I used needle nosed pliers and gently pulled on the part from underneath the water tank. The whole piece pulled through and out. I rolled off the o-ring and dunked it in coconut oil. Then I put the part back where it goes without the o-ring on it. I held the o-ring in my fingertips and went into the empty tank and slid it over the piston. Its working just fine. I can do this every 6 weeks, no problem.

Where can I buy the O-ring, spring and valve piston.

A temp fix? No, no. NO!
Gently scrape all deposits from all contact surfaces where the valve is. Soak in vinegar for tough deposits, then use your fingernail to scrape the softened deposits. Replace o ring if it is cracked. After replacing back into its groove, check for leaks with water inside the filter holder. If all contact surfaces are clean and smooth, and you see a good fit of the outside surface of the oring onto its mating surface, but it still leaks, then the oring's inside
diameter is slightly too big. To fix, increase the diameter of the bottom of the round groove that the o-ring must slip into. How? Cut a thin band from a tube of 3/16 inch diameter heat shrink (from electrical parts aisle at hardware). Height of this band should be a smidge taller than the width of the groove. Slip the heat shrink band over the end of the piston shaft so it sits in the groove.
Carefully heat with a cigarette lighter while rotating the piston, so the band shrinks snugly against the bottom of the groove. Reinstall the piston with spring on the outside, o-ring on the inside. I used a rigid plastic tube to push the o-ring down into the groove. No leaks!

This was really great. I had to use a straw to push the ring back off the piston. Ah it worked. I think it got pulled up tight from the filter holder that you put in on top of it. It still drips a bit BbutI fill it attached to the machine. any other ideas. You are the only one to give help on this problem. Cuisinart is no longer selling the replacement water reservoirs plus they were $ 39.95 about half the price of the coffeemaker.

I had a small sliver of plastic in between the stem of the tank and the receiver at the base. Hope that solves it.

Hello, my water tank is dripping when removed from the (Jura Impressa E65) machine. Please, can you explain how to remove the piston to replace the O-ring? Thank you!

It would be nice if your music didn't drown out your voice in places.

How do you get it underneath the o-ring? Do you remove it? Cannot figure out how

Mines not leaking from the reservoir but the part in the machine underneath the reservoir. I have done a clean and used descaler. Still, a huge mess when I leave water in the reservoir.

_I don't have a Scooby Doo really, as I am not an engineer. But it might be a tube blockage, tube split or tube that has simply come away and needs to be put back on._

_This is only a TEMPORARY FIX. Longest no-leak period so far is 7 weeks with modest amount of lubricant used and water fow for 6 coffees daily. I intend to try a hot glue gun fix in a month or two -- this carries some risk as the hot plastic may not bind properly, may bind unevenly and prevent the valve closing flush and fully again, and the 'glue' or plastic may not be food-safe (i.e. it could contain a toxin that contaminates the water)._

Use hot glue? Are you kidding me, that is a far worse solution ( chance of success is near zero) than the temporary food grade lubricant. I know, cuz i fix broken stuff a lot. You should retract that awful idea!
