Nice job on sticking it up. That is a good all around size gun.

I have both the 49 and the 62 Police... they are a great companion to my 1851 Navy and 1860 Army... of the four guns there are only two frame sizes. I got the 6.5 " barrel and have not checked it for accuracy. I also found that the action was very stiff and filled with burrs... but... playing with it for a day or two the action smoothed up. At first it acted like it would not even cock to full cock. I did check the timing and it is spot on. what was causing the problem was just a few burrs.

I know you posted a month ago but better later than never. It was a good video. I do not have one of these pistols but would like one. Question: Will a standard 1851 36 cal. cylinder fit the 1862 pocket you have. If so, that would be a plus. I have several 1851 cylinders. Thanks for the video. . . . .

No however a original colt 1849 cylinder ( 6 shot) will work on a uberti 1849.

These Uberti pocket models are nice looking guns but mine has trouble with cap jams when shooting. Tried everything to no avail. Stiffer springs, lighter springs, various nipples including Slix shot, etc. Very disappointing since my other C&B guns work fine.

good presentation, id almost insist that the grip frame be steel though cast brass was an error then and now. The South didn't have much choice back then its focus before the war was agriculture It did not have much in the way of the machining industry, which is ironic when you consider the traction engine, the bankers were betting on the North the whole time. they could see well into the future because they finance it. nothing becomes, on a mass scale, without crossing a banker's desk first. captains of industry are a secondary notion. the most intelligent of us remain ignorant. slavery as they knew it was coming to a end there comes a point where collateral becomes a liability.

One other thing I check on all black powder revolvers is the size of the cyl/chamber compared to the bore. Most have way undersized chambers for bore. oddly the two little guns the 1849 and 1862 have decent matches... the bigger guns were way undersize to the point that I had to ream the chambers and use oversize balls.

Shooting it would have been nice. Mine is practically junk; loading lever latch fell off and wedge is so loose it's worthless.
