I used to have this exact ship. Displayed and played with it when I was young, sold it like 15 yrs ago. Seeing this, kinda glad I did cause I’d probably wanna do what you did. 🤔 But those windows…. ALL those windows!!! 😳🤣
You were absolutely spot on right. What a beauty it turned out to be!!! I have been looking for a nice size replica of the D exactly how you made it but can't find it. I applaud your patience! That was a hell of a lot of work and instead just keeping it "basic" you added some more work with all those details like the stand. Vacation well spent :D
Pretty cool, I had long thought of doing something similar to mine which has been sitting in a tub with a bunch of other stuff like the old playmates phasers etc too! Hmmm. Yes the windows so many windows, loved that Blair Witch reference!
Hahahaha it was so subconscious I didn't even realize it was a Blair Witch reference until now! I was thinking "last peson trapped out in space", but you're right.... All I needed was the runny nose.
I did the same on my channel. To be honest, for a toy, it was pretty good to make these modifications on, and worth the effort. My model stands well with the rest of my star trek models, and doesnt look out of place.
I am doing a similar project to my Playmates ship, but keeping the sounds. Not sure if I will do windows, but leaving a way to power them later. 10 blue and two red in each of the warp engines. The deflector is a problem for me, but like what you did.
The deflector is a problem for everyone! Good luck!!! 😁 Edit: I used a wowstick drill for the windows, just FYI. It's covered in the 10 part series, IIRC.

Thanks!!! It was a lot of work indeed, but worth the effort. She's sitting on the coffee table right in front of me, now. I nicknamed her Shippy. 🤣🤣🤣
3:21 🤣 Great humour 🫡
I'm glad you got a kick out of my silliness!!! 🤪🤪🤪

It was you that inspired me to do it, and showed me how to get started. 😁
@@Billkwando you are too modest, but thank you
