Hidamari Sketch convinced me that slice of life was the best anime genre, I went from not really getting the appeal to understanding it very well, sometimes you just need an easy peaceful watch that reminds you that there are good things in this world, especially when your an adult, like a warm bath, shows like this can wash away any bad vibes you went into them with
Her role as Hotori Arashiyama is one of my all-time favorites, and the fact that it's the complete opposite of Nazuna's voice is a great display of her range. Really wish she was more active.

I found your Yotsuba video a few months ago and since then, you've become one of the few channels that make me excited thinking about what you could upload next. It's not because of the topics, or the great editing, but because of *you*. I honestly do not care a bit about anime, Vietnam, thumb movies, or Pink Floyd, but despite that I've watched all your videos on those topics multiple times over. Passionate, personality rich channels are so rare that I started to forget how much I loved those types of creators. Your videos remind me a lot of classic Mumkey videos, not because of the jokes, but because of how it feels like hanging out with someone, talking about what makes them passionate. (Maybe 2017 Cybershell is a more apt comparison). It's people like you that'll carry on people like Mumkey's style of content, if not in law, then in spirit, if that makes sense. It's so nice to see people deliberately include things to kneecap their videos, like copyrighted music and uncensored swears because that's what they want to make, that's what they find funny, that's *them*. If bread is art, then undoubtedly so are your videos. Your channel is more art than others 50 times your subscriber count, because it's your pure vision. No matter what you upload next, be it on some anime I've never heard of or on Sonic lore, as long as you're passionate about it, I'm sure it'll be great, and I'll sure as heck be there to watch it.
I acquired season 1 of this show on bluray from some free blind box I got during some Rightstuff sale last year. This video convinced me to finally watch it. Good stuff. Miyako is indeed best girl.

First time watcher, but how could I not watch a love letter to one of my favourite anime for an hour? Your analysis is spot on and entertaining, your humour is great, your editing looks like it took forever, and the way you get across the experience of watching this masterpiece is extremely well done. I'm also one of those people that considers Hidamari Sketch as a top tier slice of life series. I've watched it several times, and it's great seeing it get the respect it deserves. Thank you!

I've been meaning to sum up my current attitude towards life in a wide thread, but this seems like a slightly better place for my rambling. I'm currently in the process of turning myself into Miya. Not in some weird "I want to be a girl!" way, but her attitude and the strengths she brings to life. I read philosophy so I can find wisdom relating to the sunny side of life, I lift and run so I have plenty of energy, and I generally lead the way in terms of group planning and I always try to make things as fun for the people I'm with as possible (not in a sad clown way [anymore]). And also not to say that I'm trying to run away from the cruelties of life, but that just like Miya, I try to not let them get me or the people in my life down too much.
First time ever I see a video over 1 hour on TH-cam. Amazing, you captured everything that makes Hidamari one of the greatest animes ever made. Although I missed that you didn't take a minute to thank the powerful EDs made by marble, it was a ride and so much stuff I remembered from Yunocchi and friends that I thank you for this. Subscribed.

I waited till I finish Hidamari Sketch to watch this video and I just finished the series today and here are my two cents when I concluded the series. I posted these thoughts before watching your videos. So I finally finished Hidamari Sketch after being exposed to the legendary Black and Yellow Sketch in which Hidamari Sketch and Whiz Khalifa had a mash up over a decade ago. I finally got around to watching this beautiful series. It is a beautiful slice of life CGDCT which put me in a very chill mood every time I head to bed. The characters were cute, charming, and amazing. Yuno is our protagonist and served as the stand in for the audience on how to navigate the world of Hidamari Sketch. She’s a little unsure of herself, but she’s trying her best and she is actually more powerful than she thought she currently is. Miyako is the ever cheerful girl who is in the same grade with her and you just feel grateful that you have a friend like that on her side. Sae is the father like figure of the group and Hiro is very motherly. Nozuna is the cute little sister and Nori is the confident older sister. I love all the characters in the show from Yoshinoya sensei to Chika Sae’s sister to Natsume to The principal to The landlady to the minor characters like the school nurse and the teacher that shares the room with Yoshinoya sensei. The music was great and I love all the OP and ED. The first season OP is S tier and all the rest of the OP and ED are on that A tier. The background music was beautiful and chill and even the little sound such as Yoshinoya’s footstep squeak was a very nice touch. I love the patterns of each episode. Yuno wakes up in the morning at the beginning of the episode and ends the day when she takes a bath as her nightly ritual. There is a time and place for everything and this anime really hammers it home of “there is a time and place for everything.” I actually love the routine of the show and even though it’s routine the story kept moving forward and you see the characters develop slowly, but surely. The animation was pushing the limits of the medium because it really played with the editing and created its own animation language on how to tell the story from bumper cuts with the joke for example to using graphic design to depict action. It has it’s own unique animation style although jarring at first you will get used to it once you get to the flow of it. I watched Puella Magica Madoka first and did not realized that the people who created that show started off with Hidamari Sketch. I can really see the influence of the animation/character style from Hidamari Sketch. I thought Madoka pushed the limits of animation to the point of expressionism when they depicted the enemy (the witches) and Hidamari Sketch laid the ground work for that kind of expressionism in animation. Without Hidamari Sketch, Madoka would not have that unique look and I love both series. Albeit Madoka puts a lot of stress on the viewers because of the emotional content. I hate that this ride has ended, but I am so glad that I went on this journey. TOP 5 CGDCT anime. It will not crack my TOP 3, but this series is at that solid 5.

