Paiste cymbal pack soon.

    ok enough bashing this kit for the cymbals so most of us commenting on this kit agree the cymbals are a little under par remember these drums are really geared towards kids & beginners of any age... the kit it self sounds pretty damn good. An up grade of the cymbals would definately help but keep in mind who they are gearing this kit too. If I was a kid Id love this .........................cymbals included.....just sayin....

    i am budget music enthusiast and the "entry level/ low end/ beginner kit+great heads+perfect and proper tuning=awesome sounding kit" supporters. not much experience with expensive kit yet. the most expensive kit i've played with was Yamaha's electric DTX 720K and that is a whole different realm compared to acoustic set.

    Bought this kit a few months ago. Easy to set up, especially if you've been tearing down and setting up for awhile. Only issue I've had is tuning/tightening. The trial and error method is bogus to me. I'm a perfectionist and get frustrated easily. Any tips, pointers or links that would help ease the frustration would be greatly appreciated! I'm really eager to rock out on this kit, but am prevented from doing so by the lack of know how. If you could guide this blind drummer on the right beat and path, that'd be hella awesome. I recently bought this kit and I would say im an intermediate drummer. I'd say maybe I was a bit rash in buying this kit and should have definitely looked at used kits as they are often cheaper and some come with decent cymbals (not the bad ones you get with this kit) however I do enjoy this kit and it is definitely better than my first kit which I replaced it with. I'm gonna get new heads for Christmas and make it even better but overall. I would reccomend this but also looking at used kits is a good idea too :)

      And I've been buying 2nd hand cymbals. I've recently got an 18" and a 16" AA crash cymbals and a 22" AA rock ride . Best cymbals I've ever had. Aldo scored some Avedis A mastersound hats.

      Checkout the Roadshow kit on Amazon. They have some nice diagrams midway down the page showing the differences for each kit (fusion vs jazz vs new fusion vs rock). But basically the new fusion kit has 2 mounted toms/1 floor tom, the rock kit has 1 upper tom and 2 floors toms.

      @PenguinMercy 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Michael Ortiz what is the difference in sound? Is new fusion maybe usable in more genres? Sorry I'm new to drumming

    • @Customwinder1
      @Customwinder1 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fusion drum kits usually have 10" 12" rack toms and a 14" floor tom.
      The rock kit shown here has 12" rack tom and 14" 16" floor toms.

  • @deadshot4245
    @deadshot4245 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    honestly for the price its killer for studio use having all the toms isolated and a virgin kick drum means you can easily change the kick to a 24 26 20 or 18 to get different tonal balance and punch same with snares tom wise are great sizes.

      Hints the term "Beginner". Remember he mentions "Everything you need to start drumming"??? That means beginner. He's not going to demo a complete entry-level drum kit and use Paiste 2002's with it.....that would sort of defeat the purpose of showing what the kit comes with.

    Yeah, I can't believe they didn' t include K-Customs or HHX cymbals in that beginner set instead of that crap. No wonder they they call it the Roadshow-they're taking noobs for a ride. That hardware should be Pearl 2000 series too, if we want to nit pick.

    • @TheSilverblade41
      @TheSilverblade41 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is an entry level kit, it isn't meant to have those cymbals. A person who's just starting out wouldn't want to spend probably over a grand just on the cymbals alone. I agree that they could've included some better cymbals, but come on dude, k customs on a beginners kit?

      Your rite they gave it more of a underated kit rather taken it up a notch for how much better the kit really is like u said man I've got to agree with u I've got one and I would rather budget on a kit like this and
      go all out on some nice k symbols new heads new bassdrum hoops these are too dinky when u tighten down the padal it pulls back where the mallet has to reach to the bassdrum but overall u have a great money saver and I'm happy with Pearl and yes I'm a proud owner of a nice 5 piece rock roadshow
