Includes complete materials list and cut list, with all angles and math done for you! Plus these designs maximize material use, giving you the most amount of shed for the least amount of money.
This is a complete video series detailing exactly how to build a shed from beginning to end. It is presented so that even someone with little to no experience can tackle this project. The instruction teaches the IBC (International Building Code) rules that almost every jurisdiction in the United States follows, so you will be prepared if you need a permit. But in many cases a permit isn’t required for a shed under a certain size.
This project takes only basic tools to accomplish. If you have a circular saw, a drill, a level & a hammer, along with some basic hand tools, you can do this.
There are things that will make it quicker of course, such as a nailgun & compressor. But you can decide what level of tools are needed.
I’ve broken the video into digestible parts. This makes it easier to refer back to a specific section. Or, if you only happen to need instruction in one area, this will save you time, since you can just watch what you need.
Things we used for this project:

Excellent set of videos. Many thanks to you and your fine family for showing the complete build from start to finish. I am originally from the UK and I must say the sheds in our country are completely different, yet look the same. Thanks again and best wishes.

No for lights. I took some 12 volt LED lights that you can get at Oreilly Auto. One I got come 2 to a pack and are made by "Truck Series" I put 6 in total (3 packs) in my 10x12 shed. I used a toggle switch above the door and also got lucky and got a 51 series AGM car battery off their RBT shelf for only 50 bucks. (nothing wrong with it. It sat on the shelf for over a year.) I keep it charged with a 4 watt solar panel I also got there. Ran the wires thru a small hole I dirlled and then filled with silicone. No leaks yet after 4 years. Havent had to change battery yet either. Can't run anyting off it but it provides a lot of light.

This series is the holy grail of shed-building tutorials. Incredibly informative. One question: why no rafter joists? Did you feel the roof is strong enough to not include them?

GREAT video series! I'm building my own shed similar to this one. Sorry if somebody else made the following observation previously (I wish I could easily search through the comments and like what others said). The OSB sheets/sheathing need some spacing between them, just in case they get wet, they might expand, causing some problems. I used big thick nails as temporary spacers, and removed them once the but the sheathing was nailed in. The required spacing printed on each piece (mine is 1/8" inch).

Fantastic video series. Very informative. Thank you! Awesome to see you getting the whole family involved too. My dad did the same thing when I was growing up and it was invaluable experience in so many ways.
I also wanted to note that your friend who helped shingle, around 17:58 when he's straddling the roof with nails in his mouth, looks a lot like Dr. Cox from Scrubs (played by John C McGinley).

The way you did the video series was incredible. You took your time to explain every detail of what you were doing so that even if we do it ourselves we can go back and research what we learned so that we won't make mistakes. It's great to see the whole family getting involved which you don't see that much anymore. You're like me and my wife. We have a very large family and everyone helps. Thank you for this series because I'm involved in making a shed out of pallets. God bless you guys

I'm in Texas, I never seen a ridge vent before. Down here we use a cement type of board that has holes in it. It goes under the overlap of the roof and lets the attic breath. I wonder what the cons and benefits would be in Texas. Our temps go into the 100-110 F range outside and can reach over 120 F in the attics in the summer.

Your last step of adding the crosspiece at the bottom of the door -- IMO more important than keeping out what little bit of weather might get through, this piece also keeps out the stinkin' mice that might otherwise squeeze through the gap at the bottom of the door. I'm so tired of mice pee and poop all over my stuff when stored in a building like this. This build looks like it might easily be mouseproof. Spiders and bugs probably not, but they don't bother me even a fraction of the damage that gnawing, pooping and peeing mice can do. I'm looking forward to building a shed about this size soon.

This is so fantastic. I'd like to build two sheds- one super insulated one to raise mealworms and another as a "she-shed" to continue making beekeeping supplies. For the former, do you have plans for how you could include a loft, so I could more tightly insulated the main level to keep the mealworms happy? Thank you- look forward to joining your FB group and getting these plans!
