I don't often post comments, but I would love to see a reaction video from you regarding the Jose Pasillas drum solo from Incubus during a live concert at red rock when playin Vitamin!
The most technically proficient and diverse band of the last 30 years. To be able to blend so many genres into music that rocks your ass off is almost unheard of and close to impossible to achieve.
Agreed. Also, the way they’ve embraced the evolution of their sound over the years without abandoning the fuuuckin bangers from SCIENCE or fungus amongus. Love these dudes.
@@jjwp-ql5rv no way, incubus' peak was around 07 in my opinion. they played a small venue tour that year for light grenades and it was an absolutely incredible musical experience. This was the year they released the look alive dvd, so you can see how awesome they were in action at this point.
What happened at Red Rocks 2004 was magical, and will remain a classic. Thank you Incubus for the good times and thank you uploader for the much needed reminder.
Brandon tells us in this song that we (with his help) will awaken the world, "You and I...will pry...the closed eye, of the sleep machine." It's a very metaphorical song, I love Incubus for everything there is to love about a band, They're great people, VERY talented in multiple fields of music, POTENT Skill in their main role in the band, They make great use of all their instruments, and to top it off they open the eyes of their followers to the good and bad in life. They're very inspirational
Wonderfully said my friend :) hope you and your loved ones are safe and that is extended to this amazing group of artists! I saw them for the first time last year for 20th ann of make yourself... incredible! Would have loved to see them at red rocks!!!
Ive seen them live 3 times. This was amazing. Never got to see this kind of solo. Id love to see them again. They are my 2nd favorite band live besides Tool.
Without a doubt one of the coolest, sickest and awe-inspiring live music performances I've ever seen! Thankfully, Incubus are master musical craftsmen. This is the kind of stuff I wish were on the radio more often .... jus saying.
When I fall into regret I stumble with the words They remind me that They remind me that Everything in ebb Everything has led Me to right now... s o O o o r i g h t
@@lloydvillanueva7433 So that's a tricky question, because this song can be slit into two. This version is shorter with lyrics and it's called "Everything in Ebb" but the melody existed before as an instrumental song that Incubus did for a Halo 2 videogame, and there the song is called "4th Movement of the Odyssey" ( I recommend looking it up listening to it because it's very good) What I wish is that there was a combined version of both, the longer instrumental song with the lyrics added
Watching this 15 years later (and obviously still gives me chills) but noticing the rope ladders in the background when people would have to climb up and be above the stage the entire show for the spot lighting for each member of the band. You'd know the show was about to start when they'd climb up. Crazy how much technology has come along.
Jose is a beast…this band is underrated….one of my faves. Also, as a teenager, they led me on a certain path that led to my enlightenment. Been a fan for almost 25 years and love the evolution
10:07 this makes me really happy that they played 4th movement of the odyssey from halo 2. Literally my childhood, and my favorite song they made for halo. They totally rocked this performance lol
Just a killer performance. It takes possession of you.Powerful, evoking, outstanding, loving, warm, amazing, beautiful, sound scape of fantastic master piece of enchanting, brilliant. Come and dance on furious rhythm.
I don't think I've ever seen Jose in a trance quite like this before. I was supposed to see them in 2020 and watching this, man, I cannot wait til they announce their rescheduled tour!!! I know being able to perform at this level again is why they're still holding out for now and I appreciate that. I just hope they reschedule before my credit for the tickets I had expires.
saw incubus in '04 where they played this, '07 in a small venue, '09, '11, '15, '17, i feel like im forgetting one too lol. and the end of this from the jam session onwards is from the halo 2 soundtrack where they played a 4 part 30 minute mostly instrumental epic musical journey. One of their greatest creations in my opinion. Search youtube for "Incubus The Odyssey" , this is the 4th movement
Those boys used to go HARD on those improv sessions live. I saw them 2 or 3 times at The Varsity in Baton Rouge in 98ish. Amazing shows each and every time. Their 2 older live performance videos are WELL worth the price of admission. 🤘

My official energy boosting, keep things in perspective, there is truly awesome music left in this world go to. Add the live version Sick Sad Little World from anywhere recorded.
Not hearing John Bonham in almost anything he plays. He could very well be inspired (although not deeply) by John Bonham but his playing does not mirror/mimic Bonham's style or demonstrates his influence. The styles he does demonstrate his influences from are Stewart Copeland, Chad Sexton and Tim Alexander. :)
otraxo I disagree. It’s quite apparent in the chorus of “Vitamin” as well as the outro portion of this performance, titled “Everything in Ebb”. Jose plays really tightly with Mike, almost mimicking the rhythms in Mike’s strumming. They also do that in a number of their other songs. That is a classic Bonham technique that he made famous with the release of their first album. FYI - Jose has even said in interviews that Bonham was a major influence when he decided to pursue drumming.
I remember this being on Ps3 for some reason and It was perfect timing because I recently got into Incubus at the time. I remember them playing this song and Pardon Me.

There's many things about spotify that suck, but I will forever be grateful that despite the fact that 99% of the time, the algorithm sucks harder than my best friends sister. However, It did introduce me to these guys. Fuckin' awesome 🤘
Saw Incubus live last night. I was hoping they would do this (Vitamin and the 4th movement of the Odyssey), but it was still an excellent concert nonetheless. Love these guys!
They're better musicians and I do agree they still make amazing music, but they did leave this style behind. Not a big deal for me, but some people wish they still made this kind of funky jazz metal whatever you call it kind of stuff.
You realize people were saying this about them when this DVD came out right? If bands never changed that would be horrible, diversity Is good. If you don't like the new stuff then just be thankful you have things like this.
I say this still has to be one of the best live performances of all time! This DVD was amazing.

Incubus with Dirk Lance was at their pick ; Ben, as multi-instrumentalist as he is, couldnt make what Dirk have done even at 2020. His slap or solos .