This time around there's less of the specific flavor of dry humor Demolition D is known for in your own comedy. I think your genuine voice is coming out much more strongly. Now make the exact same video with the exact same themes, but with Mondonka.
Hidamari Sketch Characters do get their character traits adapted to become Madoka Magica Characters, Yuno and Madoka are literally the same person, because Madoka's Designs are based on Yuno's, this is all confirmed by both Ume Aoki and Gen Urobuchi, and was originally planned that Kana Asumi will be the voice for Madoka, and then Miyako' designs adapted to Mami Tomoe's designs, along with Hiro's personality, Nazuna's designs and character traits eventually made many of the main characters in Magia Record:Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica Gaiden, Iroha and Ui Tamaki had almost the same hairstyle as Nazuna, with Iroha being just Nazuna with much longer hair, and Sana Futaba and Kaede Akino had the personality of Nazuna, Nori and Sayaka are essentially the same person, and nearly thought that Sayaka had the same VA as Nori, and of course Matsuri's character designs possibly the base design for Rena Minami, despite Matsuri being NOT a tsundere, but instead a lovey dovey deredere girl. Hidamari Sketch is also the series that introduced me into Madoka Magica.
My favorite iyashikei. The only anime that came even slightly close to that undisputed number 1 spot was Yuru Camp which now sits comfortably at number 2. Also, Miyako for president!
The anachronic order does have an... interesting effect on the first episode. It seems like they spend a lot of the intro and some of the main story recapping what to them happened yesterday, but which we wouldn't see until episode 13 of x365. I don't really have a consistent "type" that makes a character my favorite, but I reckon Miyako is mine for Hidamari Sketch. I'm trying to remember if the orange juice in that scene was originally alcoholic in the manga. It definitely was at the welcome party. I suppose we'll always wonder who they would have chosen for Matsuri's voice... Speaking of voices, there's a fun little voice actor joke in the sick episode. While Yuno is sleeping, Miyako carves an apple so it has a face, and ears on the top. Yuno, correctly guessing that it was Miyako's doing, asks her about it, but Miyako denies it. Yuno jokes that "perhaps a fairy crafted it." Of course, Miyako's voice actress, Kaori Mizuhashi, has indeed voiced fairies: most notably Navi from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, but also Ciela from Phantom Hourglass, and Pepper from A Little Snow Fairy Sugar.
i seriously thought that Matsuri was gonna become tsundere, instead, she is a lovey dovey deredere, that i can never stop loving. Despite her being the potential character design base for Rena Minami from Magia Record.

This time around there's less of the specific flavor of dry humor Demolition D is known for in your own comedy. I think your genuine voice is coming out much more strongly. Now make the exact same video with the exact same themes, but with Mondonka.

Hidamari Sketch Characters do get their character traits adapted to become Madoka Magica Characters, Yuno and Madoka are literally the same person, because Madoka's Designs are based on Yuno's, this is all confirmed by both Ume Aoki and Gen Urobuchi, and was originally planned that Kana Asumi will be the voice for Madoka, and then Miyako' designs adapted to Mami Tomoe's designs, along with Hiro's personality, Nazuna's designs and character traits eventually made many of the main characters in Magia Record:Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica Gaiden, Iroha and Ui Tamaki had almost the same hairstyle as Nazuna, with Iroha being just Nazuna with much longer hair, and Sana Futaba and Kaede Akino had the personality of Nazuna, Nori and Sayaka are essentially the same person, and nearly thought that Sayaka had the same VA as Nori, and of course Matsuri's character designs possibly the base design for Rena Minami, despite Matsuri being NOT a tsundere, but instead a lovey dovey deredere girl. Hidamari Sketch is also the series that introduced me into Madoka Magica.
My favorite iyashikei. The only anime that came even slightly close to that undisputed number 1 spot was Yuru Camp which now sits comfortably at number 2.

The anachronic order does have an... interesting effect on the first episode. It seems like they spend a lot of the intro and some of the main story recapping what to them happened yesterday, but which we wouldn't see until episode 13 of x365.
I don't really have a consistent "type" that makes a character my favorite, but I reckon Miyako is mine for Hidamari Sketch.
I'm trying to remember if the orange juice in that scene was originally alcoholic in the manga. It definitely was at the welcome party.
I suppose we'll always wonder who they would have chosen for Matsuri's voice...
Speaking of voices, there's a fun little voice actor joke in the sick episode. While Yuno is sleeping, Miyako carves an apple so it has a face, and ears on the top. Yuno, correctly guessing that it was Miyako's doing, asks her about it, but Miyako denies it. Yuno jokes that "perhaps a fairy crafted it." Of course, Miyako's voice actress, Kaori Mizuhashi, has indeed voiced fairies: most notably Navi from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, but also Ciela from Phantom Hourglass, and Pepper from A Little Snow Fairy Sugar.
