    We have a 2020 UX200. We LOVE it. Flawless performer. Handling is indeed nimble. Acceleration is just fine. Mileage average is at 30mpg from day one. We expect 200k+ miles on this cutie.

    Does the transmission actually "shift" when the pumped-in audio suggests it does. You can clearly hear the sound of a shifting transmission, but I'm guessing the eCVT is still use letting the engine hang at a certain RPM?

      What’s an e-CVT?

    • @smoguli
      @smoguli ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@stephenpowstinger733it’s a CVT that doesn’t have a belt or a chain. There are 2 electric motor/generator combined with 2 planetary gear sets. No clutch, no torque converter. The engine, the motors, the differential and the driveshafts are all mechanically linked at all times so nothing can slip. All the ratio variation is done via the planetary gear sets. I loved it in my CT200H and it’s much smoother and refined than the clunky dual clutch transmission in my current Hyundai ioniq plug in. If only they made a plug in version of the UX I would have bought one.

      @@jamesnardini imo it’s only buzzy like that if you really push it. With no shift simulation, you usually have quicker acceleration and less lag. Some Nissan/Infiniti CVTs can not be the most pleasant, example being the QX50. Family had a QX50, and power was good, but the lag and bizarre feel, even at low speeds was not great and the car felt hard to control and gauge your speed. I think it really depends on the application of it and the vehicles power output/powertrain.

Why not buy a used Corolla or civic for $10,000, have no debt, pay no interest or opportunity cost loss? It’s makes no financial sense to go into debt and spend $50,000 on this thing the bank owns which is worth almost 60% less in 48 months? The worst financial investment in a lifetime.
