When I started my career, I worked for very small contractors who worked for bigger companies. These contractors didn't have the practice of giving offer letter, relieving letter. They pay us the salary on any date in a month. How should one handle this? How BGV is done for such cases? And in some cases, the reference manager is no longer with the company or the company itself is closed. How does it work?
In that cases if the verification couldn't be done due to the closure of the company they would check with your subsequent companies you have joined. If other companies give good references based on that they will clear your earlier company. If not they will ask you any outside reference with respect to that small company, maybe a collegue.
I think barely anyone does the bgv in the small-sized and mid-sized companies. Because their HR themselves hide many of their details on LinkedIn or other platforms. And almost everyone in life someway or other goes through some or the other bad phase such as not able to keep the good relationship with the former employers/colleagues, getting themselves under false cases. Small and mid sized are dire need of or getting the employees. So, they don't go after such checks or else they will end up getting no one to work for them

But in our former organization everybody HR, Managers, TLs, Coders, including housekeeping staff also plays politics. So iam soo scared regarding my background verification. I will provide all my genuine documents to my new company. Did our former company can do anything bad to me in BGV. Please give me reply because you worked in many companies. But even if they do bad then at the time of the interview explain your case with the truth. And possibly do have some proof to support your words. Such as if you have the leave balance in your pay slips continuously then you can tell them that I have barely taken any leaves during my tenure which can support your genuineness. You can even tell them that I have acquired these and these skills, if I am unfit then how could I acquire the skills in the first place. Ultimately, you need to have support for your words. Despite that if HR still doesn't approve you then you can't do much. There are several HRs who don't know how to hire the proper candidates. So, nothing much to worry about. Do your best 🙏

Another observation we saw was that a person got removed for submitting a false certificate after few months of joining. This was an employee who got multiple performance awards for excellent work and got selected to be a project leader for a six sigma project where our team was involved. His leader vigorously opposed his removal for this background check after this long period due to his excellent performance but due to rules he had to go We also were very sad to loose him as a project leader and another less capable person got appointed in his place. Here company looses more on such late background checks. We loose good employees and some forgiveness in this case could have been given.
very true.. but things will move on because in inida we have huge supply of workers...end of the day money counts..I dont think so does the project halted? deos your company went in to loss? no right..
There might have been some other reason also have attached in his removal process, the company the management mostly hold it as long as the employee is sounding okay and beneficial to them.

Currently I am going through this bgv process. I got selected in oracle epm Bengaluru division. It has been a week since I had submitted my documents. Just one call on same day and no other thing has happened. They have collaborated with hireright for this process. Have to check what will happen.
What does not bother me is check on remnuration, position, and tenure - there are documents that address that. The problem is giving malicious feedback regarding charachter, and other subjective attributes. Much scope for passive aggressive vengeance. Cant trust people have integrities.
I second this! Authentication of documents is never an issue with most candidates if not all. It's about the soft aspects especially since bgv companies directly try to reach out to reporting managers.
What you say on background check is the way it is supposed to do. But my experience regarding to it is much different. I joined a company in 2016 and without any background check worked in a particular process where this check was not required. Than after a few years I got transferred to another process as per company requirement where they did this check for me. I find it laughable since it took them almost a month to do it and our training started after that went ok. In the meantime we ideally sat without any work (received full salary in those periods). This check makes sense at the time a person joins the company and not after years of joining when performing matters more.
and what if your company ask you about your UAN no (your PF account ) .how you will handle this ? do they ask about it while joining .or just experience letter is enough . i m in the similar situation have aprx 3 year gap ..can anyone guide me here ?
@@ajaygautam832 if your PF account has been opened than your UAN stays with you throughout your life till age 58. This is irrespective whether you continue in same job or change multiple jobs or have gaps of few months/years between job switches. All the new companies require is details like UAN. From that they can track your job history without your telling it. Experience letter is important, and so are PF details.

I have completed my graduation in BSC-Compter Sci and currently I am an MSC-CS student in my final semester. MSC-CS last semester is for Industrial Training or Internship program. The company where I am working now they are saying because you are currently in your last semester you are a student and as a student, you are not eligible for a full-time offer. During the time of Document Verification, it can cause an issue. But My college HOD says there is no such rule which is saying that during this last semester, you can not work as full-time. Hi Amol, Some companies allow you to join only once the degree is completed. It may be their company policy and has nothing to do with college. Are they giving you an offer to join after the degree? What is PPO?

There must be a online platform to submit our documents and once all clear they give an ID card with candidature...which can be accessed by all companies..so no need to do it everytime

If a company focus on talent, skills or knowledge of a candidate rather than career gap, none of the candidate will think about the fake experience... Initially itself HR reject the profile if the candidate has career gap then definitely candidate chose fake experience....

Dear suresh there is no issue in changing job or role, companies do background check of previous employment just to check the correct tenure and salary and reasons of leaving. Because most of the employees are editing salary slip/bank statement to get the higher packages that leads Them to red flag.

why genuine candidates are suffering from lack of opportunity , they have their real experience , they should be able to get a job and if they are not able to clear the interview then the issue with experience holders not with who applying through fake experience, thay have bgv vendor and they do thorough checks.

