  • The 2023 Lexus UX 250h is hybrid only and it's Lexus' smallest SUV. I talk about why I was wrong about the UX 250h and how it changed my mind. I tested the F Sport Handling version which has adaptive suspension and improved steering. It comes with the optional 12.3" display. I had a short time with this vehicle. The MSRP with destination is $47,440.

    BEV is a dead end. The eCVT hybrid is the best compromise with 56 MPG and low emissions.

      Do passengers complain about it being too small and do you find the smaller storage space a problem? Thinking about buying the 2024.

    I've done 120 k km in my 2020 UX. Averaged 5.0 l/ 100km over its life with range from 650 to 800 km depending on outside temperature. Original rear tyres have 6 mm tread just on third set of fronts. It's great🍀.

      I looked at one of these yesterday at a dealership . They advertise 38 to 42 mpg . I have a yaris cross that does 65 mpg . your figures look extremely high . Ok it it has a 6 lt bigger tank , but them figures are huge . i get roughly 110 miles per £10 . you are getting 100 .

    did you say the 2.0l motor is used just for charging?
    if yes, can this run on just battery power?

    • @revmatchtv
      @revmatchtv  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, the gas motor is the primary motivator. It also charges the battery as does braking and going down hills. It works the same way as the Prius. The electric motor is used to supplement the gas motor when needed. The battery is quite small.

    Does anyone know how much horsepower is in the rear motor in the AWD version? I can't find the answer anywhere. if it's like 15, then it is definitely not worth the AWD models

    • @FrederickGFX
      @FrederickGFX 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think it's actually even less, like 7 HP. Basically good for helping the car to get un-stuck in the snow and not much else. It's also slower than the FWD. Over-priced option imo

    I'm so torn between this and a Volkswagen ID4..I love the interior of the lexus but it's on the small side and I'm not overly clean on the back end but i😊t drives great

    • @revmatchtv
      @revmatchtv  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Somewhat of an apples to oranges comparison. The ID.4 cabin is very low rent and the controls are absolutely horrible. However it’s obviously a BEV. The UX has a nicer cabin, but obviously still needs gas.

    • @deadfool3344
      @deadfool3344 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @RevMatchTV it maybe but that's the 2 cars I've narrowed down..2 SUVs.
      As I say the interior of lexus is by far more luxurious but I think I prefer the look of ID4 on the exterior.

    So this is a mild hybrid (vs. plug-in HEV or BEV). I hate to say it, but given power train, it looks like they plopped a Lexus body and Lexus luxury features on top of a Toyota Corolla Cross XSE hybrid. One can really sense this similarity when the RevMatchTV guy talks about the UX handling and power characteristics, e.g. "definitely not a sporty car." Am I missing anything here? Not saying anything's wrong, just this what I see when I pull back the curtain.
    In Lexus, one can't attain a plug-in hybrid until one ascends to the NX 450h, the NX line of course being the upscale cousin of the RAV4 and Venza, whilst the UX is the upscale variant of a Toyota Corolla. Finally, the closest this UX gets to in a plug-in, apples to apples, is the Prius Prime, which offers more features and more interior room. Ah-ha! Souns like the Venza will be out as a PHEV in '24.

      Toyota and Lexus share many powertrains with Lexus getting slightly different tuning and often a tiny bit more horsepower if it's a fully shared drive train.

      This is not a mild hybrid, and never was mild in any trim. It's a power-split hybrid, with an electric motor and dedicated battery that can drive the car all alone (not just "generator and starter" like the reviewer mentioned).

    I hate the styling towards the rear & how it looks so awful from various angles thanks to the ridiculously protruding taillight design. I really wish Lexus would replace the UX here in the USA with the new LBX that is going to be available in other countries. Much cooler small crossover IMO.