Hello Sir, I would like to clarify a situation in my past I had absconded from an MNC where I worked for 5 months and joined another company that required an immediate joiner. After leaving, I received emails from the MNC to clear outstanding dues, which I paid, and they issued me a relieving letter. However, the dates on the relieving letter overlapped with my previous employer's records by one month, and this overlap is also reflected in my UAN. I tried to resolve this with MNC at the time but received no response. This happened 4 years ago, and now I am working with MNC. I'm worried that they will discover this and terminate me. I feel extremely stressed due to this situation, especially because I have a home loan and family responsibilities, and I’m not sure how to handle it.
on this situation dont try to switch , if you want to give a try then check with future employer and tell this scenario and if they are ready to take you have a written in email. all the best

Hi Anand I worked in a startup for 4 months in 2018 , I don't have reliving for the same since I have a signed service agreement that i would not be entitled to receive any such document unless I complete 24 months of service . After that i worked with two reputed MNCs and they never. Asked about the releiving letter / experience letter .. But one future employer is asking about such releiving letter ...which I can't provide apparently since I have the service agreement in place . Please advise how shall I proceed .

That's correct Samir. Companies should have mechanisms in place to make exceptions for such corner cases or rare scenarios 🙌

Affer loa when you fill out the details to your new employer now it should be correct.

Depends on the set of scope. Company may check last two employments or employment for last 7 years or 10 years not more than that.

they can ask their HR/ your old boss and can ask for payslips+ bank statements. PF isn't mandatory!
I don't believe anyone is going to reply on such a long email. And what if old manager gives negative reply. No one can held him responsible.
You are right. If old manager has any personal agenda then it'll haunt the candidate wherever they go!

Hi Amol, Some companies allow you to join only once the degree is completed. It may be their company policy and has nothing to do with college. Are they giving you an offer to join after the degree? What is PPO?
@@CareerTalk yes they are giving me Pre Placement Offer .They give me 2 options 1 take 2 months gap or extend internship by 2 months.
But to receive my final result it takes around 4 months
What I am saying is if i am not a regular student they should allow me for full time.
If they can allow to join me as full time employee before final result (after 2 months) then why not now.
I want to know from you if they not provide my final result of MSC what is result of my background verification?
My some friends just give graduation documents to company and not mention MSC results and they are working as full time.
If I do so there is any negative impact?
All these questions are asked for every candidate during employment check
there should be a platform/service for background check of "companies", that way you can at least verify the company you applied to is legit.

I worked in an organization for 8 months and joined another one without serving notice period in the former. I never mentioned any work experience of that while applying in this new company. If a company focus on talent, skills or knowledge of a candidate rather than career gap, none of the candidate will think about the fake experience...
Initially itself HR reject the profile if the candidate has career gap then definitely candidate chose fake experience....

Don't put that company where you absconded. They only verify by using what data you gave to them.

This is what British treat Indian's same treatment is given in background check. You interview candidates he is capable of doing his work then this kind of treatment.

Dear suresh there is no issue in changing job or role, companies do background check of previous employment just to check the correct tenure and salary and reasons of leaving. Because most of the employees are editing salary slip/bank statement to get the higher packages that leads Them to red flag.

Hello sir, I recently got selected in British High commission as visa support assistant, the recruitment officer sent me a draft and have all the checks like first medical, refrence check,they then ask me to fill BGV , I don't know how do they do it, after that an associate of their third party come to verify my address verification, and mam said in last mail the tentative date of joining is 1st April, it's been 7 days since address verification and no response for my actual offer letter, so if you can help what went wrong or should I still wait for 2 more days. Because in last mail they didn't respond. Which was sent by me before address verification.

why genuine candidates are suffering from lack of opportunity , they have their real experience , they should be able to get a job and if they are not able to clear the interview then the issue with experience holders not with who applying through fake experience, thay have bgv vendor and they do thorough checks.

Actually I have filled 60 days my notice period on TCS ibegin portal ( because company will release me after 21 days but company take more 30 days to provide my experience and reliving letter. so total sum is 51 days due to this reason i filled 60 days) but official notice period is just 21 days.

Hello Sir, I would like to clarify a situation in my past I had absconded from an MNC where I worked for 5 months and joined another company that required an immediate joiner. After leaving, I received emails from the MNC to clear outstanding dues, which I paid, and they issued me a relieving letter. However, the dates on the relieving letter overlapped with my previous employer's records by one month, and this overlap is also reflected in my UAN. I tried to resolve this with MNC at the time but received no response. This happened 4 years ago, and now I am working with MNC. I'm worried that they will discover this and terminate me. I feel extremely stressed due to this situation, especially because I have a home loan and family responsibilities, and I’m not sure how to handle it.
on this situation dont try to switch , if you want to give a try then check with future employer and tell this scenario and if they are ready to take you have a written in email. all the best

I worked in a startup for 4 months in 2018 , I don't have reliving for the same since I have a signed service agreement that i would not be entitled to receive any such document unless I complete 24 months of service .
After that i worked with two reputed MNCs and they never. Asked about the releiving letter / experience letter ..
But one future employer is asking about such releiving letter ...which I can't provide apparently since I have the service agreement in place .
